This is the updated quest for cataclysm. Instead of stitches attacking the town head on and allowing anyone to kill him, and without risk of him killing npc's, (s)he now simply spawns outside a phased version of the town hall in with the nightwatch attacking him. It is important to note that there is NO rush in fighting him, he will neither take damage or deal damage from and to the nightwatch npcs. This also means that he can't be "taken care of" by the npc's either :)

Abercrombie is also sitting on his shoulder in his full necromantic attire!

Blizzard makes good use of phasing on this one. In addition to Stitches you'll find the town on fire. It was quite the scene.

Stitches is a 23 elite and basically impossible to solo at the level range the quest is offered.

The guards can tank but do it poorly.

In order to kill it, one has to either kite Stitches around with the help of the guards daze, or very carefully manage their aggro so that the abomination won't kill them.

I don't know if it's a bug or "working as intended" but, as a hunter, my pet would not attack Stitches. Be warned hunters, if you do this quest you'll be doing it alone since the guards don't actually damage him.

If you are having difficulty with this quest, as I was with my mage, you can abandon the quest if Stitches makes it up to you and then re-acquire it at the quest giver. Stitches will reset aggro but will stay at his last position and have the same health he had when it was abandoned. It's a cheap way to finish it, but it works to kill him.

Solo'd Stitch tonight on my 19 twink rogue. He had 2k HP but he hits slow. Just pot, evasion and recuperate so you won't panic.

FYI, I tried to group with an 85 for this but he phased out as well since he doesn't have the quest.

And this proves us that were you to give players a load of experience and gold plus some epics as reward, and all you ask them to do is start the Apocalypse, they would quite certainly do it.

I'm reading comments not that much helpful so, to the ones who are planning to do this quest, better to clear some points.

The s won't tank but only take him 'busy'. There is no aggro table, just touch the abomination with a finger and he start hitting you. This also mean that if you die fighting with the s don't let him evade neither reset his health.
In few words: you don't need any sort of twink gear and don't have to waste pots in this fight.
Only hit him as hard as you can and if you die, just die, corpse res and fight again, will be there in the same point and with the same health he have when you died.
