This is an AMAZING trinket for an Elemental Shaman. I have no doubt it's amazing for anyone else who uses mana as well. Be sure to pick this trinket up when you're out leveling, or at least come back to the zone once you reach level 85.

Does anyone know if the proc on this trinket affects healing as well? I would assume so, given the name. If so, then it's a fairly amazing trinket for resto shaman as well.

After about 30 minutes of testing, it seems to have a 1 min 45 sec cooldown on it.

I don't know about the 1min 30 sec CD. I was healing with this today and I had it proc and it proc'd again and refreshed its duration within 6 sec of the first proc.

Useless for restoration shaman. Well, not useless because of +int but useless as far as proc concerned.
For this to be really useful, our healing target has to be less then ~60% of HP (as low as possible - ideally 1%) and it has to proc at right time. In my opinion, far more useful for other classes / specs.

Useless for priests too.

Mastery only increases Orbs damage, or Echo of Light effect, or shield absorbs in discipline.

Except for a small part in Discipline (still way too low compared to the bonuses haste, crit or spellpower gives) the Shadow and Holy ones are ridicolous amount of bonuses to your damage or heals.

I'm really going insane in the membrane when I keep seeing all those blue quest rewards or boss drops, 80% of them has +mastery in it and ME NOT LIKE

As of 4.0.3, if you're a (Fire) Mage, this is a very powerful trinket to even start raids with. While Mastery is a fairly weak stat for Fire Mages, Intellect is far superior to absolutely everything, even Hit, and this trinket has bucketloads of it. Only Tyrande's Favorite Doll and Darkmoon Card: Tsunami have more of the stuff from pre-raid choices.

Nothing outways hit. If you are not hitting, you're not doing dmg, so what good will that extra intellect do? You're just wasting the extra mana you gain from this trinket.

This was the case all the way until Cataclysm. However, because of the amount of things Intellect brings to the table, the DPS increase of 1 Int is higher than 1 Hit at least in the case of at least Fire Mages (if not all of them), making that statement plain wrong. Hit is still second best however.

The relative value of Intellect is now 3.96 compared to Hit's 3.1209 for Fire Mages. It doesn't only increase your Mana, it increases Spell Power, Crit and Mana, which are all very valuable, and in total more valuable than Hit even before cap. You can go check Elitist Jerks' Fire Mage Compendium for proof.

You shouldn't forget that the point is to always go for what increases your DPS the most. Hit just happened to be the best at that until now, it's not the godlike stat to rule them all.

Fairly decent for spriest but you have to be alert for the proc. Normally I'm generating orbs about as fast as I can use them, but with this I sometimes have to interrupt rotation and let VT or DP expire for a bit to make sure that I am putting out as many MB as possible during the 20 sec. If you have dots up on multiple targets so you can keep generating orbs, I'm wondering if it is worth spamming MS for the 20s. Probably not, not enough orbs would be generated to make it worth it.
