don't bother trying to do this if you aren't a lvl 77+ druid... i gave up after getting dropped from the mount twice en route to the npcs you have to rescue, avoided what would've been certain death by popping into flight form ><

As stated, head over to 79,66 roughly, grab the crusaders, come back to the bonfire at 86,76.

Fairly easy quest for such a reward. Right next to the quest giver, there are some dragons. Dismount your own mount, and right click one of them. Then fly north untill you get to Scourgeholme. Find a Captured Crusdader (first ability placed on 1) and fly back to the camp. Deliver the NPC by using the second spell (placed on 2), repeat over again. You'll also get the chance to increase your flying speed, use this whenever it's off cooldown.

you can see the lich king while on a drake. he yells stuff and if you get in about 30 range he will use some atk called tendrils of death or something on u for 3k dps.he melee critted me for 12000000 xD

STEP 1: Disable any UI mods. Some do not work with Blizz's new vehicle system.

STEP 2: Make sure you are dismounted and right click one of the Argent Skytalon mounts right next to the questgiver 87, 79

STEP 3: Fly your new skytalon to the area at about 78, 66 and you will see NPC's named Captured Crusader. Fly close to one and press your #1 ability.

STEP 4: Fly back to the bonfire at 86, 76 and drop your Captured Crusader using your #2 ability.

STEP 5: Go back to STEP 3.

DONT LAND IN SCOURGEHELM, or go up to and stat attacking the LK, it bugs, you dismount and about 80 ppl with 20k health each start succesivley attacking you, its rly not fun

Completing the quest after this (A cold front approaches) phases the town. All mobs disappear.

The nerubians outside the town are a very quick source of chitins, they come in large numbers, and all you need to do is do at least a single point of damage onto mobs tanked by the npc to be able to loot and skin (they drop frostweave on a regular basis as well). On a 30 minute farming trip I got at least 10-15 chitins owing to the fact that horde players and alliance players (non-skinners) were killing the spiders as well.

If you do want to farm the chitins you may want to put off completing this quest.

There's a pretty weird bug in this quest. I was flying near the Leach King, I let him kill me and that morphed me into a zombie, and making it so that your action bar is not a mix of the dragon's action bar but with zombie abilities. If you wait for your zombie morph to ware out you'll die but you'll still be mounted on the dragon upon release. :D

This quest doesn't seem to provide group credit with each drop unlike the similar Dragonblight Alliance quest. So if you're a dual-boxer or someone that plays with another, you'll both have to do this. Fortunately, it's only 3 :).

For those that do not have coordinates...... DO NOT fly North as mentioned above. You will get dropped. Follow the road that goes NorthWest! This will lead you to the captives. :)

While doing this quest, you can actually attack The Lich King, he has a bunch of adds around him, he doesnt seem to be able to turn around, so my Proto-Drake kept hitting him, when I got in front of him, he swung my proto drake vehicle for 115k. He also hit my while i was flying with a kind of frost attack, I will post the name as soon as I get the name of it. As soon as you dismount the drake though he disappears. 27.9mil health though, not bad

Edit: Ok back, when I was back on another proto drake, I went in without getting too close and he hit Me, not my proto drake with a ranged type of attack called Tendrils of Frost hitting me for 2.7k Frost damage, and his Frostmourne starts to glow, its so badass.

Slaves cannot simply get credit for being in the area when a Crusader is returned to the infirmary. Each account must pick up a Captured Crusader and return them to the infirmary to get credit.

So action #3 I believe it was states that using it increases flight speed BY 385% (not TO 385%). Standard flight speed on this vehicle is +200% therefore according to the description activating that ability should increase flight speed to +770%.

Just a small detail but I really did want to see myself flying at roughly 8x speed. lol

This quest appears to be broken (at least for some players) as of 4.1.

Whenever I mount the proto-drake, all of the mobs (including the crusaders you're supposed to pick up) disappear. Sometimes they stay, but then I get the error message 'Out of Range' whenever I try to pick them up. To add to the confusion, on some attempts I can pick them up, but the bonfire you need to drop them off by randomly disappears so that you can't get rid of them. It seems to decide at random what problem you should have as soon as you mount up.

Additionally, I cannot dismount from the proto-drake. Trying to do so (either by using the dismount button or by right-clicking the buff on the top right corner) causes the controls to freeze temporarily. I can still dismount by waiting for the buff to wear off, or I can log off. When I log back in, I will appear at the nearest graveyard.

At first I thought this was addon-related, but all I have is DBM. I didn't need that for the alt I was leveling here, so I just disabled it, then restarted the game. No dice. This is probably the weirdest bug I have ever encountered in my history of playing the game.

EDIT: I think it's the pets! This bug was introduced in 4.1, and I've heard some people claim it's pet-related. I'm going to test to see if the new permanency of non-combat pets is screwing with the vehicle system.

EDIT: Nevermind. Dismissing pets seemed to change nothing for me.

I had the exact same bug and found that it was pet related. So I tried it this time, and since I am a hunter I dismissed my pet and was able to complete the quest. I believe the problem has to do with the control of the mobs you save and it controls them by utilizing pet functions. So I imagine that any class with a pet aka mage, lock, hunter, etc. would probably have this issue. Hope this helps.

Edit: Apparently I spoke to soon. Got to save 2/3 now its bugged again and not one mob in all of ice crown is visible to me.

he didnt even want to give me credit to the quest so i could get on with the questing in icecrown
because they haven't verified a bug yet even though the problem has been reported by a LOT of ppl..

i also have the problem and i'm a druid i have only been able to get one and haven't gotten any more since idk if quiting the quest and getting bk will work or not i haven't tried that yet

just tried quiting and redoing i couldn't get a single one so i just wasted my time and have to try to get all 3 again instead of needing just 2 more

i tried the quest again a few minutes ago and was able to get all the guys and turn it in idk if they fixed the prob or if i was having less lagg or something idk

I had experienced the same bug described above.

I found that dismissing any pets (including non-combat companions!) helped somewhat. Also, not using Soar, and passing between the Crusade camp into Scourgeholme via the Breach allowed me to complete the quest bug-free.

Not sure if it'll work for everybody, but it worked for me.

I spoke to a GM about an hour ago. The only workaround which "seemed" to work for some players was to lower your resolution and graphics to as low as possible.

The bug though has to deal with the vehicle itself (the dragon). While it appears you are moving, the system still thinks you haven't moved at all; this is why many of us don't see any mobs around.

The Development Team is working on this issue but the GM could not inform me of any specific date/time on when it'll be fixed.

I tried this workaround and managed to get 1 guy but as soon as I made it back to camp, I couldn't drop him.

I took the quest now, and i was going fine, got 2 guys save on camp, but at the time i was picking the 3th crusader, all mobs disappear, tried reloading the screen and nothing, lowering res and nothing, even exit the game twice and droping the quest, and nothing again, damn thing is i can't even leave the vehicle.
So im waiting the 15 mins it last and see what happend tomorrow.

Just finished this. They might have hotfixed it today during the rolling restart or try this tip. After failing a bunch of times, I did it this time to completion by never using Soar. Takes a bit longer but finished it without a problem.

Just tried this quest on my rogue. I was able to drop one off and pick up another, but no npcs, no bonfire, and unable to dismount. I never used soar. When the dragon wore off, I found myself at a random spot in a mountain nearby. I was able to go back and remount a dragon, (nps were again visible) pick up a new prisoner, drop him off and pick up and drop off the third. I staunchly followed the path through the Breach this time; not sure if that made the difference or not, but the quest IS still buggy.

I don't know if it's just a coincidence but something to try, I had the scourge area disappear when I was flying high so I decided to stay close to the ground the whole time, and was able to get 3 in a row, I used soar just fine. I didn't walk, just flew low and the npcs seemd to all load normally on both sides.

Ditto. The first time I couldn't see any NPCs and had to log out to dismount. After reading this, I dismissed my companion and just stayed close to the ground. I used soar just fine and I didn't change my graphics.

I had the same issues as above, the first time i tried it it wouldnt let me pick up another soldier after the first and wouldnt let me dismount so i dropped the quest and relogged. The second time i didnt use soar and used the breach to get to Sourgeholm but after picking up 2 soldiers, all the npc's disappeared. I relogged again, ended up at the graveyard, went back and got another mount and was able to pick up the last soldier just fine. Don't drop the quest, just relog and it should work although you might have to do it 2 or 3 times.

This Quest is the 6th quest in the Argent Vanguard area when first starting in Icecrown.
This quest requires you to fly a Argent Skytalon ( Artiglio dei Cieli d'Argento ) across to Scourgeholme and rescue 3 Captured Crusader's and return them to Father Gustav.
It also gives a decent amount of experience when finished (27000xp) and is really fun.
And make sure to do it as quik as possible because With each minute that passes their chance of survival decreases.

Mount a Argent Skytalon immediately to the left of quest giving NPC.
Fly North.
Pick up a crusader.
Turn around; fly south to A.Vanguard.
Drop crusader off at top of hill (by bonfire and tents).
