Awesome quest which actually puts you inside the wolf the fable is about.
*Spoiler alert, don't read on if you don't want to be spoilered*
You are transformed into The Wolf, which is hungry and seeks prey to the east (rather far, bit more than halfway to the shore, though The Wolf is fast) and finally eyes two battling Kodos. He decides to wait until one defeats the other, to then feast on the loser. When that happens, The Wolf approaches the fallen Kodo, but before he can take a bite, he is slain by the other Kodo.

Completion text:

The moral of the story: hasty, lazy actions have ruinous results. We mustn't take shortcuts... we must work for our rewards.
I've been trying to tell this story to the "Enforcer", but I fear his Hellscream-worshipping skull is a little bit too thick.

Gor of course doesn't like this "Thrall-loving farseer" either.

Do NOT make the same mistake I did. I looked on my map and went to the spot it shows on the map thinking that is where the quest starts but it is NOT. The Orc next to the one that gives you the quest is who you talk to to then, run to the spot on your map.

One of the many quests that indirectly talks about the struggle between the old Thrall Horde and new Garrosh Horde. These tensions are more explained in the novel The Shattering, and are trickling into the player storyline as well.

If you're new to wow and interested in lore and story, pay attention to these little bits! It's all based on a large theme that will expand from now until a few content patches ahead!

Here is the story of The Wolf and the Kodo, which is told, uh, interactively.
It starts with a standard dialog box of

Can you tell me your fable, Shin?

but continues on in raid-warning style alerts as you journey eastward as The Wolf:

One day, The Wolf was very hungry, so he ran east to look for some food.
The Wolf found scorpid meat to be too bitter.
He scoured the sands of Durotar, hunting for his prey.
The Wolf ran and ran, looking for an easy meal.
The Wolf did not care for raptor meat.
The Wolf was lazy, and didn't want to work for his meal.
The Wolf had grown tired of eating boar meat.
The more he ran, the more his stomach growled.
He happened upon a pair of battling kodos.
Clever as he was, The Wolf decided to wait for one to defeat the other.
When the weaker Kodo died, The Wolf approached and tried to eat it.
The remaining Kodo, angry at The Wolf's impetuousness, swiftly killed The Wolf before he had a chance to eat.

You are then returned to Shin.

This quest seems to be bugged at the end, as it causes your action bars to disappear after the quest is over. Ran to Org and logged out, then relogged to fix.

If you still have the action bar from the wolf after the quest finishes, then a simple "/reload ui" should fix it and bring back your own action bar.

this quest seemed bugged to me .. shin just kept repeating himself same lines over and over and would never complete...i abandoned and retried but same thing. Thoughts?

Just spoke with a GM about the issue of not stumbling upon the two battling kodos. He said I would have to delete my Cashe, WTF and Interface folders and it should work normally.

Same here. That seems to be their answer to everything now. "Delete your Cashe, WTF and Interface folder" is GM-speak for "F-you, it's not worth our time to fix." It didn't work though and I am still unable to finish my quest

Thank you for contacting the Game Master Department. Regrettably I was unable to speak with you about this online.

I appreciate you letting me know about this. The issue you are experiencing is actually a bug that is affecting all vehicles at the moment. Fortunatly our Dev team is already investigating the cause so that it can be fixed as quickly as possible. In the meantime I recommend abandoning the quest or holding on to it until the bug is fixed. I sincerely apologize for any confusion ot inconvenience this has been causing.

Also, please check our community site at http://us.battle.net/wow/en where you can see a list of known issues as well as any fix updates or possible work-arounds.

I cannot find anny of the kodo's so i try to leave the wolf form by clicking leave ....
But then i just bug .

I've had that problem too. I eventually had to log out and log back in. Reloading the ui did nothing.

I just did this quest (an hour ago), and it worked perfectly for me, no bugs or anything.

One would assume it's a RNG bug that might not happen every time, if it happens to you abandon and retake the quest and see if that fixes it.

Regarding the 4.1 bug, I noticed it happened right when I was about to 'discover' Skull Rock. I got no experience or notification that I discovered this area. No NPCs at all showed (there were a few by the catapults behind me but when I went to the dueling area there were no players, etc.)

I thought it was lag, but it wasn't. Relogging didn't fix it. Also could not exit vehicle.

I abandoned the quest and tried again; it worked that time. That's what I suggest.

A cool story and lesson for your character if you're a "Lore-$%^&*" like I am. So, be sure to read everything as you finish this quest!

The way I took this fable was... I didn't read the quest text before I set out, looking for some dumb shaman to hear his tale, not realizing it was the quest giver. A little slap in the face by Blizzard to questers who just see objectives, go to the place on the map, and do stuffs.

I tryied to do this quest tonight oh and guess what Kodo's poof are not there DX

I have spent about an hour running around the area trying to find them

hopefully after the maintenance they will be there otherwise i can not finish the quest DX
