If you die, you should be able to run back before the fight is over. They were still fighting when I arrived, I rezzed just as he died and got credit for the quest.

I didn't find it so easy on my 30 Disc Priest. I died twice and it still failed even though I got back prior to the fight ending. In order to complete it, I had to drink a swiftness potion and run around the camp to until i got enough mana back to shoot off a few more spells. It completed when Brebo was finally killed by the Cliffwalkers.

I died first try as a lvl 34 DemoLock. Second try I attacked the two enforcers, and THEN I turned my attention to Gen. Creapo, I mean Grebo. Hope this helps. Good luck =)

Do not fly. Stand on the ground. The quest fails when you are hovering above the ground, and the mobs will despawn after Grebo's last words, "The punishment for you all is DEATH!"

Grebo will be looking for you and needs to physically reach you. A hint from, "And as for you,<name>, disappointing. You are a disgrace to the Horde!"

On a PVE server, your PVP flag turns on unexpectedly when combat starts.

If you do not want Grebo and his goons to be looking for you when combat starts, then stand about 30 or more yards away by the time the dialogue finishes. Your friendly npcs will have a better chance to get aggro first, and you can pick off the mobs one by one much more easily.

If you do not see the dialogue, you can wait for the npc to yell and the fight will start soon.
