Simply throw the bait at the closest Young Diemetradons and run down into the trap.

I found this quest surprisingly difficult, when I seen the word dinosaur in the quest I thought of the purple Ravasaur's but thats now what the quest meant it means the Diemetradon's. When I did it I pulled more then one on me because I thought I could do it quicker, it doesn't work like that. You need to do it one by one, making it take a few minutes longer then you hoped it too.

If you struggle with them disengaging combat, try and hit them a few times. If you're high level, unequip your weapon and hit them with your fists to avoid accidental kills.

There's also a right and left pit. For me, if I took a dinosaur from the left side to the right pit, he'd run away as soon as he got on the ramp. Taking him into the left pit worked fine.

My first casual thought was that the real Dimetrodon is a pelycosaur, and the quest asked for me to lure a dinosaur, so I passed over them without even thinking about it and tried to lure some raptors.

Then I remembered that this is just a game, and isn't meant to be scientifically accurate.

You can also bait and trap Devilsaurs.

Run West of the camp and you will see a small pit full of spikes.

Run a bit further west and you will find young diemetradons, use the meat on one and lure it into the pit of spikes.

[I don't believe we've met... I'm Nolen Tacker, Marshal Expeditions' new chief of the guards. I'm also their chef. There's actually more overlap than you'd think.

I've got a fun little task for you. Have you seen the spike pits around the perimeter of the camp? See if you can convince some of the nearby dinosaurs to walk into them. If you throw this rotten meat at them when they're not looking, it'll either make them hungry or angry. Either way is fine, as long as they follow you into the pit!]
