If you have already completed the Artisan quest, go back to Nat to take this quest and gain the pole (screenshot).

Whats the point though with the new patch I was fishing with 157 skill not getting any get aways in the Dalaran fountain, mostly junk 1 coin 1 gold fish but still...

When i completed this quest it counted for 7 quests towards the "complete 2000 quests" achievement.

Doesn't count for Kalimdor or EK Loremaster achievement (Horde).

I have noticed that when you are trying to level fishing, if you are under 350 and fishing Northrend, you get leveled about 1 in 8 cast. However, when I was doing Nat Pagle's quest, I was leveling in 1 in 4 casts.

Players who had already completed the quest of the same name (to become Artisan Fishermen in the past) can get this new fishing-rod-reward by visiting Nat Pagle and doing this version of the quest, so they are not asked to fish the four fish a second time. This is the intent of this quest in contrast to the other.

Exactly, you can't get *this* quest on this page - the one without level requirement - as a first, as the requirement is that you did the old original version of it before (it was then a required quest for getting Artisan rank), and the "quest" here is simply that he gives you the pole.

Here's the "other", the now original Nat Pagle, Angler Extreme - required level: 34.

You MUST be at least level 35, and also need a fishing skill of 225. Having the fishing skill alone isn't enough unfortunately.
