It dropped for my 25 man group tonight and it had one charge for the transformation. The person who won the roll used it and ended up with one of each weapon, rather the weapon itself changing. Which seems like kind of a strange mechanic for the reforged version of this particular weapon.

Got this tonight and the created item https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=49497 is not tradeable. So don't make the mistake I did by using it if you're not prepared to use a polearm that has expertise on it. Hand it to a feral, let them use it and have them hand it back.

The use on this creates a totally different weapon, that does not despawn so you get TWO weapons if you get this. Also you can give the DPS version to someone else, For example if you have a tank druid and a feral DPS, let the tank druid pick it up and use it to make the Tank version, then they can trade the DPS version to the feral DPS'er, so two people get a sick weapon from one drop, or if your greedy you can have a nice tank and dps polearm (i dont like greedy people so i dont recommend this but to each his own)

Apperently this weapon will not be destroyed when Thunderstrike is created. Basically you have two weapons in one drop. And many hunters bored at druids and death knights also drooling for this weapon.

When you 'use' the weapon, it summons a second Thunderstrike in your bag. Can be used multiple times, but you cannot vendor the summoned weap, so it's pretty useless to make more than one TS at once; but 2 weaps for the price of one, awesome for druids switching between bear and cat.

At 3.10 speed, this is a pretty terrible weapon for Rets, wars and dps dks. So why does every ret, war and dps dk roll on this and is aloud to loot it?

Its top end damage is about the same as ilvl 219 2 handers.

Although the stats are sterling the speed makes it a bad weapon for 2h dpsers. So hunters, ferals and mabye Dk tanks(Thunderstrike) should have prio for this weapon.

NB: Enchant procs currently bugged on this weapon (@ 28 Sept 2009)

Tested using Mongoose and Berserking - 10 mins on combat dummy and ZERO procs of either.

(Enchant Procs working fine on Reinforced Thunderstrike)

if this drops, get classes that use expertise to roll first, they use it, get the BOP weapon, then others roll and get this.

I really hope that this drops for me this week. Marrowstrike has been elusive to me as well and I have the most terrible luck in Uld. So here is for two chances at either version this week!

Just to be clear... this item says in the tooltip that it has a single charge, and the Thunderstrike weapon created is considered soulbound and cannot be traded. Therefore, you can't use this to pass a Thunderstrike to your entire raid when it drops , and you can't save the charge to pass it to a tank friend later.

If this item drops, please pass it to a tank first so they can create a Thunderstrike for themselves, or if you're a tank yourself, use it and pass it to a dps.

If you want to be greedy, and have both a tank and dps spec that could use both, you can do that as well, but I would definitely consider letting two people reap the benefits, instead of just you.

Also, if this drops and a tank rolls on it, don't yell at him, he probably knows he can get Thunderstrike out of it. If he wins it, feel free to ask him for Shadowstrike. He may want it for his own dps spec, but again, primary specs should have a shot at it first.

This IS an awezome weapon for hunters, but it never drops...im confused abit now cus... Does Shadowstrike ONLY drop and the other kind of Vendorstrike dosnt ? 'cus it would be much better if Hunter / druid should have prio roll on Shadowstrike and tanks / melee could f off to make Vendorstrike number 2rly !

You can, in fact, double your profit with this weapon! Follow these simple steps:

Win this weapon.
Find a buddy in the same raid who could use the expertise version, i.e. Reinforced Thunderstrike.
Trade Shadowstrike to them and let them use the one charge to create Thunderstrike for themselves.
Thunderstrike will automatically become soulbound to your buddy, but Shadowstrike will still have its 2 hours, in which you can trade it. Your friend can just give it back to you.

Everybody wins!

I found out the hard way that if you put Berserking on this weapon, it will not proc Berserking in cat form as a feral druid.

A GM refunded me the mats for the berserking and unenchanted my weapon, in the process giving it another charge... :)

I'm too afraid to enchant it with mongoose now though.

The berserking bug fix is not on patch notes for 3.3 so try your enchant at your own risk >_<

Bugged again as of December 13th. You can right click the polearm to get Thunderstrike and then trade Shadowstrike to somebody that was saved in the raid. They fixed this in the past, but I guess 3.3 broke it again.

so this dropped in my 25 man ony grp today and they linked it for the roll, and someone rolled a 98 and i rolled a 99 and i ended up winning it (was the first item rolled for).

the raid leader didn't give it to me, and everyone rolled off on all the other items then he did like a "re-roll" which didn't matter, their pally (who didn't even win) said "yay i win" and they gave it to him. Well during all this, someone messaged me and was like "omg omg omg can i buy it from you?" but i really needed it so i was like polite but said "i really need it yo! i'z sorrY!" but anyway, i talked to the pally and he said he gave it to his guild mate (the guy who was offering to buy from me) and i just got shafted :(

first time I evar been ninja'd. sucks yo. and you know the killer? yesterday battered hilt dropped and someone accidentally passed on their roll and i won, and he was like "omgomgomgotgomgomg" so i rolled him for it (because i know i'd hate to be in that situation) and he won and i gave it to him. i mean it's just a game, and people are such jerks. this is during the time i been trying to break the 5000gs rating (stuck at 4850ish for right now) and no one will take me to even 10 man raids.

such a messed up game, that people from your own server are just as big or bigger cheats than some random people you get thrown together with in a heroic.

so I iz still stuck at 4850 until like 30 days from now when I can get 2 pieces of gear w/ my frost badges, or someone nice takes me raiding with them :(

This can no longer be traded and spawn Thunderstrike, only the person that first loots the item is able to create Thunderstrike. So if someone wants Thunderstrike and you want Shadowstrike, let the person who wants Thunderstrike receive the item first

guys not sure if this has been asked: but does it proc on a RANGED attack? it might seem very good for a hunter if it does, considering that little 180 life drain (prolly every 45 seconds) is better then my 2 axes i guess...
