Geekygal21, the quest level is 12. The minimum level to get the quest is 9. That's what confused you.

I'd do The Kurken is Lurkin' and and Search Stillpine Hold together because they are in the same room in the back of the cave.

Here's a tip! Don't try to tame him! I made the bad mistake of throwing a concussive shot while hammering Tame Beast but i failed :P.

Prelude was correct, you'll get the quest after turning in "Chief Oomooroo" (ID 9573), *not* for "Search Stillpine Hold" - which would be a little bit illogical tbh, since you would have to Kill Kurken before getting the quest to do so.

The trick to easy-mode is: After completing "Chief Oomooroo" Chief yells "Stillpine raiders,the time to strike is at hand, Charge!" and a bunch of Stillpine run from his side to inside the cave to fight the owlbests inside.

Run along with them and cross the small bridge of Chief Oomooroo and go to the path down and jump on the water, wait til the stillpines engage the owlbests so u dont have to fight them and pull Kurken without any adds :>

He is tamable as of patch 3.0 with the 51-point BM talent. He shrinks considerably in size, but is still larger than non-exotic pets. He has a ranged attack "Lava Breath" which "shoots out a double gout of molten lava for fire damage, and reduces the target's casting speed by 50% for 10 seconds. " - Petopia.com

He makes a roaring animation, but there is no corresponding roar - love that fixed - and when he runs, he rumbles and shakes the ground, like the Devilsaurs in Un'goro Crater.

If you actually save ANY of your Elixir of Lion's strength from the quest https://www.wowhead.com/cata/quest=9303 Inoculation, then you should have no problem. Maybe it was also easy for me because I cast blessing of Might, so I got a +24 strength buff. While he may not have any uncommon drops or anything, like Chieftain Oomoroo does- https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=3288 -it's worth the experience for everything.

The Kurken is really not hard to kill... at all. I'm a lvl 12 hunter and I thought it was a bit too easy so you guys will do awesome on it too. ^-^

Before you can do any of the Stillpine quests you have to learn their language through this quest chain.

The Kurken is lurkin' at 49,12. For those who aren't using coords: just enter the cave and go straight in, and then go left where the 'road' forks. Kill a couple of the other mobs on the way down in the passage, and there he is.

I'm L11 and can get the other quests in Stillpine hold, but Kurz has no quest for me. Do I need to do the other "enter Stillpine Hold" quests first? Are there other prerequisites not listed here?

Edit: when I turned in the "kill the chief and 9 owlkin" quest, the Kurken one opened up. I didn't gain a level, so that must have been a prereq.

I found it easy. Killed him by myself at lvl 9 Hunter. First time.
Our speical ability helped, thats all. The rest was pure skill. and abit of luck. lol =D

its best to go at him at lvl 10. You will get good exp and not die alot. :)

Go for it. He's in the cave, at the water near the crystal. As you enter the cave go down the main path just abit to the left.

The Search Stillpine Hold quest is an unlisted prerequisite for this quest.

The Kurken is a very weak 12th-level creep. From what I've heard, you can't tame him. (Too bad...)

Just after entering the cave, you will see the cave start to go up on the right. Before you get there, look for an opening on the left. It's a easy to miss but that's the way to Kurken.

It's a two headed wolf that spawns at the bottom of the Stillpine Hold.

You kill him and get the red crystal, then you kill him when he respawns.
They should let you auto-win for that. You don't have to kill him twice.

After the crystal storm had subsided, a beast of myth appeared in our village. Brought here by the invading wildkin, this beast, the Kurken, laid waste to our village. Many Stillpine were slain in defense of our lands by this fiend and many have since lost their lives attempting to subdue the beast.

In my visions, I have seen one defeat the Kurken. The one must be you, <name>. You are our only hope. Enter Stillpine Hold and slay the Kurken. Bring me his hide as proof of deed.
