As interesting as this quest line is story-wise, it is simply too buggy and flawed to be excused.

I highly suggest you do NOT do this line if you want to level quickly. If you want the story, then by all means, have at it. Just prepare for a significant amount of frustration and some repair bills.

I think I have the answer. Which choker you find might depend on whether or not you have already completed the other half of the Drakuru quest line.

This is the most badly designed questline in Northrend, don't bother doing it unless you're farming Ebon Hold rep, like I unfortunately am. This quest line is absolutely awful.

To get the chain you have to get Unliving Choker that got a 100% from Withered trolls.
** Wowhead say 9%, but its wrong because it only drops if you havent done the quest**

It seems that if you have started this quest line from https://www.wowhead.com/cata/quest=12633, then you cant pick up this line.

This entire quest line is just awful. Almost every single quest has some sort of major glitch or design flaw and has had them since the release of WoTLK.

For those leveling to 85.

This quest line will take you upwards of an hour to do (maybe even two). Avoid like fire. Come back and do it at 85 for Achievements.

ok I have been going insane farming the Unliving Choker for over a week now and I have killed those Trolls many times over (seemingly they must have more lives than a cat does) I have completed and got the achiev called Guru of Drakuru. I need 1 quest for for completing 100 quests in Zul'Drak. Little did I know IF you turn in Betrayal they take the choker and YOU CAN NOT get it again. I believe the drop rate on Withering Choker to be absolutely lower than 1% although a GM told me it's at 1.8. I have indeed asked for help from the GM's which they just turn a deaf ear telling me in a 10 yr old wording "keep farming" ( I can see it now .. them sitting there laughing knowing this item drops the same as the Vial of the Sands recipe.. It DOESN'T unless your extremely lucky. I agree this has got to be the absolutely worse quest in this game. Any suggestions? (either choker will do)

Just skip all of these unless you need loremaster. The disguise fails frequently, sometimes the second you reapplied it, if it does fail which can be randomly, if you attack something (even accidentally like hunter shot), or from all the mobs that can see through it, you suddenly agro everything around you, and it can be a lot of mobs. The quests themselves are, I wouldn't say buggy, but clumsy. Like if you have a ghoul that hasn't brought the crystal to the middle yet and control another one you just lose that, or the abomination quest (basically like the one in Icecrown). If you don't have FD or shadowmeld or vanish, these quests can just be a huge waste of time. Very little combat so if you are using flasks or food it is basically wasted.
