The easiest way to complete this quest is to look for somebody who owns Direbrew's Remote and move straight out of The Grim Guzzler back through The Manufactory directly into The West Garrison.

(be aware of level 54 elite trashgroups)

Pretty easy to solo at level 50 if you don't mind repair costs.

Stealth all the way, vanish when you need to, and make sure you're not in the fiery mobs' line of sight.

To get to the grain sacks go into the instance past the friendly guys, then when you get into the large room go for the first passageway on the left.
There's a friendly guy guarding a small door on the right, which is unlocked. Go in and you'll see sacks of grain lying about the place. Find ones that aren't close to the dark iron dwarves and poison them.

When you die now it's only a one second corpse run, unlike before patch 4.0.3a when it used to take ages. Thanks Blizzard.

Seriously easy to solo (53). Walk into the instance, turn left and go through the door, wait for the fire elemental to pass (stealth makes this easier but isnt needed) and open the second door, go to third door (with the npc named Prospector Seymour) open the door, turn right and use the Fast-Acting Poison on the Grain Ration, turn around and walk along the wall untill you see the second Grain Ration which is to the right by the cannon balls(watch out for the Fireguard patrol) Poison the second Grain Ration, run out, reset, rinse and repeat.

Doable in a single run. You just have to pick the right grain reserves, sap the nearest mob and have Vanish ready to go.

Easy as a lvl 51 sub, stealth to west garrison mark fire guard to keep watch on him and when its clear go right and poison that sack, 2nd sack is near a crystal on left side of door way no real aggro issues. The third i had preparation and vanih on the ready, go farthest away from the mobs yet still in range and loot, you will most likely aggro so be quick. Then leave, reset and repeat.

Did this solo @ level 53. I did not even reset the instance for the dungeon. I followed the guide 'By Thundastruck (1) on 11/30/2010 (Patch 4.0.3)' and was great! I just noticed a few more Grain Rations I could get myself. The extra ones are in that same room he talks about, go up the ramp and as u are walking up u are going to see another one, once u got that one finish going up the ramp and go left (not the stairs up or down in front of you) there is going to be a hallway and you are going to see another Grain Ration by itself. Also at level 53 what I did was, in the room once u go in on the left there are going to be 2 dwarfs right next to another ration. I used Sap on one, walked to the door and pulled one, killed it, regrouped and killed the other one. And in that same room right in front of that group you killed there is going to be some more grain by itself but close to some NPCs but I was able to get to it with no problem!

There's an easier/faster way to do this than the guides above.
1. Enter Blackrock Depths.
2. Walk through the gate on the left.
3. Immediately turn right, avoid the fire elemental.
4. Immediately go left, through the door (there's an NPC in front of it).
5. Poison the sack on the left. If you're low level you will aggro, vanish in combat. Avoid the fire elemental patrol.
6. Poison the sack on the right. Again avoid the fire elemental patrol.
7. Go up the ramp completely, poison the sack left from the end of the ramp, avoiding the fire elemental patrol.
8. Poison remaining sacks lying around guarded by 2 dwarfs. For that Sap one, Blind the other, poison the sack, Vanish. Wait for your Blind and Vanish CD to come back, repeat.

This mission almost seems to be designed to be solo'd, given a rogues capabilities. And it suits them too. A secret mission behind enemy lines to poison their foodsupplies.

I wish there were more of these missions.

How do you get to Shadowforge City? The only instance I can find in Blackrock Mountain is Blackrock Spire?

Post-Cata class quest that rewards the T1 helm lookalike.

A list of all classes are as follows:

Deathknight : No T1, no dice.

Druid: Breath of Cenarius - Rewards with blue quality lookalike of Cenarion Helm. Both the alliance and the horde gets the quest from the same NPC.

Hunter: The Golem Lord's Creations(A)/The Golem Lord's Creations(H) - Rewards with blue quality lookalike of Giantstalker's Helmet.

Mage: The Pyromancer's Grimoire(A)/The Pyromancer's Grimoire(H) - Rewards with blue quality lookalike of Arcanist's Crown.

Paladin: Weapons of Darkness(A)/Weapons of Darkness(H)/Weapons of Darkness(Blood Elf) - Rewards with blue quality lookalike of Lawbringer's Helm, also rewards Blood Elf paladins with the Blood Knight Tabard.

Priest: Twilight Scheming(A)/Twilight Scheming(Blood Elf)/Twilight Scheming(Goblin)/Twilight Scheming(Tauren)/Twilight Scheming(Troll)/Twilight Scheming(Undead) - Rewards with blue quality lookalike of Circlet of Prophecy.

These rewards are also quite good at their level if you don't have a heirloom helmet for your alt(s). I also have no idea why the horde priests get race specific quests.

Very easy at level 50. Just be aware of your surroundings and be wary of fire elementals as they will see through stealth.

Killed The Behemonth on the way in and the way out for a pair of Vilerend Slicers. Whether they will be useful, that is another story.

Unfortunately I also got killed on the way in and the way out by enemy players (PvP Server).

Eskapade above has a good guide, so no use duplicating.

[Things are getting interesting in Blackrock Mountain, <name>. Our sources report that the Dark Iron dwarves have formed closer ties with Twilight's Hammer and both are preparing for a major offensive.

I've made the contents of the report known to key leaders in Stormwind and I want you to help deal with this emerging Dark Iron threat.

The rations for most of the Dark Iron army are kept in the East and West Garrison of Blackrock Depths. Take this poison and apply it to their grain reserves.]
