They are tiny little mounds of snow that have the quest objective glitter to them. Since your cub will follow you at warp speed even while flying, you can just summon the cub, mount up, and fly from mound to mound to complete the quest.

Simply bring your cub close to one of the mounds. The cub will pounce on the mound, and the player will see the emote
Winterspring Cub pounces on the snow-covered hare burrow (View comments on that page for coordinates to some of the burrows I've found) If you don't have coordinates, most of the burrows are in the middle area between: Frostsaber Rock, The Hidden Grove, and Starfall Village.

Also, if you're doing offline things, these mounds regen very quickly - and the cub will just keep pouncing every time it comes back, so you can just get him to one, make sure there's no mobs nearby and do something else for a few minutes and he'll keep pouncing every time it comes up until he reaches five times.

When flying in the air on a mount it now dissmisses the cub, well at least this happens to me.

This is not working for me... not sure why, but I have tried everything. Please advise.

While doing this at lvl 85, using a flying mount and having your cub out at the same time is a time-saving way to do it. Just running around at 100% speed over mounts makes it a bit less of a hassle to summon etc.

The cub can be out along with your mount IF, you do not fly.
If you keep your bird on the ground the cub will not unsummon.

I also believe you can use a ground mount, haven't tested it.
