the stone is near to the ghost, around 48, 72. when u use it u became Arthas, and Ilidan appears.

You must defeat Ilidan to complete the quest, time your parries to gain mana, kick him back, and use the 4th skill (cant remember the name) to get to him and stun him. As soon as he stunned, spam the 2nd skill to dmg him.

Very cool questchain.

This is a playable recreation of A Long Time Coming, the finale of the Scourge Campaign in Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne, which plays after completing the mission A Symphony of Frost and Flame. Shortly after the battle, Arthas entered Icecrown Citadel and merged with the spirit of Ner'zhul, becoming the new Lich King.

This quest is slightly inaccurate, as the battle actually took place when Icecrown Citadel was little more than a tower of ice, long before it was rebuilt into the massive Saronite fortress currently in-game.

If Illidan's low on health, be a bit cautious about using the kick/jump combo..

I just fell through the ground & plummeted to my (eventual) death. Quest completed fine though.

The quest bugged out on me but at least I completed it. Illidan killed me as Arthas but left me in combat. I found another stone, transformed back into Arthas while still in combat, and the quest immediately said 'complete'. *shrug*

I was really confused but then i saw a little stone on the ground, i tryed to click it and... There we go! killed Illdan.. was kinda easy just keep, Parry, get mana, kick him away, and then use the "4" button. :) hope it helps people.

The quest bugged for me too, I entered in combat with illidan, and a did "Parry" (1) three time and the quest was complete, nice bug :)

This event is repeatable after it is completed just activate another blood stained rock.

EDIT: This quest is not repeatable when the kid isnt there.

I had a TON of problems with this. I had to redo it many many times because Illidan just would not get launched back far enough to do the special attack, or he would come back in range almost immediately. In the end the only reason I was able to complete it was because of the bug.

Easy way to beat this fight:

Parry (1) until your mana is about 75%+ full. Then Stomp (3) and Annihilate (4), and spam Deathstrike (2) until he's back up.

Repeat until dead.

Enjoy the epic questline. =]

Also, as others said, if you failed once, you can just 'use' the rock again. It doesn't always spawn in the same place.

Spam "1" til you get full mana. (This is your Parry spell, which grants 25% mana on a successful dodge.)
Hit "3" then immediately follow by "4" (This is your "kick" spell which knocks Illidan back a bit, followed by an Annihilation spell which clobbers Illidan for a lot of damage) Using Annihilation requires 10K mana, so just remember to spam Parry! :)

If you die while doing this quest, the Bloodstained Stone will reappear after a few seconds.

Ok guys heres the BEST ROTATION for this quest, just simply parry untill u have more than 75% mana at least kick him and press 4 cuz that skill takes 33% of his life but u need range to cast it, its as simple as that, avoiding wasting mana, kick costs mana too. GL HF. StealthTriad happy ganking :)

I failed the first time. Arthas fell, and I felt VERY stupid for dying like that.

Right-clicked the stone again, and yes it instantly said I had completed the quest. I used "Leave Vehicle" to jump out of Arthas's body, and then.... I abandoned the completed quest and re-took it so I could actually win the fight properly. I couldn't let myself take the easy way out in such a lore-bound quest.

Very easy fight. Just keep spamming the parry (first) skill, use the knockback (third) skill once you have full or close to full mana, and immediately hit the lunge (fourth) skill to take off a huge chunk of his hp. Then, he'll be stunned. If you have enough mana, use the strike (second) skill and repeat.

Congratulations, you just solo'd Illidan!

There is a stone left at the quest giver.
Then right click on it, and you going to be a man you need to control.

You can use 4 spells

1: You getting mana
2: You hit him, but it cost mana
3: You kick him away
4: When he is away from you, you make much damage on him and stuns for 6 sec.

DONT use spell 2, course it cost mana and it dosent hit so much DMG. just use 1 all time, into you got full mana, then use 3 and fast 4 after. and keep doing that

I have done this quest 8 times and it will not complete. I kill illidan and change back to my character and i can't turn in the quest. Any suggestions. Have also tried dropping and re-picking up quest and nothing.

I must say..
Well, im a total warcraft 3 player, i've played both reign of chaos and the frozen throne..
The ending campaign in w3:TFT shows first, arthas (as undead) and Illidan(not really big unlike the screenshots) fought together at the gates of the frozen throne, arthas won.. why?
stupidly, while illidan is on flight, when he can still control himself, arthas sliced Illidans chest off and achieved victory.. I still like Illidan though. Then arthas went up the long way to the throne then destroyed the ice on the throne where the lich king is then merged with him.

TO UNDERSTAND PROPERLY, PLEASE PLAY W3 TFT OR READ BOOKS ABOUT IT..

Anyone else able to do this quest since the latest patch? I can't find the stone anywhere - none of the stones in the area are usable. I've tried dropping the quest and re-taking it, leaving the area and coming back, and nothing.

I absolutely cannot find the bloodstained rock to kick off the active part of this quest. The ghost boy is there, but the rock is not in either location.

Has the rock moved, or is there something else at fault, here? One thing I have noticed is that the Argent Tournament "camp" is now gone, and all the mobs you normally try to kill are replaced with regular Level 80 mobs.

For the record, I've tried logging out/logging back in, abandoning the quest and retaking it, etc. Nothing seems to get the rock to appear at all.

Please tell me I'm not alone in this issue...

This quest seems to either bugged by the phasing or something else. The Bloodstained stone is not present on any of the phases, hence a total stop of progressing through the quest line and to get the achievement (Icecrown 140 quest achievement). I've noticed this problem since patch 4.0.1 on Live.

It is bugged, talked with a GM (missing 15 quests in icecrown to get loremaster) and he told me that i should do quests elsewhere as they r having issues with it atm.....

You actually don't need this quest to complete Icecrown: The Final Goal. I completed all 140 quests in Icecrown, plus had a few extra, and still doing some. I have gone back to this one as the stone is there now after I opened up my daily for At the Enemy's Gates (horde version). Just going to have to find better internet to do it like I do with major jousting events, cause let's face it, satellite internet sucks for anything that has to be timed even slightly.

1.Get your manna up by parrying.(No. 1 icon)
2. When manna is about 1/2 + stun him by kicking (No. 3 icon)
3. Hit him with the 4 spell. (No. 4 icon)
4. Rince and repeat a few more times.

The quest is bugged on WOTLK Classic for some people. The stone doesn't spawn probably because of the tournament phasing around the area.
