This is the zone before you enter Deepholm. You will find Thrall keeping the maelstrom from collapsing into Deepholm.

Because of a constant lack of EPIC feel during the Catclysm Beta, Blizzard put top effort into this area.

Maybe I missed the memo on levels of "epicosity" or something, but I'm pretty sure the Maelstrom is a CLASS 10 epic zone. Though I guess it is missing sharks with laser beams patrolling the waters and Arthur Fonzarelli jumping across it with water skis. And dinosaurs.

After reading this post I called for a meeting with TOP TOP MEN (that's two tops) in order to figure out a solution to the problem at hand. Frankly, I think we hit a home run. The next 4.0 build (or the one after) should have a Maelstrom that's between 10 - 50x more epic than what currently exists.

Leading to the RAREST of all rare spawns in the entire game having a chance of showing up here. The dreaded...

It has never been seen though, as no one has survived an encounter with it...

I look at the map and... Is it possible to get to Lost Isle or Kezan on higher levels? It looks like you can but I need confirmation from someone in beta

Ok, awesome thing that is worth noting. You can visit there as many times as you want.

"But how do we do that...Dude with weird wowhead name!" It's easy! When you take this quest Il Maelstrom from this guy...Naraat l'Oratore della Terra OR maybe even this guy! ; Chiaroveggente Krogar take the portal that they make and when your looking at this guy! Thrall or thrall. Delete it! Now you will be able to take this quest ; Rocciafonda, Regno della Terra do that and your in deepholm, and you will still be able to take the quest and go to the Maelstrom.

The trick above is working - 25.05.11, patch 4.1.
The thing is you won't be seeing the portal to Maelstrom right away, but the quest is available again (and again and again) if you have abandoned it and proceeded to get the Aggra one.
