I'm not sure if this quest is currently working. I rubbed the Fish Paste on myself, went in the deepest part of the water and the shark never appeared.

I had to swim around for ages, but it worked eventually.

Interesting note, this quest is now the only way to get darkmoon special reserve. Must be a very special drink indeed!

You need to put the paste on before entering Tidefury Cove, or the shark will not trigger properly.

If you put the paste on in the Cove, swim back to Nat's Landing and then back into the Cove. This should trigger the shark.

Had to reapply the paste twice but the shark finally showed at 56,63.

Tried this quest several times. Applied outside Tidefury Cove, swam all over the cove. It doesn't work. Tried it 6 times, followed everyone's notes, abandoned and reacquired, etc. It doesn't work.

I swam to Tidefury Cove and smeared paste on me. I then dove to the deeper area where i was attacked by some of the mobs around me (Im lvl 36, mobs were lvl 36 also). No shark showed up. I then skimmed the bottom of the Cove and swam around killing stuff, then, as I approached the northern part of the Cove, while skimming the bottom, a shark appeared. I killed him. Got credit for the quest and was able to hand it in.

I just got this quest right now and I'm chickening out so badly. xD
What lvl is the shark/monster thingy?
I'm only lvl 34 right now so i don't want it to be some lvl 4O elite *!@#.

Quest is up and running just use the bait and swin for some meters.... shark will spawn easily

After rubbing the bait on yourself, swim into the cove BEHIND Nat. BEHIND HIM!

I just did this quest just moment ago, I swam to the deepest part of the water in Cove, smeared myself in that stuff... waited... and waited.. for 30 minutes... so I came on here and looked what I need to do exactly.

I'm going to say that you gonna smear yourself BEFORE you leaving Nat's Landing, swim behind Nat , do not go forward from him; just head to where shark should be at. I did this and he swam right at me, so you gonna put it on before you go in water, and it'll work rather than sitting around wait for it to come to you.

The Shark is only level 37 non-elite, it's easy to solo and all.

If done correctly the shark will sit at the bottom of the sea at 56, 63.5.

Just remember to have the paste buff on you before swimming into the Tidefury Cove so that you trigger the shark to spawn.

But you want to know about Tethyr. I said I'd make you a deal, so here's what I want you to do. I'm working on a new line of baits, but I haven't tested this one yet.

Just take this paste -- yeah, it smells a little foul -- smear it on yourself, and swim into the deep part of Tidefury Cove to the southwest. Let me know how it works!]
