One of the first 2 group quests i have seen in Cata.

Solo'd as a fresh lvl 85 Affliction lock, blue berry pet taunting and chain fearing.

This guy is NOT easy.

He hits for 12k when I'm in cat form, and 7k when i'm in bear form (these are non-crit hits) and he has 465k hp.

Ferals: Do NOT try to go toe to toe with him in cat form if you're in quest gear. Go bear right away.

Just wanted to say that because all the comments on wowhead for this guy kept going on about how easy he was to solo, which led me to nearly die (thank you shadowmeld).

~~On another note for druids who DO want to solo him: glyphed roots + aquatic form (to swim out of range) is your friend when you need to heal yourself.~~

*He was patched so that he can no longer be snared (roots no longer works, sadface).

Soloed as tank spec on my 85 druid. Used natures grasp/aquatic form to get away for a heal, and frenzied regeneration at the end which kept me above 50% health. Mostly 318/333 gear. All was well until I pulled aggro from the named captain in one of the down ships and had to wait till Tank was dead to finish him.

Soloed as an elemental shaman, Dont go toe to toe with him, good god you last about three seconds.

I popped water walking and fire elemental as soon as I saw him coming. Hexed as soon as in range , ran to max range FSed him, popped a few LBs off, then FS and run. Just keep doing this. Make sure to bring him into FE's range though it helps it go faster.

Easily soloable by Warlocks by using Demon Soul - Voidwalker. Just pop that, and start unloading on Tank. All threat is transferred to the blueberry for 15 seconds - this means you can go NUTS on Tank and you will not get aggro, resulting in Tank dying long before your Voidwalker does, assuming you have a decent grasp of how to do PVE damage.

Solable as Prot Paladin, just using Seal of Insight, you can even use your Word of Glory for safety, but not really needed. Pop up your defensive cd's just to make it faster

Eaaaasely soloable by a 85 BM hunter with 85 Turtle pet.

Had to freeze a pirate but never was in any danger.

I don't find all these "soloed" comments very helpful. I'd expect many/most specs will get ripped up by Tank if they try to solo him typical sub 359 iLvl gear.

- He does about 6000 damage per second on cloth, so probably about 3000-4000 dps on plate. Hence a clothie with 100k hp has about 15 seconds of being beaten on without heals/shields to kill him & a plate wearer with 150k hp has about 40-50 seconds without heals/shields.

- As a frost mage I couldn't root him with frost nova, shattered barrier or imp. cone of cold. I could get a slow on him, but you need to stay in the water & he swims so fast naturally that slow effects probably won't give you more than a couple of extra seconds.

- EDIT: Sounds like they buffed him at some point so he's no longer root-able by anyone (i.e. the druids talking about nature's grasp above), nor is he fear/horror-able, and probably not stunable either. Maybe the hex trick still works for shaman, but I wouldn't bet on it. Looks like tank really is a tank'n'spank fight now.

Therefore, most likely:
Can Solo: Any semi-geared tank, pet-tank capable classes/specs
Probably need to be doing about 8-10k DPS to kill: Other melee DPSers
Probably need to be doing 20k+ DPS to kill: Clothie(s) who just try to burst him down
Can probably heal+dot/melee him into the ground: A healer with 7-8k+ sustained HPS

Soloable as any mage spec. Very simple, just pop mirror images and go to town while he chomps on those.

Can easily be soloed by a shadow priest too. I don't think you can kill the normal way, but here is how I did it:

Use aswell Levitate as Inner Fire. Stand where you can barely reach him with your spells. DoT him up with Vampiric Touch, and immediately use Shadow Word: Pain and Devouring Plague. Then use Inner Will and run, run, run in circles. Keep up Levitate and your DoTs, and he's gone.
It will take a bit, but you will run at the same speed as he swims. Just remember to refresh your DoTs, especially Devouring Plague, in case gets the brilliant idea to evade back to his starting point.

This daily quest has better rewards than the other Tol Barad Peninsula dailies.

It awards 2 Tol Barad Commendations and 350 reputation, whereas all the other daily quests in the area only reward 1 Commendation and 250 reputation.

Solo'ed as iLvl347 fury warrior. Just pop death wish, recklessness and enraged regeneration if necessary. It finished pretty fast and I still had 113K(of 121K) hp when it was over.

It is kinda difficult to do it as unholy DK :/ despite my effort it still killed me even i had glyph of dark succor, so i suggest to DKs around 330-345 ilvl get offspec blood and kill him with it. I forgot to mention, my DK is ilvl 334 and 105k hp in Unholy presence and 109k in blood presence (both at same unholy spec)

Characters can share completion of the kill even if not in a group, so if low geared or squishy you can simply wait for someone else to engage and assist.

This Quest is NOT shareable. you can get credit for the quest while not in a group but you can NOT share it with others in the quest log!

355 Shadow Priest (and I say that loosely, since my offspec is just for soloing and I was wearing my Disc healing set) solo's him pretty easily, but not with the kiting method described above.

Broadly speaking, Tank is sort of the opposite of his name...he can dish out a beating, but he can't take one.

Use the ages-old technique of sending Shadowfiend in first to do some dirty work; DoT up the Shark. You'll pull aggro pretty easily, just Fade it off and spend the next several seconds walking the fine line between max damage and too much threat.

Tank will nom your Shadowfiend pretty handily but it should survive the full duration. Try to time your Weakened Soul so that you can get Shield back up quickly on yourself when your pet is gone and Tank starts chewing on you. Consider a quick drop out of Shadowform to Renew and ProM yourself before your pet expires, too. Good timing is the key to making it easy.

When your pet is gone, nuke him. Trinkets, racial abilities (gogo Berserking), the kitchen sink, anything you've got.
Don't bother with Scream (he's Fear-immune), just pretend he's a targeting dummy that hits back. You'll take a beating but you'll survive. Make sure all your DoTs are on him before he enrages at low health; When he does, use Dispersion and watch the shark go belly-up.

Just wanted to let you guys know that if u get there and a player of the opposing faction is killing it you can still get the quest done just by tapping him. I came there as a horde and an alliance druid had him at 20% and i just shot 2 frostbolts and got a complete when he got killed. I didn't even get the killing blow.

Easily soloed Tank today with my MM hunter and his crocolisk pet. I kept a steady stream of Mend Pet up on my croc, and took Tank down with aimed, steady, serpent, and chimera shots.

This quest is possibly reffered to the NHL team San Jose Sharks and their home stadium HP Pavilion wich in San Jose is reffered to as the "Shark Tank"

Soloed him as an assassination rogue. Cooldowns are all used up, with 50% HP to spare.

All the "I soloed this as a ___________" are the most self-absorbed, unhelpful comments on wowhead. I was more so curious if anyone was doing TB dailies over and over and not getting shark tank. Yes, you can solo it, I can solo it, we all can solo it. As soon as a new patch drops, all the "I soloed it" comments become pointless and outdated. Please provide something else besides your ego.

Just received this quest at 8,800/21,000 revered, so I didn't have to be exalted to receive the quest. I did, however, just receive the achievement for completing 100 dailies in Tol Barad, but I'm not sure if that has anything to do with receiving this daily quest or not. This is the first time this daily has popped up for me on this character.
