I think you're all concentrating on the wrong part of the quest here... Garrosh had a BOUNTY ON YOUR HEAD.

Now, I know what you're thinking: "holy crap, he was going to have me killed!" That is true, but the important part is this... what was the quest reward? Was it a blue or a crappy green? Was it a group quest? Tell me Garrosh, how many people did you have to contract?

I dislike this quest. Garrosh is a brutish thug with all the subtlety of a berzerk rhinoceros and racist ego of a whole Klan meeting. He shouldn't be right about anything.

When you confront Durak, the dialogue you have is "This is terrible, Durak! Hellscream is conviced there's a demon behind our work here. What can we do?"

Just sayin', really awkward doing this quest chain as a Warlock.

"The demons want nothing more than for us to become reliant on their foul magics." -- Well, crap.

"And I smell its taint on you as well, <class>...." -- Well, there's one right next to me.

"Listen... Before you say anything, I KNOW we're not to meddle with demonic energies...." -- Oops.

"There is strong prejudice against the use of demonic magics. Unjustified, but real nonetheless. For this reason, I will transform you into an imp for the duration of the mission to prevent you from being identified." -- Hey! I can be the same as my pet now!

"Did you feel it, <name>!

The raw fel power seething through your being?" -- Well, I figure, since I cast that kind of thing all the time...

Just try not to chuckle when you're doing this chain on a lock.

Did this quest today on my 85 Mage, and i don't think you can complete it after you've "fought" him. I killed him easy, i'm not sure if there is some sort of event that I missed or what, but I can't turn in the quest to him now.

Edited to add: Dropping the quest, did not permit me to reaquire it either. :(

I used to hate Garrosh, but sending me to pwn a lock is pretty sweet. Ah, the days when I ran a guild that refused locks entry. Bwahaha!

On topic, I replaced my level 19 heirloom gun with the following outcome:

+1 Agi
+3 Stm
-0.2 dps (ahhhhhh)
-1 crit
-1 resil

I'm fine with that.

*If you're doing this chain for twink gear, then make sure to pick up Diabolical Plans, which drops from the mobs in the same area as the felfire. The next quest in that chain, Never Again!, rewards BiS rings for most classes @19/20. The best time to do that quest is just after you've picked up All Apologies (so you can hearthstone to Orgrimmar once you've got the 2 weapons, talk to Hellscream, then fly back to get Durak's head).

Also, you may as well pick up Destroy the Legion from Valusha at the same time as Playing With Felfire, for a bit more gold, as you'll be killing the demons anyway.

So was Durak an Orc channeling demonic powers (Like a Warlock) as he did with you? Or was he a demon taking the guise of a Orc Warlock?

atm...4.3 the bow you get from this quest - is best in slot for lvl19 hunter twinks...
The major gain is in the 3stam and 1point increase in max damage, with twink gear hits will be large enough to ignore the 1point min. damage and the 0.2dps loss is made up for by the +1 max damage too.
