Note that there are two captains you need to kill for information! You kill them like any other monster. A text box pops up at the end and you will get credit. You do not have to kill slow or wait for information before finishing them off!

The captains are on the top deck of the ships, not in the "normal" captain's room.

Both captains can be found at the wheel of each of the two ships.

The captains stand alone on the aft deck of each of the two ships. You don't need to fight any other mobs and you don't need to talk to the captains, just go ahead and kill them. I flew into the harbor at water level (under the gryphon patrol's radar) until I got right behind the first ship, ascended to the deck, killed the guy, ditto on the other one, flew back out again. Took maybe 2 minutes.

They resurrected Landgren? He's the one that will know where the grand admiral is then!

He was the High Abbot Landgren in New Avalon and Dragonblight. He meets his (first) end in the Horde quest A Fall From Grace. Spoiler alert: you can read his full story at WoWWiki.

Welsington and Hartford are their names if memory serves. Go beat the information out of them and then end their miserable lives.
