Sounds like it would be awesome for any healer that can spam insta-casts, like a shield spamming Disc Priest. Does anyone know if there is a limit to the stack? Can't see one in the tooltip.

If the each consecutive stack renews the previous ones, I believe were looking at 700-800 mp5 from this trinket right before the effect wears off after its 20seconds.

Can't wait until someone finds out the details of this beast of a trinket... No matter who's hands its in, it will be returning a monster load of mana every two minutes to its bearer. If someone gets the inner details of this trinket, expect a spreadsheet with specifics of your mana return soon thereafter.

For Holy paladins, this trinket is probably an upgrade over Pandora's Plea. At over 700 haste rating (no sockets) + 15% from JotP, our HLs are ridiculously fast and would gain a ton from Meteorite. Especially during Blood Lust/Heroism. I'd use Meteorite + DMC:G for combo. (The SP proc from Pandora is typically over-heal)

I seem to remember the 3.2 patch notes saying that any item which gives + XX mana per 5 seconds will have their mana gains increased by approximately 25%...

That would boost this trinket to 75 mp5 per stack.

I wouldnt mind having it =]

For a Paladin, if Beacon of Light is up you get 2 stacks per heal (so it will stack fast even if using Holy Light).

While the tooltip both in-game and here still list it as 60 mp5, if you click on the spell description for Meteoric Inspiration it does show as 75 mp5. I wasn't noticing any combat log entries for mana gained from the buff so I'm unsure of how to actually test it.

Also, using the new totem bar to drop 4 totems at once instantly stacks it to 5 (not sure why 5 instead of 4), which I suppose could be useful if you happen to time it right.

My guild is currently progressing in Ulduar10 Hard-Modes with only Yogg and Iron Council Hard-Modes left. I'm a resto shaman and if we do finnaly meet this guy would the proc on this give me 3 stacks (4 with glyph) from chain heal?

Figuring out the fastest way to stack procs with this trinket is a wasted effort. The best use is to use it on cooldown while performing your normal routine since, if you're going for the most stacks in the least time, unless you are a Paladin (Beacon of Light) you will not be getting as much throughput as you should be doing.

Paladins luck out with this trinket since Beacon counts as a second spell. A well geared one (with 1.3s Holy Lights) will reach 20 stacks in 13 seconds performing the normal routine.

As of 3.3 this item's tooltip still hasn't been updated.

Meteorite Crystal's proc, Meteoric Inspiration, is in fact 75 Mp5, up from the outdated tooltip's 60 Mp5.

The proc has been included in the general +25% buff to Mp5 in patch 3.2:

Mana Regeneration: All items that provide "X mana per five seconds" have had the amount of mana they regenerate increased by approximately 25%.

It's indeed a 25% increase to the original 60 Mp5, going up 15 Mp5 per proc, now meaning a maximum of 1500 Mp5 once you reach a full stack of 20 - the tooltip doesn't mention that clearly but it does cap at 20. As the posts belows have done an estimation of the actual stacking regen's total, I'll now revise it for the current values after these changes.

Trinkets can't be used while you're on the GCD, however they don't cause a GCD themselves. This is important as in this case you can't pre-cast a heal, then trigger Meteorite and get an almost instant proc. Since a previously casted HoT ticks will not trigger it, the only option for the fastest stacking is to cast an eligible instant healing spell right after using the trinket, being limited with, at best, 1 second GCDs after that, using your class tricks for multiple procs from a single cast as much as possible. For simplicity, we'll assume a first cast instantly after the trinket is used (say, as in a macro). Well, you don't get any instant mana from the proc itself (as far as I know), it only increases your Mp5, ticking continuously. So, a proper calculation is meant to include the sum of all the regen that takes place between one size of the stack and the next.

Accurately calculating the above brings us to 3150 mana (1 cast per second = fully hasted GCD).

Instead of posting a formula, I'll make it a bit more intuitive and show how it actually works:

A > Buff uptime (seconds)
B > Stack size per cast (Mp5) - the first proc happening as soon as possible within the first second (0-1)
C > Mana gain between procs (according to the Mp5 value on the upper row over and to the left of it)

Sum of C = 3150 mana restored. At 60 Mp5 per proc this was 2520 before: that's the exact 25% extra that 3.2 brought in.

Now this is where it gets interesting. With 2 procs of the buff per cast for 10 consecutive casts and reaching the full stack earlier, giving a maximum effect for the remainder of the buff's uptime (Holy Paladins with Beacon of Light for example):

1 sec casts: 4650 mana (+1500 mana)

Therefore, optimally used, Meteorite's on use effect would be 4650 mana every 2 minutes, 2325 per minute, 193.75 Mp5.

Add to that the regen your class gets from 111 Intellect and sum it up. For example, a Holy Paladin gets another 62.12 Mp5 (that's from only Divine Plea and Replenishment, both at a theoretical 100% uptime - doesn't include Mana Tide nor Seal of Wisdom procs, nor anything else). That's a whopping ~256 Mp5 out of this trinket alone.

Lastly, the fact that Meteorite had Mp5 on it means it got a special boost, bringing it closer to all of the following tiers' trinkets and making Meteorite more relevant when compared to them.

In case you're left wondering, Solace of the Defeated/Fallen and Binding Light/Stone's Mp5 effects are indeed still accurate since they were only introduced in 3.2 themselves.

As a final note, I find that one is best not including in these calculations the mana that spells cost to cast in order to get the maximum benefit out of the trinket. Since you are getting the normal effect out of those spells, it's not fair to look at it that way, as if the trinket needed to "pay" for the extra spells you'd otherwise not be casting. There's only something to gain from the trinket's Mp5; instead of deducing extra mana costs from getting to the trinket's effect, you'd better play normally and calculate how many stacks you get from your normal spell casting.

That said, waiting for an opportunity where you'd get quicker spell casts or more incoming damage so you could produce higher EHPS out of spamming your quicker heals when they're actually needed, meaning that you'd refrain from using the trinket on CD, would probably be a smaller total of mana returned than if you simply used it under less than optimal circumstances whenever it's available (you'd have to calculate it for every specific situation you're normally facing to be sure).

Even in icc patch this will still be the best trinket for healadins a guy from the best guild in my server has full heroic icc 277 gear and uses this trinket he showed me how it worked it is unbelievably good it works with beacon he reached 20 staks in just 10 seconds by the use of beacon and haste judge it gave him 1500 mp5 however he is the only one in the server who has it from the last 3 servers I've been in to there wasn't any who had it.

He also told me the other 2 healadins in the guilds been farming it for already 19x and there wasn't any drop Lol

This trinket would still be good for other classes but not as good as icc trinkets for simple reasons one is that you don't have beacon second is the int

But this will still be the best healadins trink till cataclysm

Btw interestingly it says 1500 mp5 when it reaches cap staks
he told me the mp5 works while casting to same with his heroic solace of defeat

he regenerated about almost 5 k mana with the use over 20 seconds
combined with 111 intellect this is the best no questions asked

although I tried to do algalon and failed miserably he is pretty hard and that's just the 10 man version our healers already went oom @ 20% that's our best attempt overall our tanks both had 6k gear score and still can be 2-3shot he hits fast as well it's savage and the strategy you really are on a night fedge
fortunately though I got my title because the next week he got me in to his raid was so happy

never go to algalon
and if you did and someone stupid didn't know what he was doing it'd wipe the thing in addittion it has 60 minute timer if you fail to kill him within the minutes then you can't get more deaths anymore and a keyholder guy Is rare to see
also before you can get to him you need to kill all keeper bosses in hard mode funny

I don't really get how you can do the herald of titans achieve and title it's just immense with 219 ilvl gear and a despite the enrage timer everyones gotta do more than 5k with the runs strategy and adds also if 5.5k gear score 3x healers couldn't keep up much long with 2 6k tanks then how is it with 219 that's about 4500 rofl

it really isn't an easy boss
brave healers out there need to know if your gonna do this you have to completely spam spam or it'll kill you in

When I got a chance to do him 2 of our heals were endlessly spamming on tanks
they had about just all the mana they needed to do it

Oh yeah the thing with the 1500 mp5 is that it now gives 15 more per even though it doesn't say but the 3.2 patch said it

I tried to explain the average mana income of this trinket, so here it goes:

It should be: 300+ (300+240) + (300+240+240) + (300+240+240+180) = 2580 mana

Its an interesting mechanism, but not too useful

Holy Paladins that use Rawr, please read:

Rawr does not model this trinket's use effect into it's holy paladin module, this can be solved by editing the item and adding a "Use" effect that restores an amount of mana equivalent to how much you would gain from the use effect in a normal scenario. You can calculate the amount of mana by reading Theolol's comment, and performing your own calculations from there.

For the lazy people, my holy paladin currently has 44.82% haste with raid buffs. Spamming holy light w/ beacon, will restore you a total of 4,136 mana. Take that figure, and just "eyeball it" to a number that is appropriate for your amount of haste.

Ive got a question about this trinket, as ive yet to obtain it myself.. Be free to demote\delete this post if its not to any help..

But, say you pop the trinket, and as a paladin cast a greater blessing on any raid member.. Do you get 1 stack or multiple? ive wanted to test my theory for some time but cant find any info on it :)

Holy paladin BiS, combined with the heroic Solace.
For a disc priest, double solace is probably a better choice due to the passive SP (vs intellect).
