This shell is the demise of engineering income. It is better and cheaper than Thorium Shells which take some high-level mats to create--Thorium and Dense Stone.

If you're an engineer relying on some quick income from crafting Thorium Shells, your audience just became a lot smaller.

Thorium Shells: 17.5 dps, requires lvl 52, sold for ~1g in AH, crafted by engineers. (These were the 2nd best shells in the game prior to patch 2.0. The best were Rockshard Pellets w/ 18 dps, but are a drop from Lord Roccor in BRD and only ~15% drop rate--hard to get a full ammo pouch.)

Impact Shot: 22 dps, requires lvl 55, sold for ~40s by certain General Goods Vendors in each capital city and various other lvl 20+ zones(or sometimes ~1.5g on AH by someone that paid 40s for them. Talk about a markup! Perhaps that's the way engineers can earn money on shells nowadays.)

So, now Thorium Shells have gone the way of Hi-Impact Mithril Slugs and Mithril Gyro Shot.

Sorry engineers, you might be able to still make some $$ off of Hunters and other gun users between the levels of 52 and 54, but once a character reaches level 55, they would be foolish to purchase your ammo.

If in Felwood head north (alliance lev 55 players+) to buy this shot for only just over 12 silver coords 62:25 ish! alot cheaper than still buying the thorium shells needed at lev 52 from Auction House. Flightpath there too.
