These chickens can be hard to spot. However, the spiders in the area seem to chase them, trying to kill them. If you see a spider moving in a faster pace than usual, it will mean they are chasing a chicken. Kill the spider, save the chicken, then loot it.

I wandered around, confused for a while during this. They're pretty hard to see, but once I realized what to do, "/target ash chicken" was very helpful.

Okay, I HATE, HATE, HATE quests that don't have enough of the drop/mob/etc. to complete without waiting for respawns. That is a pointless waste of time and makes no sense to me. What if multiple people were doing this quest at the same time? There's not even enough for 1 person to finish, let alone 2, 3, 4, etc. at once. Needs more chickens.

They have made the chickens much larger so that they are easier to spot. You can acquire the chickens while mounted-you get the little gear thingy and click. I did not have to wait for respawns. Maybe the person who did got there right after someone else did the quest.

You can get multiple chickens from one ash chicken if you click fast enough.

How come no one has commented on the fact that these chickens are ridiculous and hilarious looking? Also, you're saving chickens from dangerous spiders in order to eat them. I freaking love this quest.

Waiting patiently for the day they make the Ash Chicken a vanity pet! Maybe an achievement reward for reaching exalted... These things are awesome

Easy to target with a small addon, QTarget. Easy to follow and click them automatically with the Blizzard's keybind to interact with target.

[The gorge is an unforgiving place. We don't get a whole lot of fuzzy wildlife wandering around here.

We tried bringing in some wild game, but they haven't fared well at all. There's just no food for them to eat. Now the nearby spiders - which were already dangerous - are getting big and fat on chicken meat.

We'll never get rid of all the spiders, but we can salvage what few chickens remain. Not only will you be feeding the Brotherhood, you'll be saving them a painful death by spider bite.]
