There will be hostile dwarves that will jump on the other wing of the plane and attack it. If you're lazy like me, you can just CC the first guy that jumps on. More dwarves cannot jump on once there is already one there. Then you can kill him after you get out of the hole.

If you're a combat rogue, don't ever consider doing Killing Spree while on his flying machine. This will dismount you and you will fall to your death.

Quick tip also:

If you have low weapon skills for certain weapons .. use this quest to boost them up. Per run you can get rougly 50 skill ups without being hit.

Seeing as I'm a feral druid .. my weapon skills were very low. Managed to get 4 up to 350 +- within no time. So quite a nice 2- way quest ;d.

Keep in mind though .. by not killing the mob your ride will blow up making you plummet to your death or survive ( just ).

Wow! Definately one of the more enjoyable quest finishers. I am so happy that blizzard when with old warcraft lore for this expansion. It really ties in nicely with warcraft 3.

When the conversation is going on i believe the most epic part of the storm peaks music is also set to play. And when the conversation is over you get to see the other two Bronzebeard brothers slowly walk away and gradually vanish into the distance, all the while with the snow howling and music playing.

Truely an excellent end to one of the best quest lines in WOTLK.

No one seems to say something that I think is important. Completing this chain will unlock the daily named Pushed Too Far. Completing this daily gives you 250 reputation with The Frostborn.

This is a really hard quest to do if you are a hunter :(. Enemies on the airplane are all in melee range and really quite hard to kill.

Ret Paladins: you can Repentance the first mob that gets on the plane over and over and no more mobs will hop on. Much easier to enjoy the story this way, and you can just kill the one mob after you get out of the Engine of the Makers.

Tears. There are some great quest lines in Northrend, but I think this one may top them all.

Regarding completing this quest as a hunter, I didn't have a problem at all. Even BM specced, I just cycled Mongoose and Raptor Strike. They did hardly any damage to me, I never fell below 98% health.

If for some reason while doing this quest, you are forced to abandon it while you are still inside the engine, and you decide to wait for Brann to respawn, you are better off leaving the engine and going out.

I had this happen and WoW sort of put me in a phase were Brann isn't in there, I had to fly out and move around until I was in the phase were the Iron dwarves are fighting with the frostborn. Then when I entered the engine, Brann was there.

When all three were flagged blue I could buff them. I all gave Arcane Intellect, but it seems Magni is immune to it. Stubborn old lad. :)

Just finished this quest a second time, and realized that Velog says something along the lines of the player perhaps meeting with Muradin again at Arthas' doorstep. And of course, we do.

Has anyone else been having problems completing this part of the quest since the 4.01 patch? I have tried twice, and every time I get to Frosthold I am dismounted from the flying machine and Brann is back where he started. I am only 3 quests away from my 100 quest in the area. Any ideas?

mindyk1212, it bugged just after I landed back in Frosthold for me. I abandoned the quest and redid the last stage, being careful to follow Brann as he walked to meet with the King after we landed. I had to stay at his side for the whole conversation after that, but it eventually completed. The turn-in for the reward it nearby (the King walks right over there after completion).

For the hunters struggling with this, it might be worth noting that Scatter Shot CAN be used. It's not the biggest damage dealer and the effect of the disorientate is 0 on the little plane part of the quest, but hey, damage is damage right?

I think this quest was broken since magni is no more, we got the the point where he shows up, and Yorg turns around and says 'Speaking of which...' , and then it seems like nothing else is happening. been here for 15 mins.

Luck seems to be a major factor here. You can't do anything about the lightning bolts shot at the plane, and you really have to hope that enough miss so you can make it all the way up..

This bugged on me. I flew on the machine, fought off the dwarves like normal, we landed at Frosthold and...nothing. No dialogue, no "complete", Brann just stands there not moving. I abandoned and picked it up again at Frosthold, and nothing happens. Has this happened to anyone else or do I need a GM to reset it for me?

Just done this quest and the same thing happened; flew back on the machine, Brann was motionless so I logged out and back in again and Brann had disappeared so I'm putting in a ticket.

GM told me to abandon and restart, which I did, and all was ok, but note that you have to go back to Brann at the bottom of the pit where you should find him sitting in his flying machine.

Just had to do this twice just now. First time I flew off into the lower town and didn't follow the conversation so it didn't complete. Just went back to the bottom of the engine and found the plane there again.

84 Warrior had np; just knocked the dwarves off the plane both times. Ended with ~25K and second go at ~13K so went alright. Had no problems simply sticking with Brann as he walked after the landing and listening to the convo complete. Just be patient.

I had the same frustrating string of failures as many other hunters, until I figured this out:

The problem was that the third guy to jump on the plane was the one that always got me.

Ironically, the trick is not to kill them too quickly. Wait until you get out of the pit before dispatching with the second guy.

I did this and had about 15% health left on the plane. Usually I was down to about 20% by the time the third guy jumped on.

All I did was spam raptor strike. No hunter's mark (I'd forgotten, and that's probably why I didn't kill the second guy quickly enough). Completed at lvl 79.

The attackers don't do a lot of damage to you, but it appears that they will damage the plane.
If you don't kill them (or keep them feared as mentioned) you'll likely find that the plane will dump you outside, and you'll have to do it again.

...if you're a priest, Mind-Control the guy that jumps on the plane. If you're a warlock, Fear the guy. No other bad guys will jump onto the plane, so long as you don't kill the first one. Keep it feared or MC'd, and you're good to go.

At first I had to pass on this one because I could find no place to stand to get on the plane. Well as I wrote this I found that you really have to go up to the edge of the ice next to the wingtip to make it. Mobs jumped on the plane for about the first half of the trip, I just fought them as I normally would.

I don't understand why Blizzard made so many quests melee only. If you level as a hunter, especially if you get a new weapon in Northrend, you simply won't have the weapon skills to even hit the mobs let alone kill them. No traps, no volley, you just get dropped to your death. I had to spend a lot of time leveling weapon skills before even attempting this.

That does it! We finally have the keystone... It's beautiful! I've been around the world more than once, but this thing's got me all jittery with excitement again. I suppose now's not the time to stop and admire though, we need to get the heck out of here.
