The quest NPC can be found at 48,86. If you go up the ramp to the keep and kill all the guards there and go passed the entrance to the keep you can see him at a tent down below.

The actual quest can be solod; I done it as a level 27 priest. What you do is clear the way down to the bottom of the keep and kill the NPC's in both side rooms before you go right down to the bottom. There is also a guard in the middle between the two staircases which you also kill. To get the chest you need to clear 5 guards 4 of them between 24-26 and the boss is level 30. When you doo this pull you get two guards and the boss, so use crowd control if you have it; I used Slumber sand from the quest https://www.wowhead.com/cata/quest=368 - I used this on the level 26 NPC. The must important thing to remember is these guys run when they get to about 100-150 health so you need to stop them or you get into trouble.After you clear all the NPC's you can get the gem from the box behind where the boss was. I would suggest getting help unless you are confident you can do it.

If there no riflemen, you can sealth, get on the mantle of the fireplace and loot the chest and the mobs won't be able to hit you.

As mentioned above you can loot the quest item without killing General Twinbraid or the mobs around him.

As you enter the keep, hang a left and head down the left side of the keep until you reach the stairway heading downwards. Take that stairway down and you will be in the General's room.

Once in the General's room, run all the way to the back where you'll see a fireplace. You can jump on top of it from either side. It'll cause all the melee mobs - General included - to evade, so you can loot the chest in front of the fireplace.

If there are riflemen they will shoot at you from up top. If this happens keep resetting the mobs and changing positions until you manage to de-aggro the riflemen. I jumped down and came up from different sides a couple times until they stopped shooting.

The alternative is to fight the general - level 30 - and the four mobs surrounding him all at once.

Just to let you all know it appears they've fixed this little issue. When you try to open the chest to loot the Tear, the general and a couple of his mobs all get ported to right on top of the fireplace. Was a nice shortcut while it lasted.

I managed to pull the general and 2 mobs, leaving two mobs behind. Im not sure how i did this, but i suppose bodypulling from the side can work (i just went down the stairs a bit, but thats the first time that ever worked for any of my characters)

To get to the quest giver you have to go infront of Bael Modan and down the hill, he's walking in and out of his tent. To get the quest item it's inside, the picture describes it best on where it is.

Did this solo as 28 Warlock. There are 6 dwarves in the room - one close to the stairs and four around the general. And of course, the general himself. The five mobs around the main guy are lvl23-25ish, the general is lvl30.

The dwarf close to the stairs I body pulled solo. After that, I pondered whether to send my pet in or manually pull. I figured dot pull and Suffering after is safer, so I pulled one of the guards with corruption and ended up with three mobs - one of them the general. I just had my voidy tank them and took them down one by one. After, I picked up the leftover guards and looted the chest. Easy if you don't get them all at once.

Completing this quest will kill Feegly. Upon completing the quest, Feegly will use the item and become a Trog, then die.

For the record....the chest is no longer on the mantle. It is on the floor in front of the fireplace. And when you are on the mantle, you can not do damage to the dwarves. You must fight the dwarves to get to the chest...rezzing on the mantle doesn't help accomplish the mission.

Soloed as a 24 warlock. Just ran in and died next to the mantle (trying to jump on it from the wrong side, lol), then ran back as a ghost and jumped onto the mantle and raised. Stupid rifleman wasn't letting me open it, so I feared him and opened it. Then I leapt off the mantle and got shredded as a celebration.

Easily soloable for a rogue:

stealth in... sap the one rifleman guard in the lower area by the general... jump onto the mantle... loot the chest from the mantle, this will agro the room, but not the sapped rifleman, so you should have no interruptions... vanish... stealth out.

Corpse run or fight your way in, jump down into the room and die, ress on top of the fire place, kill the Rifleman and loot. Now die again. Now ress either at a safe spot inside or if your lucky you can ress outside.

Did as a lvl 23 mage. Died and jump onto fireplace mantle...you still aggro one Rifleman. I sheeped him, then looted chest. Then ran like hell..until I died. Worth doing it though! Good luck!

Soloed as a rogue. however as stated above, I found it much to frusterating to sap the rifleman and try to jump up on the mantle (which can be a pain) all in the 25 secconds alloted by sap. My varation was dropping down on the rifleman, popping evasion and removeing him from the equasion alltogether. Vanish and take youre time with the mantle, and if that doesnt work and you get killed why you can just ressurect on the darn mantle and the room will aggro noone will attack sence youre "on the mantle" there is no rifleman and you can loot the chest, even recieve the ability to restealth somehow! and go youre merry way.

Solo'd as a 26 warlock (all points in afffliction). I cleared everything above the pit. Then I sent my voidy in and used "Suffering" to draw all aggro on him. I was able to loot just as he died. Sacrificed in time. And ran out. Would have worked better to have recalled the voidy and then told him to attack with them at the top of the steps). I ran out but ended up getting mauled by mobs that had respawned (I had been in there awhile).

Even if you're soulstone is used up the GY it's a short walk (30 seconds tops).

Soloed at lvl 30 prot pala.. i had to use all my cooldowns in order to do this.. I nuked the coronel first ( consecration used all the time ) then i started to kill one by one ( after target flees I attack another ). I had to use shield, heal myself, lay on hands, mana potion...but in the end they were all dead ^^

Soloed on level 24 hunter. Cleared the guards on the top of the steps, everything but the lvl 30 and his 4 guards. Got near the top right ledge and used "eyes of the beast". Aggroed all 5 guys by the chest with the pet, ran pet upstairs into a room and hit stay. Cancelled eyes of the beast, looted chest. Pet was slaughtered shortly thereafter. I almost made it outside into daylight and died myself, but the quest is done.

Annoying as my 24 Paladin, the dude with the gun kept interupting the "Cast" to loot the box, but eventually he missed and that gave me JUST enough time to loot the box. Just keep at it and eventually you'll get it.

Extremely easy to complete by just dying and then resurrecting on the mantle. Did as a 24 hunter BM Hunter. Res, deal with the ranged mob(s) and then loot. Getting out is another story :/ And poor Feegly, I guess the Tear of Moons was too much for him to handle.

Easy at lvl 22, just do following:
1) Die near chest with Tear of Moons
2) Ressurect On the shelf (or whatewer it is) above fire
-Because Mobs can't get to you, they will be only staring at you
3) Loot Chest while standing on the shelf.
4) Then Hearthstone or die and get out of there.
- 25s and XP are worth 2 dies at lvl 22.

I found this very easy as a lvl 30 druid - stealthed in as a cat, hopped onto the mantel, killed the rifleman, looted the chest, and hearthed out. Getting onto the mantel was the only tricky part - I finally did it by jumping on a box on the front, right side and jumping to the mantel from there. Of course most people will probably want to do this quest earlier (I picked it up late anyway)...but considering the hassle that the other commentators went through, it was nice to do it later and skip the headache.

I just did this using the Mantle strategy, with my 23 warrior.

I stood on the far right, beside the stone pillar, which took me out of line of sight of the rifleman. Edging carefully towards the box I was able to loot it without getting interrupted by the rifleman.

Soloed this as a 32 fury warrior, without dying. I made my way in as you would normally, and when i got to the room, i killed the dwarf by the stairs, and hamstrung him to prevent him from pulling the other guards with twinbraid. After I killed him, I sat down and let my health regenerate to full. I then charged in, and my first instinct was to use retaliation, which did an amazing job. I then cleaved until all the guards were dead, and I barely managed to live. Needless to say, I survived, and looted the chest without any deaths. =)

Found this easier then I thought it was going to be after reading all these comments. I just took it slow with every pull. Got pretty messy once I was in the room >< But I lived.

I did it as a level 28 MM Hunter, just wearing quest greens. I wouldn't recommend anyone lower to do it unless your doing it as a group or very geared.

But then there's always the Mantle strategy =P

Did this as a level 26 rogue. They appear to have increased the sensitivity of the mobs, so that even if you're in the back corner of the mantelpiece, they'll still aggro if you try to open the box.

What I wound up having to do is, I stealthed in, sapped the add on the left nearest the fireplace, jumped up onto the mantelpiece, and opened the box from as far back in the corner as possible. I still entered combat after a moment, but all the mobs that aggroed were melee, so I was able to finish opening the box before anyone hit me. Then I Vanished.

It helps to turn auto-loot on for this.

Solo'd as a 23 shammy ran in as far as I could and died. Rez'd on top of the mantle. Threw down a Stoneclaw totem to taunt the rifleman. Looted the box and high tailed it out of there. Had to pop a pot to make it out and then an Earthbind Totem on the way out as well.

I accidentally soloed this two days ago as a level 28 Protection Paladin. After picking up the quest and reading the other comments from people who died attempting this quest I wasn't sure if I wanted to try it, but after pondering it for a minute I thought "eh, worse that can happen is I die and do a corpse run." But to even my own surprise I pulled it off. I cleared the entry to the keep and made my way down stairs where the Tear of the Moon is located. I cleared the two mobs at the top of the stairs. I spent a minute looking the place over to see what my best attack was going to be. I couldn't get a good angle on one part of the room so I went halfway down the stair case for a better look, aggroed a rifleman that was on the right hand side of the stair case and the entire room came at me! I kited the entire group to the top of the stairs, popped Righteous Fury, Blessing of Wisdom, Retribution Aura then Seal of Righteousness, Judgement of Light and Consecration. Melee till the cool downs expire then repeat. By the end of the second cycle I healed and repeated the process third time. By the end of the third time, 3 of the 6 guys were dead. Of the remaining three, Ironhill ran back to the fireplace, the rifleman ran to the bottom of the stairs and one guy kept aggro on me. I meleed him till he was dead, ran after the rifleman and it only took a Seal of Rightousness - Judgement of Light to finish him off and after he dropped Ironhill came back for more. I gave him SoR, JoL, Hammer of Justice and then popped Consecration to DoT him while stunned. He dropped 2 seconds later. I healed, looted the Tear and all the corpses on my way out.

I soloed it as a 26 hunter. I screwed up on the run away. I sent my pet in, aggroed everyone then i looted it and ran away.

What I should not have done
Laid my freeze trap at the door, I should have waited for my first aggro guard.
Should not have called pet back to me, that only the group was clsoer to me when he died.

Made sure as many guards as possible were dead between me grabbing the item and running through everyone.

I didn't stand a chance but when I ressed I didnt have a problem clearing the rest of the way out of the building.

Simply running into all the mobs and repeatedly clicking the chest can yield the Tear of Moons. I ran in as a priest and was able to loot this before the 6 mobs killed me.

The ending to this quest is the quest giver turning into a Trogg, then dying. Given what we know of lore... some of which we've learned in Northrend... it seems the crystal made the Curse of Flesh worse. Troggs and Dwarves both came from Earthen afflicted by the curse and it seems reasonable to suppose that Troggs are an extreme effect. I figure this crystal is either an artifact of the Titans or more likely an artifact of the Old Gods. Either way, it was certainly cursed.

Just did it as a lvl 25 shaman. First I put totem for armor then I pulled the general so all the mobs came. Then I used Earthbind Tottem quickly ran to the box with the item war stomped and looted the tear. Then of course I died of course but at least I got the item.

To get to the actual box you need to go DOWNSTAIRS when in the Keep. I just assumed it was upstairs because it's *always* upstairs, but after ten minutes of barely staying alive thought I'd better check out downstairs - and there it was, sparkly box and all.

You need to run in, turn right and head right to the end of the corridor, into the little room. There's a some steps down there, and you go down them, through the door and you're in the room with the chest you need. I suspect the building is probably symmetrical but I didn't try going left so I can't vouch for that direction.

I solo'd this as a level 24 rogue, but I wouldn't have been able to do it legitimately. I snuck into the room and when I was spotted, hit evasion and rushed over to the box. I hit vanish, which distracted all the mobs long enough for me to loot the box before I died. Then I resurrected myself upstairs and snuck out again.

must say this can be done really easy at any lvl (depends if you can get trough, to the actual place) Anyhow, what i did was to unstealth (yes im a rogue) on the edge upstairs, Then him and all his adds came UP after me, so what i did, i just jump down and looted the chest and vanished. Simple :)

Just soloed it as a level 26 warrior.

My method was to pull the add between the two stairs leading down to the room with my taunt because I had no ranged weapon, getting him low enough to run away in fear and having him run to one of the adds in the room, solo pulling one of them since mechanics are different in a situation like this and the entire room will not be linked. After first add was pulled, I let the fleeing mob get up and finished him off and did the exact same thing with the newly pulled mob. I repeated this step until there was just two level 26 mobs left, went down and finished them after eating up and being back to full health.

I most likely would not have managed this without first aid, I used bandage whenever they were off cooldown and the current mob was running down to get a new one. There is also a possibility of the mob not running down to the lower room but instead running to the sides, either you can kill it and rest up and use another mob from upstairs or wait for respawns and try it all over again.

I did this because I love a good challenge in the game. Clever use of game mechanics, nothing more to it. Good luck if you try it yourself!

If abusing resurrection isn't below you, then this quest is easy to solo.

Make your way to the basement floor, doing the quest Revenge of Gann Revenge of Gann as you go and when you're done try getting the Tear. What you should do is get killed and resurrect on top of the fireplace. From there the glitchabuse continues, as only the rifleman in the room seems to get aggro so depending on your class you can kill him off easily. This is not important, since your main objective is to pick up the Tear from top of the fireplace. Then you either manage to run out or not but you still have the Tear to show your mighty deed.

An interesting strat for doing this at a lower level as a shaman (around 25) is run in, drop your Stoneclaw Totem, have it taunt, loot the box, and book it. If you're lucky you'll live, but you'll probably die, but the quest is done, right?

Sometimes the captain and the box are on the last level of the keep, right next to the beds... people that are familiar with dwarven constructs will not have a problem with finding him.

I soloed this as a level 26 arcane mage. I put up mana shield along with my usual buffs, sheeped Twinbraid, and then ran to the side of the pit to force the rifleman to chase me on foot along with the rest of the mobs. Then I hit them with Frost Nova, Blizzard, and then about two Arcane Explosions which was enough to bring them all down. After that it was just a matter of soloing Twinbraid, which isn't too hard (he only has around 1k hitpoints).

Be warned that you may experience several misses against Twinbraid unless you have a lot of hit on your gear. This applies to Polymorph as much as it does anything else. If you pull Twinbraid with the rest of the room, there's a fairly good chance that the group will wipe you out.

run in wolf form into the keep (skipping all the outside mobs) and throwing down an earthbind totem as soon as you enter the keep to slow them down. run to the right, then straight through the room, then jump down the stairs to your right (you will die right about here) and try to land your dead corpse downstairs. while running into the keep it helps a little to throw down healing totems to try to give you a better chance at getting further, but dont waste health potions on this.

release spirit and run from the insanely close graveyard to your body. if you landed downstairs you should be able to res on the far side of the room where the box is. RES ON TOP OF THE BOX and IMMEDIATELY throw down a stoneclaw totem. every mob (including the boss) will attack this totem, giving you time to loot the box and die, then res at the graveyard or above your body on the upstairs of the keep and run out.

i managed to res upstairs in the entryway and run t the quest giver without dying.

Soloed as a lvl 23 rogue. First time I ran in not knowing what 2 expect, and died in the process.
Then I looked up this page and saw I needed to sap the rifleman. I quickly ressed and vanished near him and sapped him in the vanish. After that it was an evasion run up that mantle to a point they couldn't attack me from the ground and a quick loot. Died after that again, but got the quest done :)

I'm not sure that this ques is still available as of 7-21-2010. As I have killed General TwinBraid twice and have not been able to loot the chest behind him.

This quest is still do able. Being nice to a lowbie finally paid off. I escorted him inside and saw him open the chest. For anyone like me that is having trouble finding this quest. The quest giver is out side the keep. He is on the ridge behind the mine. Coor 48,86

Horrible quest. Normally, named NPCs are either elite or slightly fatter, but this level 30 - is a total abuse. Despite any possibilities of 2 add pull and crowd control - soloing this guy while he is red (all levels below 26) is hardly possible. If you are not a hunter, warlock or overgeared healable class - use the hint of looting a box and corpse running.

Easy for every class ..............just fight your way to the stairs. Run down and get killed. Release, run back and position yourself behind the chest.....res and quickly open the chest.....yes you will die again, but with the tear in your backpack....enjoy ;-)

Thoughts from a levle 28 Warrior:
To get to the chest containing the quest item you have to enter the keep and go down one floor. The chest is in a lower floored area with two sets of stairs going down to it. There are a total of 6 dwarves down there, the highest being level 30 the rest being 26s, or similiar.
The one at the base of the stairs can be pulled alone, just by proximity as I couldn't get Line of Sight for a gun shot. The next pull I could get three alone by a proximity pull, the levle 30 and two regular guys.
I probably could have soloed this pull if I didn't waste my retaliation with a corpse being selected as a target, so all my specical effects and moves weren't happening. Needless to say one ran off and pulled the remaining two and I died.
Found a level 28 Warlock to party with me and it was easy enough. Even with adds. The chest doesn't despawn after a person loots it, but the quest giver has some....less than desireable, although not hostile effects from the "Tear of the Moon", but he's back to normal soon enough, perhaps a minute or so.

The quest giver is in a small tent very close to the entrance to the Bael Modan keep. If you are standing at the big gates to the castle, go directly south and you will see the tent, a little below you. The tear of the moons itself is in a box, in the basement of the castle. Guarding it is a level 30 named and 4 level 26 soldiers/riflemen/officers. If you pull any of those 4, you will get a 3 pull - 2 normal guys and the named 30. After clearing it all out and getting the tear of the moons, take it back to that same tent near the entrance. The NPC will get a bad case of mutation and die, but will respawn shortly after, so other party members can hand in their quest. The named 30 you have to kill is not elite, has no special abilities and doesn't drop anything of interest.

Just did this quest with my 33 rogue. It was a little tricky to get the pulling sequence down right, but I finally did. After you go into the keep, go down one floor. Kill the two guards that are at the bottom of the first set of stairs and on the catwalk over the room with the fireplace, respectively. There's a guard between the two sets of stairs. Stealth, drop down, take him out first. Go back up the stairs and shoot the guard closest to the stairs. This will pull the level 30, and the other two (totalling 3). Concentrate on killing the level 30 and then vanish. Then, stealth down and sap the guard that you had just pulled. Kill the other (level 26 or so) and then come back to deal with the sapped guard. Repeat on the other side of the room. And there you have it! The chest will be all yours.

I did this with my 28 warlock. Just pull the one closest from the stairway. After that one is down just pull the 3 other guys. Concentrate on the lvl30 and kill him. Then corrution and *!@# on the second one. Sacrifice your VW who is nearly dead anyway, while shielded summon anotherone and then kill off te rest. Easy as pie.

Just soloed this as a 27 Rogue. I thought I would have to vanish but I didn't. Here's what I did: I sapped the mob that was at the top left corner, then ran back up the stairs. Next I pulled the mob closest to the stairs on the left side, bringing the 30 with him. I killed the first mob that was 24, then popped evasion started wailing on the 30, at which time my sap ran out and the 26 came. I killed the 30 fast and then killed the 26. After I got my health back up, I sapped one of the two remaining mobs and killed the other, then killed the last one and got the chest.

I discovered this quest as a lvl 26 shaman doing Revenge of Gann (I saw the ! on the minimap). Now, a lvl 26 shaman will have a lot of trouble with the final room, so I cleared up to the final room with my Shaman to get my Gann quest items then cleared the final room with my Hunter alt, so I could nabb the chest and get both quests done at the same time.

Soloed as 26 hunter. Died 3x. (but hey cheap repair). Clear up to the final room, set FT, wait 30s. Pet takes officer, you pull general to trap. If you are lucky he wont resist. If not, lay another one. While pet is busy getting slaughtered, i ran to chest, opened it, and died. done!

49 -84 is keep entrance and quest giver is at 49 - 86.
Did the quest with a lvl 25 druid and lvl 25 hunter. It was hard, but no deaths. The last pull brought 4 on us. Hunter kept agro while druid healed hunter and pet.

When you do this quest, look out for the lvl 27 Elite. I killed him thx to Freezing Trap.

At this lvl it's simple to kill two but have that Freezing Trap handy if you pull 3. Got killed once, only because Freezing Traps don't work all the time anymore, thx Blizz. I also have lvl 65 Hunt.

Soloed it as a 22 druid. I killed the rifle men upstairs. Then went out onto the edge of the balcony inside, and agroed the whole group downstairs. Waited till they came to me and I jumped down and climbed up onto the Fire. You will then have 1x Rifleman shooting at you 26-27. Just spam moonfire and heal yourself with greater heals.
And loot when he's dead.

verry simple q for a rouge or druid(need to steath so at least lvl 20) you just have to steath in climb up onto the mantle peace and kill the one rifleman (26/27) then you can take the chest and stealth back out! :P

The Tear of the Moons is inside the box in front of the fire, and behind Twinbraid.

Twinbraid is a level 30 non-elite, and has several other dwarves, like the ones you encounter in the rest of the keep, around him. They aggroed when we tried to pull him, but I'm not sure if that's because they're attached to him, or because of our level.

My level 25 priest and a level 26 mage just did this quest. We accidentally aggroed the whole room, but managed to survive, with some quick thinking. It's doable, but somewhat challenging

me,(lvl 25 warlock) and a friend (lvl 27 druid) did this quest.
1) You may die here but it is worth it, keep your pet the aggro on the 30 non-elite. Kill his guards.
2) This is simple, Take a mana potion, let the druid heal. Then Do as much DPS you can on the 30 non-elite.
3) If it was too hard and both died, go ress in the stairs and get full health/mana.
4) Let the druid Ambush him and take 15% health. The druid should go bear form and be a tanker,you Should just do "Rain of fire" and "Shadow Bolt" (he resists DOTS).

I did this as a lvl 25 warlock, just used my pet to tank for when it cam to the room with the lvl 30 in, just ran round the back and grabbed the chest while they were all pulled. Most likely you will lose your pet, but summon him back up, and grab some soul shards before you leave

I actually was able to pull off the whole thing without killing any of the dudes at all. Since there is only 1 rifleman the close range guys cant get you on the mantelpiece. I stealthed there as a 28 rogue, put on evasion and clicked on the box. Usually, hell miss so that your box opening wont be interrupted and you can grab the gem! Otherwise up your throwing proficiency and kill him with your long range attack. I dont know if i was lucky but this might work for lower levels too

Another thing thats easy to forget... If you are a rogue use crippling poisen on your weapons so that when the Dwarves start running they have less of a chance to pull other guys!

Level 24 hunter. Did this alone. Sent my pet in to aggro all. He got killed, but that happens. I looted the chest while pet aggro was holding. Ran out. Quest done.

A little challenging but managable as a 23 Sub. Rogue. Clear out the top shelf of mobs before the stairway. Then distract the 30 and the rifleman (there is only one Rifleman). Use your sprint while stealthed and Sap the Rifleman. Break stealth and run back up the stairs to the ledge closest to the box. Let them get as close as possible and pop your evasion. If all works well then sprint will still be up to get you to the box fast. You wont need to kill anything and if the rifleman does shoot after sap breaks your evasion should keep your nose clean till you get the Tear... Pop Vanish and bolt... Easy as 123. :oD

I soloed this as a 25 hunter but i do have to say i cheated a bit, i sent my pet in to attack twinbraid and that aggroed everybody in the room, then jumped behind them from the balcony opened chest and by that time i tried to run out but died, but do not try this unless you jump over the balcony, cuz if you take the stairs youll aggro like two of the guards. easy quest did as 29 hunter paniced abit when i seen all them but took down lvl30 froze one guy and got pet to aggro other two and picked them all off easy as can be for a hunter really

Attempted this quest as a level 25 rogue, and have come very close to success. I found a strategy a rogue can use to complete this quest without having to deal with any confrontation. I'm confident that in a level or two I could pull it off successfully.

It makes the best use possible of the Distract ability. First, the rogue needs to sneak directly between the fireplace and Twinbraid's strongbox. This may be difficult for low level rogues, since Twinbraid has a good possibility of detecting them. Coming from the left staircase, the rogue should leap the railing onto the desk, (While stealthed of course), and climb over the desk. There should be a small gap between the barrels and the wall; sneak behind the barrels to avoid the officer in front of them completely. Move out the other side of the barrels, and get between the chest and fireplace.

Now it's just a matter of throwing a distraction DIRECTLY in front of Twinbraid. My distraction managed to attract the attention of every dwarf in the room EXCEPT for Twinbraid; when I attempted to unlock the chest, he is the only one who detected me and fought me off.

Yes, I did this as a 25 warlock. Just sent my voidwalker in to aggro everything, grabbed the Tear of the moons, then just as my woidwalker was about to die, sacrificed, and ran out. No death, easy! ^^ If you are a lock, this works brilliantly. I'm sure as a hunter it could work too, just without the sacrifice bit :)

all you need is 2 people at lest lvl 23 while one of u attackes boss while other gets quest iteam than do the the same thinge for the other guy. you should die only once

soloed it at lvl 27 hunter.i made my pet bear which is my tank pet attack twinbraid all the other soldiers and stuff went to attack him i hurried over too the chest got the tear of moon and died

Just solo'd this quest with a 28 pally. I'm spec'd for protection, using the guide found here.

i ended up pulling Twinbraid - tried to pull some of his adds, but Twinbraid's aggro range was HUGE - three soldiers, an officer and a rifleman. bubbled Consecration when they were all on me, let my shield spike whittle away at them SoJ/JoJ on twinbraid, when i got low i popped DP, healed up, then kept swinging. spammed consecration, SoCrusader, got low health again after clearing twinbraid, LoH, then cleaned the rest up. at the end had 300 health and a completed quest. Not too rough.

Never could have solo'd this with my rogue at the same level. :P

1. clear path to main room (where lvl 30 guy is)
2. aggro him and all his lackeys.
3. run fast, away, away, untill you leave combat. the lvl 30 guy and his friends evade bug.
4. run ASAP back to the room, loot the box, and run away again before they spawn back. easy.

Quest Giver Feegly is located at/around 48,94 in Southern Barrens. He has a single tent and is on a plateau midlevel between the main mining camp and the fortress.

There are 2 lv 24-25 riflemen on the balcony, and one hidden behind some boxes in an alcove at the bottom of the stairs. General Twinbraid is downstairs, and has 2 officers, and like 3 riflemen surrounding him. Its possible to pull 3 of Twinbraid's bodyguards (but Twinbraid will chase you no matter what), and you can also pull a James Bond and drop into the alcove to dispatch the hidden rifleman easily, without adds.

My results (at LV32)

Experience gained: 2450
Received 25 Silver

(and some funny animation -- psycho dwarf!)

For any warlocks that are doing this, but are too low level to kill all the guys down there:

I read what Soorgie and his friend did and so I decided to try it solo with my level 26 warlock, tanking with my voidwalker. After clearing my way down to the hall and killing the riflemen and soldiers at the adjacent small rooms (with the stairs) using succubus, I sent my VW in to kill Twinbraid, let all the guards etc attack the voidwalker, walk around, drop down at the chest, open, loot, and then run. I managed to drop, open, loot and get half way up the stairs before the WV died. I saw one guy following me and tried to kill him but died. Ressed at spirit healer.

If you're looking for what is in the box near the boss of the Bael Modan Keep, this is the quest that will let you open it.

Feegly is behind the mine, up on the hill in a tent. (go between the mine and the keep to get there fairly safely.)

Enjoy, oh, and the Humor of this quest, makes it worth doing even if it was grey to you. Blizzard has one warped sence of humor thats for sure!

I don't see what you guys find funny about this quest... He doesn't eat the tear of the moon... He holds it, yells, and turns into a trog, drops the crystal, then dies in his tent. It's not funny, the silver reward sucks, this quest was a waste of time

lol i'm lvl 23 hunter, i just send in my pet to attack twinbraid and when he pulled everyone i opened the box took the tears and ran xD
finished it and got nice exp :D

I finally managed this as a 26 hunter. I died three times before success, I finally just had my pet attack as I stood upstairs, then put him on passive so he'd run back to me. Then I 'told' him to Stay while I ran down to loot the chest. That was just far enough away to let me loot it before all 5 mobs ran back down and killed me. It's not possible to avoid pulling all 5 since the named has such a huge aggro radius, at least not at level 26.

like the druid suggested, stealth in, work your way around the room, use the items near the fire to jump on the mantle, and open the box up there. Stealth again, and sneak back out. Watch out though, Twinbraid has a big aggro radius - he caught me and I had to vanish, but otherwise I didn't have to kill a single person, nice and easy theft.

I wasn't sure what the other posters meant by their description of feegly's location...

Head up the path toward the keep, but instead of turning into the entrance, keep going straight.. You'll drop down to a plateau where you'll find feegly's tent.

Just stealth by everything jump up on the fireplace mantle and open the chest, everything bugs cept the marksmen and you can just nuke them down.

I beat this mob with a 27 hunter 27 lock, hunter died because his arrow hit before the pets did damage. lock was able to keep room clear as the mobs respawn one at a time unlike some areas were the whole group respawn at the same time.

Feegly the Exiled is located at 49.86, in a tent south, and down a hill from Bael Modan Keep, east and up the hill from the dig site.

The quickest route (for me) to get to Twinbraid was to go right from the entrance to the keep, and stay on the right 'til you get to the first set of stairs leading down.

I followed foereaper's advice and after clearing the ads in the adjacent rooms, I pulled the lone dwarf between the stairs with Immolate and Corruption because she isn't linked to the others. I then added Curse of Recklessness to stop her from running and killed her. Then I sent my Voidwalker down to aggro Twinbraid's guards, followed him down and Feared Twinbraid so my voidwalker would last longer. Ran down behind the table and looted his strongbox, then ran out. I then Sacrificed my Voidwalker for the 30 second shield, and ran out and straight to Feegly with my fingers poised to use my Lesser Healthstone and Healing Potion. Ran past his tent until I lost aggro, then turned it in. Simple! I love pets.

Unless you HAVE to kill Twinbraid (because you can't use a pet/stealth/fear) it's really not worth it, as he doesn't drop anything useful. So my advice is to not even bother trying to kill him.

Got back to Feegly, gave him the Tear.
He ate it....and !

Done this quest being level 24 warrior with 26 warrior. One distracts, other loots chest, then resurrect - and change roles :) Rather simple and very funny.

Quest item is in the lowest floor of the keep. In front of it are 4 mobs + named captain.
Unfortunately the bug, when you could climb to the fireplace mantle and loot from then is no longer working in new classic and you have to kill them.
Forget about pulling them 1 by 1.. you get at least 3 every time...

Done with hunter solo at lvl 26. Have 2 die twice tho.
Run as close to the chest and die if couldnt open the chest in time.
Come back as a ghost, ressurect away from npc but on the same floor as chest, call pet put on defend/growl.
Pull everyone onto the stairs(You can also send pet and retreat). Once they on the stairs and pet got aggro jump down leave pet behind. Open box, pick the loot. (Die again :))

If you do this quest in a group you'll be waiting at the NPC for approximately 3 minutes after one person turns it in. He's goes mad, turns into a Trogg, dies, then respawns approx 3 minutes later for the next person to turn it in.

The chest can be opened while in combat.
So a warlock or hunter can agro all npcs and open the chest.

No need to trying doing this alone as druid because it's impossible to solo. All the guys will aggro and it's like 4-6 mobs. When they get low hp they start fleeing and will pull even more mobs. You need to be in a group to do this. I was fully buffed with elexirs and all kinds of stuff, used every trick and still it doesnt work. They are too many and hit too hard.

Tried this as a 24 shaman in classic, but failed. My strategy was to body pull them, run up the stairs, and drop a stoneclaw totem before I jumped down to loot the box. Unfortunately the totem only has 168 health so it died really fast. The mobs have a range attack, so they shot me and interrupted opening the box. I don't see another way of doing this so I'm just aborting this quest.

Turn-in blows. I did the quest with someone else. He turned it, the quest giver converted and then disappeared. I had to wait almost five minutes to turn it in myself.

Dunno if it is worth it. 25s and 2450xp at level 24.

Managed to solo as a 24 rogue, stealthed through most of the fort, jumped on top of the mantle above the fireplace, and looted the chest from there while the mobs couldn't reach me. One rifleman had a gun, but a few attempts at opening the chest was all it took before I got it and escaped with vanish.

Those dirty excavators uncovered it... so beautiful it was. Deemed the Tear of the Moons, it was the first great discovery we made at Bael Modan.

It should have been mine! Mine I say!

General Twinbraid grew jealous of the power it gave me. He locked it away in the Keep. Called it cursed, he did! The fool!

Others wanted it and they had to be stopped! That fiend Twinbraid drove me off.

Now I want it back. Back I say!
