Kill the Harvest Collector mechanicals you'll find in the fields of Farshire. When you kill one, use Jeremiah's Tools to transform it into a Converted Harvest Collector. A Reckless Scavenger will spawn and make a beeline straight for the Harvester, but you should be able to avoid the fight if you want to.

Perhaps I'm just a bit slow, but it took me a while to realize that after you kill the Harvester, you had to immediately right click on the Harvester and then right click the quest item given to you. I probably wasted 15 minutes figuring this out and as no one else posted this, I will do so to help the other slow people on this board!

Jeremiah is looking directly towards the field where the Harvest Collectors are, 56,62. Fairly straighforward, just kill it then apply the tools (it helps if you don't stand too close to him when you do it like I did).

Ok, I've got it! The rewiring is a little complicated, but nothing a clever <class> like you can't handle.

Take my tools and put some of the harvest collectors out of commission. Once they're down use the tools to plug all the red wires into the blue sockets. That'll make them go into self-defense mode. Hurry, <name>. Before long there won't be anything left to save.
