Iron Thane Furyhammer is located at the very top building located in Dun Argol.

When you enter the building at the top of the hill, there will be an elevator directly to your left. Go down the elevator and you'll find Thane down there with his body guard. Take control of your golem and you'll have two spells on your UI. Target the body guard and cast the second spell to deactivate the shield around Thane. Use the first spell to kill Thane. The body guard only stays deactivated for a few seconds so be prepared to target him again and hit the second spell. Once Thane is dead you can run out. I stuck around to loot him but he only dropped some silver.

The guard "Anvil" may aggro if you dismount your golem nearby after killing Thane. Elite, but doesn't hit hard at all on plate (DK quest loot lvl 78). Didn't drop anything for me but minor coin.

Don't leave golem suit while on the elevator platform. I dropped down to bottom of elevator shaft, (to a place that shouldn't even exist). First time i was on the platform.. Second time i was near it, and when exiting the suit, got tossed into the shaft.

BTW, the elevator seems to be a "safe" place. Mobs stopped attacking me while on it, and don't follow on to it.

- Kill the two trash mobs before you engage Iron Thane
- Then kite him in around the middle column, the golem wont aggro, until you hit him
- Your main attack is melee range, use it, but back off while whirlwind
- The golem will eventually recast the shield, just use EMP then, range seems to be fine within the room
- elevator platform ist a safe spot

Don't dismount from the golem while on the elevator. You will fall down the shaft and not be able to get back out without a Hearth. If you're low on health it will probably kill you, but it's a short shaft so you'll only lose a few thousand HP.

While doing Bringing Down the Iron Thane, be sure to take his pet Golem, The Anvil, out as well. He does very little damage to your Golem, less than one hundred damage a hit, and you have ample time between his casts of his Ability, Molten Blast, to use your EMP stun.

From him, I got two greys, a green, and three Crystallized Earth.

Apparently you can attack the opposite faction right now. Not sure if it is bannable since i can't seem to find a thread about it anywhere. I'll get back with more information later :)

If you're doing Loken's Orders as well, be sure to take the disguise off or you'll still be wearing it in the golem and won't be able to attack the thane or The Anvil.

I'd like to note that you can attack enemy faction players while in the golem. It's basically free HKs, and even if they get your golem down you'll pop out at 100%, ready to fight... great fun on pvp servers!

HOLY COW this is amazing! I killed 27 allies without death with this. Just attack them, and when they kill ur golem, click on the control unit and u will mount him again with full hp!

pro tip: don't dismount the golem on the elevator. you will fall through the earth.

This golem can be used to gank the other fraction in the area which is freaking hilarious and may not be worth turning this quest in.

The golem won't be attacked by most mobs unless you attack first (the thundering one's will attack you). Also if the other fraction is doing the quest where your in disguse it will undo it and they will be swarmed by any mobs in the area. And having 30k hp and about 1k dmg an attack is damn near impossible to bring down solo for them and if they do kill it you can just finish them or summon another. LOL

It's also nice that you blend in with the other golems for more ez ganking.

While the quest line is awesome and all, I found the dishonorable ending to leave a sour taste in my mouth. We keep promising to let this poor dwarf go, and in the end decide to kill him as soon as he is no longer of use?

Whatever you do, DON'T use the golem on one of the elevators you'll fall inside the elevator and get stuck.

I did this quest today on my Warlock, and I simply love this golem <3

There were some people looking for more for The Conquest Pit, so I decided to take my golem all the way to Conquest Hold to join them. It turned out he is an excellent tank, since I managed to tank the first challenge without having a healer in the party (we had a DPS War and a Hunter + my golem) and the second challenge with a Paladin (yes, the golem is bandageable/healable :D)

You can take him anywhere you like on the continent, as long as you activate him in Dun Argol. He's selfhealing out of combat (like 1% every 5 sec) so if you get him beat up you can always just hike around for a bit untill he's healed up. The only downside is that he's a bit slow, so if you wanna get him somewhere far away you should be prepared for a long hike.

I'd still recommend not turning in this quest, simply because it's one of the most awesome items in WoW in my opinion, esspecially since I'm on a PvP server, which adds to the fun ^^

With Patch 3.0.8, Blizzard made it so that you're leashed to Dun Argol sadly. Blizzard clearly hates fun!

76,63 Dun Argol at the top of the hill. Go down the elevator and you'll find Thane down there with his body guard. Use Golem Control Unit to take control of your golem and you'll have two spells on your UI. Target the body guard and cast the second spell to deactivate the shield around Thane and also it will deactivate golem (The Anvil) from fighting for a while. Kill first body guard then jump out from War golem and kill Thane.

Not sure if this quest has changed, but it is not necessary to dismount the golem to kill the Thane. If you stay in the golem you can disable the Anvil and then attack the Thane using the golem controls. Simple and easy.

I had a glitch while doing this quest. When I attempted to leave the suite my action bars and such did not return, I still had the golem's bar. This pretty much made me helpless. I got back in and out of the suit a couple of times to see if that would clear it up. Nope. I got in the suit and booked it out of there which only created a train and when I hit the end of the area where the golem isn't allowed I was booted out and I still couldn't use my spells or horse...and I had mobs on me. >_> I died. While dead I still had the golem's action bar. Got to my body and still had the bar. I logged and that seemed to fix it.

When you enter the building at the top of the main hill there is an elevator that goes down directly on your left (3 mobs in the area). The elevator acts as a safe point, or so it did too me. Iron Thane is on the floor below, so take the left elevator and go down.

1. Once down, deploy your Golem using the "Golum Control Unit" item given at the Quest-Giver.
2. Walk around into him, get close and start using Attack 1.
3. If your Golem comes to low HP (That is 100% will) dont worry - Either let it die, or jump out
4. If you have jumped out, your Golem has re-charged (30seconds) and enable it again, it's automatic and quick
5. Your Golem is back at full health, and Iron Thane and his Bodygaurd* are still on Low-HP - Advantage you.
6. When you kill Iron Thane, use Attack 2 too disrupt his Bodygaurds sheild, allowing an easy kill.

Quest Complete: I got dropped a FrostSteel Lockbox.

Can't believe how many "Don't dismount golem on elevator!" posts I just read. I thought this wasn't thottbot.

Anyway, what I wanted to say was that using the golem will kill your pet (at least ghouls).

Maybe it's just me but I was having issues with this questat first. The elite was beating my golem up pretty good so at 10 percent health for the golem I was riding, I left the golem (bein a 74 enhancement shammy) popped my earth elemental totem, magma totem, and my feral spirit. Both baddies downed, 2 or 3 healin waves used, no pots used. Got credit for the quest. So you don't HAVE to use the golem given to you to complete this quest. At least, not throughout the fight anyway.

Unfortunately you can only use the golem inside Dun Argol. My guess is that seeing as how Alliance is only good at PvP when they can either out lvl you, outnumber you, or attack you when you are almost dead, most likely enough Alliance members complained so Blizzard changed that, which sucks because I was going to use the golem to wrap up a couple group quests with it.

Did this quest with my paladin and priest (second account) and the most hilarious thing happened when I were going to start the attack. I clicked the thane to enter the attack mode before I ran into the fight, but right then, my main froze and I had to alt+f4 it. And to my big surprise the golem charged the thane and totally owned him! It did all of it on it's own, using all attacks etc Oo

Both chars got quest complete, as the main were "inside" the golem and still physically in the game since the server hadn't detected the crash yet.

Absolutely hilarious to watch this totally unexpected event that I burst into tears laughing ^^

Crazy easy.
Iron Thane is in the basement of the big building on the hilltop.

Just summon your golem, walk up to him and use the #2 skill to drop his forcefield.
MAKE SURE YOU AUTOATTACK YOUR GOLEM ON HIM.
Then just hit #1 whenever it's up, and hit #2 if the forcefield comes back up, or if Anvil tries to cast his aoe.

The #2 skill stuns them both for like 20 seconds. Seriously, this quest is easymode.

Only saw The Anvil there, no Thane. Killed The Anvil with the golem and when he respawned shortly after, so did the Thane and I was able to complete the quest.

Edit: You can no longer ride the golem all the way to a town, it boots you out as soon as you leave Dun Argol.

...There seemed to be a bug allowing his guards (including the elite golem) to still hit you from below after you return to the upper floor, so you may need to stay on guard until you exit the building.

He is int he building at the top of the path, on the lower floor. You enter the building at the middle floor and must take an elevator down to reach him.

Descrizione

Now that the golem is fully charged, it can be used against the leader at Dun Argol.

When I observed Iron Thane Furyhammer, he was always guarded by a personal golem that shielded him from all harm.

That construct called The Anvil, can be disrupted, causing him to drop the shield. Use your golem's EMP ability to do just that. You'll be able to activate and take control of your golem inside Dun Argol.

The thane is in the main plant at the top and supervises production from the bottom level.
