This guy is a little tough, best "Ring of Blood" challenge yet. I tanked him as DK in semi-tank gear 22k hps and he crit me for 5500, has a 5k blast wave, and periodically raises himself into the air and tosses out AE fireballs at everyone that hits for around 750 but can hit u a random amount of times. Anti-Magic Shell/Zone is very useful here. Bring a healer for sure.

Just finished 2-manning this as a DK with a holy paladin. Really excellent series of fights; the best Ring of Blood style event to date. I was sitting around 20.9k HP, 17k armor, and embarrassingly low amounts of mitigation (4.7 dodge, 10.5 parry with HoW up) due to being in my DPS set.

As stated above, he does do AoE fireballs about once every 30 seconds (either Bone Shield or AMS was up for every single one of them) and does a 5k or so damage Blast Wave when he lands from it. Aside from that, he didn't seem to do a lot of damage.

Two manned as Protection Paladin and Enhancement Shaman in mostly Sunwell gear. As long as you run away when he flies up and does his AoE Fireballs, he won't be any trouble at all. Ironically, the one thing that would make him truly hard - his 5k Blast Wave - he did twice throughout the entire battle.

Tired to 2 man with a shadow priest & a resto druid, did not work. He hit to hard to keep up with healing unlike the other previous quests.

2 manned this with a resto shammy and me a pvp spec arms warrior in my full tanking gear. It took FOREVER, about 20 minutes to get this guy down. Got sketchy in a couple places, using bladestorm is bad because it seems I lose all mitigation when I do. Hella fun 2 manning all these 5 man quests.

Done this twice on my Unholy tank DK now (once to help a friend before I actually had the quest myself).

This guy is pretty dangerous if your group is slow to move out of the fireball attack. It's heralded by him casting Fire Shield, then he rises into the air (he's still targetable by ranged, but he takes half damage while the shield is active) and begins spewing fiery death.

The best way to deal with it is to have the tank tank him in the middle. When fire shield is cast, everyone runs to the edges of the arena. This should ensure that minimal damage is taken from it. Once he comes back down, let the tank drag him back to the middle, and continue.

If you're fortunate enough to have an actual tank for this it's rather easy besides his special attack. He hits rather quickly, and not terribly gently though, so a non-specced tank might be taking quite a beating.

3-manned this with an unholy DK, arms warrior, and some kind of rogue. This guy was the only real challenge in the chain. I tanked with death striking, and mostly kept myself alive. I died at the end because I'm terrible at timing Anti-magic shell.

As a prot paladin in T7 with a few pieces from Heroic Nax, tihs is soloable, but difficult. The entire arena event is actually, with some events harder than others.

Khit'rix the Dark Master was difficult do to the fears and constant mind flays and shadow dmg.

Sigrid Iceborn was somewhat challenging.

However, Prince Sandoval wasn't a push over. If you time it right, and run far enough away from fires, you can get in a holy light or a bandage. Just make sure LoH is off CD, that you are as buffed as you can possibly be w/o being in a group, and manage your mana/hp via seal/judge light/wisdom.

Unfortunately, the scriptps don't credit you for soloing it and constantly say "you and your companions..."

The entire chain was a joke imo. xD

Basically for Prince:
Keep diseases up at all times, spam DS/BS over and over, weave in Rune strike etc
Pop CDs in and out to keep yourself up, but its simple, just take his normal form, and run out when he casts fire shield.

Two manned this whole chain as a BM hunter with a pally (Unsure on spec). For the first couple bosses the pally tanked/healed herself while I DPS'd. Went slow but wasn't hard at all. For a couple bosses (Third and fourth I think) we used my pet to tank while the pally healed it and I DPS'd. Overall, there weren't too many complications aside from the one wipe on the third one. It's slow going, but easily doable with this setup.

Two manned the entire chain with a dk unholy tank (me, but i was dps specced but no problem in tanking them with some +def blue quest plate) and a resto druid. We both was in green / bluish quest gear, the hardest boss was Prince Sandoval but we downed him with very few problem.

Two-manned this chain as a 79 prot pally in blues, with a geared priest. To avoid this guy's firestorm, we just kept running to the outskirts. It helped that he was undead. Healer's mana held up except towards the end of one quest, when I had to heal myself briefly.

As a prot pally soloing this chain, I liked to hear from other prot pallies especially. So in case you're out there, I'll give advice.

This is the longest of the chain. 27.5k hp and def capped, pretty nice gear, to give you an idea. I had seal of wis up and judged light. Your biggest concerns should be to get away from the fireballs and especially dispel the fire debuff because it ticks for 3k and it'll probably kill you otherwise. His hits can be blocked, if you can take about 1500 .

Timing is more crucial here than the other fights. Sacred shield, if your mana can afford it, should be up. Keep bandages and perhaps a pot. Although I didn't, I'd recommend having lay on hands ready. Ideally sacred shield will proc from as you're running from him when he goes up to cast the fireball aoe, that way you can likely get a crit heal. Likewise, it's this period of running away that you should, if you aren't going to heal, cast divine plea, to minimize the damage of the heal debuff it provides.

Though a long fight, most of the time is spent with him in the air, and I would typically get him 5 to 10% down between this phase before he goes back up.

well this quest is very soloable in my opinion if you are set up right. i just did the whole thing with a dk dps and myself holy priest. it seemed quite easy for the 2 of us at lvl 80 neither got beneath 75% health

If you do attempt this with low numbers, make sure you don't run too far away during the fire orbs to the snow-covered edges of the arena. It will count as a "ring out" and you will need to start over.

Solo'd the entire chain as a holy pally, in my standard PvP gear (3 hateful, 2T7, deadly offpieces). The crit immunity was vital, and the dot reduction helped a lot on a couple of the fights. Used concentration aura the entire time, resistances would be nice but they're not reliable, and the pushback sucks on fights with adds.

The first was cake, just 6 non-elites with ~12k health each. Burnt them down one at a time, kept sacred shield up, and used Holy Wrath on cooldown for the stun. Kill the rogue first (he kicks), and it's easy.

Second was one of the hardest, mostly due to the fears. Vital to keep sacred shield up here, and I had to use most of my holy shocks to heal myself. Used trinket, bubble, and LoH on bad fears. Don't bother trying to cleanse the poison, just heal through it. Use DP on cooldown, but be ready to click it off if a fear gets you low. Focus on killing the priest first, then once he's dead you can consecrate down the adds easily enough. He hit me for around ~1.5k.

The third was easy. Just go at her all out, and use IoL procs to heal yourself. The stun hits for ~6k but otherwise she's weak.

Carnage was sort of tricky, but ultimately very doable. Just make sure you keep yourself topped off with FoL for the stun, and he won't be able to kill you. Work him down with judgement, holy shock, and shield of righteousness. He hits hard, but with ~3k FoL non-crits I could keep up with his damage easily, while still damaging him.

Deathblow is HARD. Almost as hard as Khit'rix. He does a bucketload of damage, enough that I had to spend most of my time healing. This meant that I couldn't get much mana back from SoW, and had to use divine plea a lot. When DP lined up with his mortal strike, 75% healing reduction was painful. Fortunately his attacks are all physical, so you can BoP as well as bubble. Try to time DP with your bubble though, cause you won't need to do any healing while immune. He stays stationary during his whirlwind, which is a good time to get some distance, and gives you a GCD or two to use on damage before he gets close again. It's critical to keep yourself topped off here, cause if he punts you in the middle of a heal, then hits you with MS, you'll be in really bad shape. This was a very close fight for me, and I actually won it by kiting him at the end (like most mobs, his movement speed slows down severly sub-10%, so you can actually kite him around without him hitting you easily).

The final boss, Prince Sandoval, is a joke. He's dangerous for one reason, his burst damage. His blast wave hits for ~5k, and he has another ability which also hits for 5k and leaves a DoT on you. Coupled with the fact that he dual weilds (~2k main hand, ~1k offhand), he can conceivably rip through 15k health before you can get a heal off. Because of this, the key here is topping yourself off. Use holy light as soon as you get hit with either ability. What makes him easy though is the fact that he gives you a break every ~15-20 seconds. He'll fly up into the air for about 20 seconds and shoot flame darts everywhere. They hit me for 711, and are very easy to outrange (~30-35 yard range). Simply run out, top yourself up, Divine Plea if you need to, refresh sacred shield and wait for him to come back. Blast him with judgement / holy shock on his way in, then get ready to heal through his burst. When he flies up again, rinse and repeat. It took me about 15 minutes, but was very easy.

Was fun and a good challenge, I died 7 times (four times on Khit'rix, twice on Deathblow, and once on Sandoval when his burst caught me by surprise).

don't run too far from rain of fire u will get a couple hits initially but once u get out of the (35 yard?) range, you will no longer get hit.

then u can heal or bandage up.

if you run too far towards the edge, even if you are off the snow, you could still fail the quest.

took my druid like 7 bandages to solo it. get this https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=43141 which like healing 6% of your hp everytime u crit with imp lotp. helps a lot.

Solo'd entire chain as a prot pali in all 10/25 man naxx gear. None of the fights were too hard, did not have to bubble or lay hands on any them. Just make sure on the last boss to move out of the fire quickly and heal up while he is shooting down the fireballs.

very easymode, Just send forth Felguard dot the bosses and health funnel.
Only boss i had some trubble with was Deathblow cuz of MS.. but he went down with some luck after 3 tries. It took some time but it sure was fun.

80 Ret Pally (HC Geared) and 80 Holy Priest (Normal/HC Geared) 2 manned.

His fire attack is his biggest weakness, allowed my Priest to get in the 5 second rule for some nice mana returns while we ran to safety. I did the healing during this phase. Spiritual Attunement from my Priest's heals and Divine Plea kept my own mana high.

Had to play slightly more defensivly for this fight. Used Devo Aura and Sacred Shield every 30secs to counter his heavy damage (Around 5000 or so for his melee, his Firewall was 750 per flame that hit you). Don't know if Fire Res worked as I forgot to switch Auras during that phase. Used insta FoL's whenever they were up to help with the healing, its high crit chance a bonus when Sacred Shield procced.

Took around 3mins to kill. Don't know if his Firewall skill is based on his health or a set time but seemed to do it every 15 - 20 seconds. Looked pretty hard to heal but a Tank character will be taking much less damage than I did and most likely avoiding crits.

On the whole was a fun and difficult fight and it's a shame that these arena matches aren't a daily. Good grouping sessions found here. ;)

very easy. I did this on my balanced druid, with a rogue and a mage. The rogue basicly tanked, and i healed. I kept the rogue up with only a regrowth during this fight, he really didn't do anything besides melee. We where laughing at this "final" boss who was the easyest fight out of the whole chain.

Every 1 is saying how u can do with 2 people i was able to solo everyone for the pre battle quest and all the of the battle quest. Im a Dk blood/frost spec u just need to keep the healz consistent i didn't even need army you also don't need PVE or tier 7 gear i have all pvp gear.

If you have a Blood specced DK in the party, a Mark of Blood will make his AoE fireball rain attack completely ineffective. The attack's damage comes from many low damage hits, so each hit will heal you after dealing its meager damage.

Solo'ed it on my tank spec feral druid. pretty easy up till this last part. Still wasnt too difficult just took a long time. If you try and tank him on the side of the ring when he floats up to do the rain of fire thing you sometimes get enough room to run far enough away to avaoid it.

Solo'd tho whole chain as an tank spec Unholy DK, suprisingly easy.. didn't need to use any cooldowns on any fight at all. Hardest one was probably the second.

This fight took a while due to the whole flying up and fireballing thing, but it's a pretty simple fight, and like someone said above, just use bandages when he flies up

As a decently geared ret paladin, i soloed the entire chain. if a mob hits hard and you can out heal the damage with instant flashes plus judgement of light, swap to seal of light. i used Seal of blood for everything except carnage and Thane Deathblow. Thane is hardest, keep yourself toped of and always have Sacred shield up. potions lay on hands bubble shouldnt be needed but dont hesitate if you get low. good luck

The part that made this fight trivial for me (31k HP, uncrittable DK tank) was cooldown managing. As soon as he comes down and is in 5-8yds of you after a fire shield, pop a cooldown. I used anti-magic zone, IBF and anti-magic shield in that order and always had something to pop. Make sure you always have at least 20-30 RP when he's coming back down. Make sure you've got a stack of heavy frostweave bandages to use while waiting for him to land. Took about 10 minutes with him flying up all the time but as long as you manage your cooldowns well and don't get impatient it's easy.

Be sure not to run too far away when he does fire shield. I had him at 30% the first time and he reset on me.

Soloed the whole chain as DPS DK

I just use normal blood dps spec to finish the first five battle. Just use more Death Strike to keep your HP high, use Mark of Blood and/or Vampire Blood if you have.

The final one is a little more tricky, but actually, not the hardest one when you know how to. I finish this battle with pvp unholy spec, with talent improved rune tap. There are several things to notice:

Use rune tap as frequent as possible
Start with Army of the Dead, and use blood presence to dps as more as possible, when the army die out and you get aggro, switch to frost presence and keep to the end of the battle
Summon Gargoyle before fireball phrase and let your pet attacking, just keep enough rp to sustain the bat.
Summon Gargoyle ASAP, you will be able to use it twice.
Drawback your ghoul when no Gargoyle, dont let it die.
Bring enough bandage! When the mod fly up, run away and use bandage if you can.
Dont run too far away, or you will fail because too far.
When run back after fly up phrase, bring up Anti-Magic shell. The mod will have 80% chance to use fire blast as soon as melee encounter.
Be patient.

Soloed the whole chain as a feral druid in mostly Naxx-level gear. None of the fights were very hard. The first 4 are pretty much just stand there spamming abilities. The one before this it helps to walk around backwards in a circle to get out of his whirlwind quicker, but apart from that it's the same as the previous. This one I did use a mana pot, but it's simple as long as you run out of range as soon as you see him putting up fire shield, and use the time he's in the air to heal up a bit.

Fun way to make some quick gold anyway :)

Just solo'd the entire chain as a ret paladin in naxx10/25/deadly/furious gear. This fight was the only fight I needed 2 attempts on, Seal of Light and I switched to Fire Resistance Aura for this one. Judged light, ended up using Lay on Hands but not bubble, this guy can burst pretty hard, as soon as he gets the fire shield run away, you can outrange his fire AoE at about 30 yards. Apart from that not really complicated, make sure you use all AoW procs to FoL yourself.

Soloed the entire chain as BM hunter.

I used a tank spec build inspired by TribunalXHunter, lots of stamina gear (the frost set, pvp etc) and either my turtle Ninja or my crocodile Lacoste as pet. I also used Flask of Stoneblood, a few scroll of stamina or protection and food buff for me and my pet. This would give around 31k hp for me and 26k hp for the pet with 21k armor.

The last boss Prince Sandoval was one of the easist fight in the chain, just had to run away when he did the fire aoe.
The 2nd last boss Thane Deathblow was the worst in the chain, had to try several times to make it work.

Solo'd the entire chain as a Destruction Warlock. The fights took forever, but just send in your VW and keep health funnel up. After it builds up threat you can throw some dots on, etc. I am in full t8.5, but I'm not sure that made much of a difference =P...

Solo'd all the chain as lock amost full nax25man gear.
In some bosses you need to be demo, in some others affliction. In some is pure nuke and heal pet, and in some you have to play with line of sight and demonic circle teleport. If you ask me, its not worth to solo it...get a group and in 5 mins you'll be with 100 more g.
But if you are looking for a challenge that will cost you more than 100g in repairs (for me it was around 10-12 deaths total), but will give you the pleasure to solo these bosses, get many soul shards, potions, and prepare to waste 1+ hour on this.

If you are an 80 feral druid with remotely decent gear this quest whole quest chain is extremely easy to solo. Just hop into bear on every boss and spam your rotation, on the last boss, however, you must move out of the fire nova.

This one was the hardest to solo as an 80 Enhancement Shaman, but I managed to do it. The problem is that when he flies up into the air to shoot flames at you, you're losing valuable time on your Spirit Wolves. Once you lose your Wolves it gets much trickier and I only barely managed to survive long enough to kill him, but I died at the same time as him. I still completed the quest though!

The trick to surviving this is to run away when he flies into the air. You can outrange his fireballs and heal yourself to full. You'll want to stay as far away as you can even after he lands. Let the mob come to you, this will waste time giving your cooldowns time to tick down.

Solo'd whole chain with BM and a 17kHP warp stalker. Tank spec. Used distracting shot when off of DR to let my pet heal through spikes (Carnage/Thane). Last boss was easy as hell, just stood there and nuked at 30yd, only pet got hit (pathetically) by the AoE.

Also soloed the chain as a Holy Paladin. I agree with most of what Mexor said but wanted mention a few other things. My pally is in naxx 25 primarily with some early Uld 10. I did not have crit immunity, but never died because of it. Also lacked any dot reduction; while some of these guys do dot you, it should all be dispelable by a pally. Never used concentration aura, just didn't need it since the only fights with adds(Fight 2, Fight 1 has multiple adds too I guess but I didn't have to heal often for fight 1) I was using HS on self and instant FoLs. Seal of wisdom for mana, light might work for someone but I prefer having full mana.

Fight 1 - Kill the healer then the rogue. Round 1 is a joke compared to the next ones, if you cant handle it get a group. Aura of choice, fight doesn't last long enough for it to matter.

Fight 2 - 2nd hardest fight, mostly due the fears as previously mentioned then anything else. Staying topped off is a must. Ret aura to help bring down adds or devotion to mitigate them is a good idea.

Fight 3 - Stay on top of her and she will waste time putting distance between you instead of attacking after the freezes. Shouldn't have any problems. Frost resist aura is not needed, so personal preference. Don't relax too much, if you let yourself get low before a freeze and she hits you with quick spears you could still probably die.

Fight 4 - Carnage shouldn't be too hard. I just used spells on CD and slipped in bigger heals into the rotation to counter any damage he was doing. This guys easy if you find your rhythm. Devotion Aura.

Fight 5 - This guy is the largest road block, and the only one that killed me. His Mortal Strike is annoying as hell, but i didn't notice it near the beginning of the fight so I wonder if he uses it early on. The thing that helped me most on my second attempt was eating the whirlwind. It did 5k total to me (2 ticks of 2.5k) and my pally is in primarily naxx 25 gear with some Uld 10. I started staying in because its the only time that you are guaranteed NOT to have Mortal Strike on. Occasionally when i ran out and threw a big heal up he'd end his whirlwind and open with MS right before the heal went off. I found it easier to eat it and have the heal go off in between the ticks or right after the 2nd one. No shame in using CDs or Pots on this guy. Devotion Aura.

Fight 6 - Easy but boring. Dispel the flame dot fast but do it between heals. His flame shield lets you refill on mana often. You could probably fight this guy indefinitely without ever going oom. Take your time on him. Flame Resist Aura obviously.

Overall only died on Thane but there was a few very near deaths in fights 2 and 5. Almost died in 6 too when I saw almost 0 damage until after the 3rd fire shield when he came down and beat the crap out of me. Heal went off when i had 500 health left. His damage is erratic as it gets.

Soloed as a Prot Paladin (Seal/Judgement of Light). Havn't found a single thing I havn't been able to solo yet except for that stupid Basic Chemistry quest (Requires two people minimum).

Fire resist up, takes a while, but yeah. Oh, and as noted above, run from the fire. It has a finite range.

The quest rewards from this chain are, in terms of item level, stronger than any other non-instance quest rewards. They're ilvl 183, compared to ilvl 174 blues from all other Icecrown/Storm Peaks quests.

Oddly the whole chain can be repeated except the final battle if you faction change. Just did it on my Paladin as Alliance, and have done it before when I was a Belf Paladin, but now there is no final challenge. It ends after Battle at Valhalas: Thane Deathblow.

Soloed the whole chain as a feral (dps) druid in my tank gear. 40k hp. Prince was the hardest because there is no way to reduce fire damage but i did it.

Just soloed the Battle at Valhalas chain as Prot Pally 4757 gear score.

I focused mainly on keeping mana up so I could cast at him everything that does damage and still heal myself while he levitated.

Used Seal of Wisdom, Judgement of Wisdom, Blessing of Wisdom and Divine Plea.
Also used Fire Aura to resist some of the fire damage he deals. For damage I casted Hammer of the Righteous, Shield of Righteousness, Avenger's Shield and at the final stages Hammer of Wrath every time possible.

his crab died on EVERY boss so I had to taunt quickly

we definitley had some scary moments but neither of us died once

Solo'd entire chain, T10 Shadow Priest, except this guy. Had to beg in /1 for help. Two people arrived and we easily stomped him, I'd died twice attempting to solo.

However... I'm /reloadui atm because I attempted to hand in the quest, and its not allowing me to select a reward.

Reloadui worked. Reward chosen.

If you're thinking of soloing this quest chain as a retpaladin (I did it with 4.5k GS), here's a couple of tips:

1. If SoC/SoV won't do it, SoL definitely will. On carnage, thane and prince, SoL will probably be more valuable to you than SoC is.

2. JoL.

3. Capitalize on the flash of lights. Use all your art of wars to heal yourself, make sure you time it right with thane so that you won't blow it and heal while MSed.

4. BoK, nice when you wan't survival over damage (such as with the latter bosses).

5. Runic mana pots won't hurt when you don't have the hp-space to plea and lose the healbonus from FoL.

And lastly, you will be able to outrun many bosses (for example thane) when they do abilities, or carnage (since he's slow), this gives you room for a holy light to make it easier on you.

I did it in full dpsgear, though it's probably easier in tankinggear (as above mentioned).

After downing this boss, don't leave the ring too soon or you will find the quest marked as Failed, be unable to turn it in, and have to repeat the fight. Wait a few seconds until you see the zone-wide Yell saying ALL HAIL (you) OF VALHALAS!

Just 2-manned this with 2 lvl 78 Droods. I tanked, and my wife DPS/Healed as balance. It was tense, and was not quick or easy, but we completed the whole chain with no deaths. We are both in mixed quest and craft blue/greens.
A nice challenge and a test of our teamwork and strategy.
Felt great to get it done!

I didn't see it posted here yet but for anyone wondering, it is possible to solo the entire chain as a Rogue. I managed to get through the whole thing in combat spec, and decent gear. If your DPS is high enough you can burn through almost all of the challeneges without too much effort. Just Blade Flurry/ Killing Spree, and pop evasion, and follow up with dismantle and you are good to go.

I solo'd this as a hunter using the tanking BM spec found here and using the pet tanking spec found here. I properly used a turtle, named Soup, for the sole reason having Turtle Shell. There are several things to keep in mind while attempting this quest on your own:

All your damage will come from your pet. You will do very little damage on your own. Your main purposes are keeping Mend Pet up and applying either Cower or Turtle Shell at the right times.
I personally left Bite on automatic, but kept it off my pet bar. I kept everything off of automatic except Growl, and applied pet abilities manually but looking back, I could have probably turned Growl off too.
Each fight began with a misdirect to Soup, with Intimidation and Beastial Wrath up. I auto-attacked the boss, while interchanging between Cower and Turtle Shell. Mend pet always must be up!
The hardest of the five challenges was definitely the last one, Prince Sandoval. I didn't realize how hard he hits when he is on the ground. I suggest to get ready for a tough fight and save your Cower and Shell abilities for when he is on the ground.
Last but not least, remember that your pet has a mechanic that reduces AOE damage by ungodly amounts, making much of this questline trivial.

Soloed as Ele Shammy in T9/10 gear. Only the Thane Deathblow was a real challenge. Otherwise, keep your Earth Elemental alive and nuke the boss.

Solo'd the chain as shadow priest in T10 gear (6k GS). The last one was the most fun fight, make sure to keep your shield up as much as possible and burn him down. Run out when he does the AOE spell, you'll have time to heal and HOT yourself up.

Solo-able on a shadow priest. However i am a 6088 gearscore so that might have something to do with it, but w/e.

First fight: Just bubble, dot, and kite the melee. Just burn them down one a time.

Second fight: Bubble and nuke. I had no problems with taking too much damage where i had to disperse, or throw a heal. Recommended if you cant hit as hard as i did.

Third fight: Bubble, and proceded with my usual rotation, when i got low, i popped fiend and faded so my fiend can tank for me for a few seconds. i use my shadowfiend tank, and dispersion only in between weakened soul CD's. before you disperse, make sure your dots are up, throw yourself a POM and a renew, and just VE heal yourself.

Fourth fight: a bubble/nuke fight with everything i did in the third fight.

Fifth fight: was pretty tricky, because as a clothy, this guy hits like a tank. died 3 times, until i switched to my pvp gear with 1378 resilience. same mechanics as third fight.

Sixth fight: really a joke. all you have to watch out for is his dot that ticks for 3k ish. its magic so it is dispellable. the flame rain he does can be bubbled thru.
It is however, a 5 man group quest, so no shame whatsoever in needing help. all my guildies were in ICC... so no help here

Very easy fight as a ret pally with full honor pvp gear (ilvl 232 gear). i have a little over 30k hp with kings. just go all out dps on him to get him to go up in the air. then back out and heal to full. repeat until he's dead.

i used the same system as all previous fights. just use judgement, cs and ds as damage and use art of war procs to heal.

Solo'd the whole quest chain easily on a unholy dk17/0/54 pve dps specced 25k hp in dps gear mostly t9/ ilvl 232 w/cpl crafted icc pieces. Didnt die once on any fight, only had to use deathpact on sigrid iceborn because of that freeze shes does

Basically, All i did was go blood pres at the start popped all my dps cd's at the start (trinkets, gargoyle, Army of dead etc),once your ghouls die go frost pres, keep your dieseases up at all times, I used my reg dps rotation, DS when need be, run away when he lifts up in the air (use this time to bandage if needed). peace of cake

After two failed attempts, mainly because I didn't know his moves, I soloed this as a prot war.

The trick is to run out of the range of his fire missiles spell as soon as you see him shield himself!
Blow an early Enraged Regeneration at around 80 pct health so that you will get another use out of it later on in the fight.
During his shielded barrages of fire, take advantage and bandage yourself as well.

Should be effective.

Solo'd with DK tank in blood spec....5.4 gear score. He downed me once because I didn't know fight. He will AOE, run wide and pop magic shield when you can. Pop'd army of the dead and ghoul about half way through. I've got vampiric blood and rune tap macro'd to heart strike and death strike so they pop when they are available. Neither triggers GCD so this works perfect and pumps your healing. I had 98% life when fight finished. This whole quest line was a blast. Anyone who likes soloing 5 man quests will love all these fights. Blow all your cool downs on this guy. The other fights were cake, but this guy hits hard.

I was 79 and a prot pally and solo'd everything, had trouble on this guy though. I had 2 pieces of cata gear (mace and cloack) and everything else was fairly descent quest and worldly drops. I never bubbled and fell only as low as 10k health (20k total). I posted this because there were no comments of this after cata was out. Thank You.

Finished all quest chain solo as a 79 lvl prot pala with a mere 165 ilvl gear. It was reletively easy never used bouble or lay on hands, and been below %20 hp.

Soloed this as a lvl 80 beastlord hunter, this final guy was bit hard on my pet but dropped fast anyway, with cata gear my hunter lands at 43k hp and over 7k ap, i used the spirit bear from grizzly hills as my pet(lvl 78), was nice xp and cash from these challenges :)

Stayed at range myself don't think i even took any dmg at all.

Soloable as a 78 blood DK, ilvl 96 avg (heirloom helm/shoulder/cape/chest/weapon/trinkets, rest quest/dungeon gear). Glyphs: Death Strike, Rune Strike, Heart Strike/Rune Tap, AMS, Vamp Blood/Death Grip, Horn of Winter, Blood Tap

The steps I used were:

Get a full runic power bar by killing a couple regular mobs above the arena, cast bone shield, then immediately start the event.
Summon your ghoul near the end of his roleplaying speech and cast horn of winter.
The most time you will fight him toe-to-toe is at the start, before the first flame shield is cast, so we'll be using all our defensive cooldowns here.
Open with icy touch from max range, 1-2 heart strikes, then cast Dancing Rune Weapon.
Death strike on cooldown, and Rune Tap as soon as you're missing enough health to not overheal. Blood Tap and/or Rune Strike when you run out of runes for Death Strike (prioritize Rune Strike over heart strike; we want to proc refreshes on Death Strike runes)
Anti-Magic Shell as soon as you get the fire debuff (or you can try to anticipate it and use AMS to prevent its application, either way is fine)
If you start getting low on health before he casts orb (you probably will), hit Vampiric Blood, use all your Death Strike runes, Empower Rune Weapon, Icebound Fortitude, and spam Rune Tap, Death Strike, then Rune Strike on cooldown. Death Pact your ghoul during vamp blood if you need to. Use a health potion during vamp blood if needed.
Run away as soon as he casts flame shield and stand just outside its radius (~50-60 yards is good). Use this time to bandage, keep casting rune tap, refresh bone shield, resummon your ghoul if it's up, and spam horn of winter.
When he stops casting the barrage, stand still and let him run toward you. Icy touch him as soon as he comes in range, then strafe away from him as he approaches you (the goal is to delay him getting in melee range slightly).
As soon as he comes in melee range, hit AMS/Icebound Fortitude/Dancing Rune Weapon if they are up. Rune Tap/Death Strike/Rune Strike until he casts flame shield again. Try to sync vamp bloods with as many Death Strikes/Rune Taps/Death Pacts as possible. Repeat step 8-10 until dead.

I ended the fight with ~40% hp with several strong cooldowns just about to refresh. I did this without using any of the bone witch vrykul bones buff runes from the cave in Jotunheim, so you could use those if you need a little extra. I used 1 runic healing potion during the start of the fight before the first flame shield cast, which I got from the earlier quest in this quest series. I did not have first aid and used 0 bandages.

Soloed the entire chain as a level 80 blood tank in phase 1, and this was by far the most difficult.

Open up with Army and try to do as much damage as possible. In retrospect, it may have been better to use blood presence, but at the time I didn't think about it and was naturally in frost.

You can use AMS off cooldown every second time he rises into the air, so make sure to use it to mitigate the fireballs. You can outrange them, but you might find that it is better to stay within range as he starts to rise into the air, for one more death strike and to ensure you refresh diseases with pestilence. As you run away, a few fireballs will chase you and do some damage.

Bandage when no more fireballs are hitting you, and use rune tap off cooldown. Time it with vampiric blood where possible. Bring out your ghoul as often as you can.

It is a long fight, so just slowly work away at him and ensure you heal as much as possible when out of range. A couple of his hits do a chunk of damage, and the fireball damage can add up quickly.
