This may be a bit more obscure a tribute to a classic game which seemed obvious to me the first time i completed this quest.

Legend of Zelda on NES

In the graveyard area you touch graves to waken ghosts which are colored blue and white. You can kill these angered spirits by killing the Ghost who was already present upon entering the frame. Even the shape of the gravestones match those in the game.

(This area allowed you to grind rupies, which was LoZ currency. You would touch as many graves as you could and then kill the original. The original's death killed all ghosts on the screen , resulting in many rupies/hearts. There were 6 screens worth of graveyard)

This daily is bugged and is not counting towards the achievement Just another Day in Tol Barad upon completion.

Posting this here as well:
It seems that Shamans casting Greater Healing Wave immediately after the completion of the gravestone timer will cause the hostile spirit to not spawn. I've tested this myself on four different days of doing the daily and haven't had a spawn anytime I've used GHW - any other spell, however, results in a spawn from my observances.

If you have a "join BG window" up, "release" a spirit and then join the BG before the angry spirit spawns, it will follow you into the BG.
