I hated this quest. I hated how I'm doing the exact thing Arthas did; only difference is that I did it on their request. I made it a point to kneel and say a prayer before I finish them off.

I found it interesting that the Horde version of this quest is "Avenge Me!"

Considering that the Horde are the ones responsible for this slaughter (they attacked the Alliance from behind while they were battling the Scourge), I thought it interesting that the dying Horde ask to be avenged, as if they have been the victim of some great injustice, whereas the dying Alliance ask to be put out of their misery because they can no longer stand the taunting of the dying Horde.

Just some interesting psychology to mull over.

Just a note: killing the Dying Berserkers for whatever reason (desire to exact burning revenge, etc, etc.) will flag you.

Lol stupid guys don't they know that even if they r killed they cn still be made into undead. lol u have 2 kill ur own men when they could make a vehicle quest 2 rescue them with a flying machine. Sad

Indeed this is the easiest quest in the game. It takes about 60 seconds, you can do it on your flying mount without dismounting and you'll never get attacked. Easy mode!

I had to speak to several "Dying Soldier"s before one would give me the quest. Until you speak to the soldier, the "!" does not show on the minimap (at least, it did not for me).

I just want to reiterate that this quest CAN be done while mounted. This helps because there are a lot of scorge around so instead of having to fight 4 of them for every 1 soldier you kill, you can just do it and fly away.

I have a Horde main, and most of my alts are Horde, so I've done the Horde equivalent of this quest, which is basically kill 5 Dying soldiers.

I started an Alliance toon so I could get Loremaster before Cataclysm came out and changed a lot of quests.

When I reached this quest, I assumed that I would be killing 5 Dying Berserkers. I was surprised to find out that I was to kill my comrades.

Best. Quest. Ever. Except that outhouse quest in Grizzly Hills. Horde don't get an equivalent to that.

Happened to get this quest -just- in time for the last couple lines of a song I had playing... Manly tears were shed. ;__;

This is a sad quest but I had some fun with it: I'm a L85 Human Paladin and at one point I "finished" a soldier and was attacked by several baddies. I killed them and more spawned immediately; I killed them and more spawned, etc., etc. I spent at least 10 minutes killing baddies at the same place with no more than a second with out at least one baddie attacking me. They couldn't hurt me - my health never went done lower than 157k- and I ended up with a pile of corpses up to my shoulders. I finally got tired and ran away until I could kill the last few who chased me and mount up to get out of there.
