Incorrect, this ring is actually 2nd BiS for hunters after the Hagara ring.

The second BiS ring is actually even though it has expertise instead of the valor ring, 397 , once you are able to get heroic mode versions. I've seen several others forgetting about this ring and unless your raid happens to have a lot of other rogues, feral druids, and enhancement shaman, hunters will still be able to get them (albeit they should still wait til the other classes got them first for overall raid dps as part of the itemization is still wasted on a hunter.

You gain:
+45 Agility
+52 Mastery
+73 Reforged Stat (Hit, Crit, Haste) from Exp
-184 Haste

Actually I didn't even roll on this item because I thought there would be hunter specific rings (2x).
I guess I should have checked the facts before doing so.

Personally I don't like rolling on an expertise item even if it's the 2nd best in slot.

Let's q.q in the forums. Maybe Blizz will add one ring for us :D

With Tier 13 2pc set bonus, it makes mastery more desirable (as sv anyways). Reason being, with the bonus we now generate more Focus. So we aren't as stressed on getting more Cobra Shots out.

So again, you gain the follow over the VP ring:
+45 Agility
+52 Mastery
+73 Reforged Stat (Hit, Crit, Haste) from Exp
-184 Haste

Agility has a significant value compared to secondary stats, and part of the expertise can be reforged to crit, our strongest of the secondary stats. Due to these two things, and despite the wasted itemization, this ring is indeed considerably better than the vendor ring, coming up at over a 500 dps upgrade for a 401 ilvl equipped hunter. This is a bigger upgrade than any other piece of gear available to me at the moment, but I will be letting the rogues/ferals/enh at it first, of course.

As a fairly hardcore raiding rogue, and one who would likely have a conniption fit if a hunter gets this over another melee, I still have to admit that due to Blizzard's itemization of rings and cloaks this tier, that this ring is in fact a 2nd BIS for our ranged agility brethren. It is not their fault that there are no other options, and despite the wasted stat, it still is in fact better than the vendor ring.

While I love blaming hunters that need on everything, we also have to be realistic. I'm sure there is no hunter in the world that would pick expertise up (until Mists that is) if given a choice, but in this case, they are not given a choice. This reminds me of the old Cursed Vision fiasco, where basically every single physical dps class (hunters, rogues, warriors, enhance, etc...ok maybe not rets) wanted one. Blizz has gotten far better making sure classes have correctly itemized choices, but this one is one that appeals to all despite the bad stat. That said, I do hope that hunters recognize that the *raid* will likely get a bigger upgrade by this going to melee first, simply because there is no wasted stats and therefore the raid, theoretically, will get a bigger benefit by enhance/rogue wearing this first.

Last week I obtained it on my main character Texxi - Eu Blackrock

Any raid that gives this to a Hunter BEFORE all the rogues, enhancement shamans has it, its simply retarded :D
