The range is pretty long, so you don't have to get very close at all. Just chuck the grog into the mass of trolls from a good distance.

I need a little help... I've tried to toss grog at every single mob i could see... But without getting any progress in the Q..

As a mage, i found this to be the best way to do this quest:

Make sure you have full health and mana, pop Mana Shield on, run into the mobs, get as many as you can, while continuing to pop mana shield up when it dicipates, then use frost nova on the mob, Blink towards the road, and throw the grog at the frozen mobs.

You have to be very quick tho, the grog takes atleast 2 seconds to get to its destination, and frost nova only lasts for 8 seconds

If you run out of charges on your Mack's Dark Grog, you can return to Mack and request another item.

Upon completion of this quest, Mack also offers a daily quest to burn 30 trolls.

I found as a hunter that if you got onto the left stairs, on the leftmost side (i.e. past the ruined pieces that separate the left / right banister's into 2 pieces) then you can place a frost trap at the bottom which will aggro some. If you stand at the top of the banister you can throw the bomb at the corner of the bottom of the banister where they run up to get to you while they're still in your frost trap which will net you 3+ / charge.

Hopefully that made sense.

Travel time appears to be lower the closer it is, but as noted, you can't throw too close... so I opted for gaining vertical distance. I flew up onto the pillar at 15.75, 28.32, and started tossing from safety into the mass below.

A tip!
The questline: "<Hic>... gotta burn these corpshes 'fore they shtart walkin' around again." doesn't mean you have to kill them before throwing grog against them.
I misunderstod the word "corpses" and couldn't understand why they didn't burn after I killed them.

As others have stated, stand on the edge on either left or right side of the big staircase and simply throw the grog on the assembled trolls beneath you.

I kept on rounding up mobs(and also died alot of times because of the elites also aggroing) and each time i had a big group and was ready to throw the grog some1 always threw a grog before me:( And i got killed by elites afterwards

Edit:No1 stole my group of mobs. i threw the grog they burned but i dident get any quests objective.

If you use the eastern side of the ledge the mobs will run up to you. That means you can aggro them with an aoe and they will run up to you. Use that to your advantage by kiting them up to you and throwing the fire to the area they have to run through to get to you.

If you trained Cold Weather Flying, you can land on the end of the west ledge, target one, cast a spell and evade them, making them stand still for easy pickings.

Throw the grog on the trolls thats going crazy and are greens on the sides of the entrance of the ruins, do not throw it on the blue trolls running out from Drak'tharon, Just go west/east and throw at the "green" trolls.

Here's a little tip for Frost Death Knights for getting this quest done quickly and easily:

1- Fight one mob to build up as much runic power as possible.
2- Shift into Frost Presence, then mount up and aggro a lot of mobs, but be careful not to get dazed. You can be safe and pull about a dozen at a time, or you can be risky and try and get them all in one pull.
3- Round up all that you've aggro'd and then use Hungering Cold. Make sure to NOT use Death and Decay.
4- Back up and use the item.
5- Run away and then repeat as necessary.

This quest is trouble.

The mobs don't hit hard, but once you get 10 of them and a couple of elites on you the numbers start to add up. The bottle got a HUGE minimal range. When you get dazed there's no chance to get proper range again.

Tried it as a frost mage in T7. The mobs die too easy to my spells, this won't complete the quest. When dazed it's not possible to get proper range from frozen mobs, even using blink. The bottle projectile flies quite slow. And it got a cooldown of 15 seconds, if you miss you're finished.

In the end I just flug the bottles at random into the crowd. Hitting something every now and then was tedious, but faster than trying to round up mobs.

As a hunter I sent my cat in, rounded up about 5 or 6 at a time and then tossed the jug. Had it done in about 3 mins. Watch out for the Horrified Scourged Trolls tho. They don't burn and die like the famished one.

LOL. Ok hunters, your dog wont like this, but who cares?

Res/heal your pet. Stand at the right of the rock at 16,30. pick a random Scourge Troll in the very back of the courtyard.

Send dog, /Huntersmark, /petattack.

Once the fight starts, throw a Grog into the fray. You might have just enough time for the Grog to CD and throw it between you and the incoming 20-or-so Scourge.

Wait until they all burn, then Feign Death! When they all run back they will burn up.

Res/heal pet.

Lather. Rinse. Repeat, if necessary.

For Any Class:

Mount up, gather a ton, run from them, get far enough away, bomb 'em. Easy.

And a tip: Throw it quite ahead of the pack, because it takes a while to hit the ground.

To be eligible for this quest:

0. Go to Grizzly Hilly (16,47)

1. Do quest https://www.wowhead.com/cata/quest=11984 from Samir https://www.wowhead.com/cata/npc=26424 standing right near Mack https://www.wowhead.com/cata/npc=26604

2. Talk to the troll in the cage and do https://www.wowhead.com/cata/quest=11989 to start the chain of quests.

3. After you finish the 3rd quest in the chain (https://www.wowhead.com/cata/quest=11991) (don't worry it's quick) you are eligible for https://www.wowhead.com/cata/quest=12484 which then lets you get this quest.

TIP: Complete the whole chain for another Drak quest so you have 2 at once :)

Good tip for hunters (cold weather flying necessary).
1. Land on the statues nearby.
2. Put your pet on stay then use eyes of the beast to gather mobs.
3. Throw grog and kill them.
4. Put your pet on follow and he'll just teleport back up onto the statue with you.

This quest is easy mode for hunters that have flying mounts. 1st what you do is land on the tower in the middle of all of them. then use eyes of the beast and drop your pet down there and put him on passive and stay and put mend pet on him then just bomb away. when your done just fegin death and fly away

Quite an easy quest
Go stand at 17.6, 27.2
and start throwing your grog's.
An easy way to do this quest is to mount up and jump on to the stair railings on either side of the stairs
then run up the rail and go through the gap and you should be up a ledge and you can start throwing grog's with a clear view on your targets.
Also you aggro some but they can't attack you so you have an easy shot at them.

Ok yeah, you have to go to the right of the stairs, a bunch of them are just standing there, Very easy once you find where it is. I'm a hunter and indeed my pet aggroed a bunch then i threw a bomb.

Go up the stairs a bit and stand on the stairs edge throwing the fire at the smaller trolls (not the elites). When they catch on fire, they'll (sometimes) run into others, catching them on fire. It may appear at first that you don't have enough charges -- but it all works out in the end just barely.

you dont need to have flying mount to get on the stairs. Just run down from the stairs and jump.

For some reason when I was leveling a shaman, I would attract extra mobs to me, so being a shaman I found 2 tactics that worked when they got too close to me.

1: Use your earth/fire elemental to tank them while you back up.
2: Use your stoneclaw totem to give yourself some extra room to fire upon them.

If you've got Cold Weather Flying, land on top of one of the big flat blocks next to the bottom of the stairs, and lob with impunity. Typically get 2-4 per throw without aggroing in any way or sending anything else down there, and you've got 16 charges to work with. Easy.

Plant yourself atop the column at 19.7, 28.2 throw grog until you get bored or complete the quest ;¬D

I thought of this as on all my previous alts I was occasionally running away from aggro'd corpses. Not a problem on the column.

Found a very very quick way of doing this all 20 in 1 go.
There is if you can notice it a little cliff that is right beside the wall. You can get up on that wall and just throw a regular attack at 1 of the farthest trolls you have to burn. It should then run away from you into all the other trolls and run up a incline near the DTK stairs there is only like a 2 yard space they can pass to get to you throw the grog there and it will burn every troll that tries to get pass.

There is a map. The dot to the upper right is where you stand. The dot right below that is where the troll is you attack or one around there. The dot to the left is where they will come up to you.

If you have acces to a flying mount its quick to get to if you do not go to the Zuldrak side and drop down into the pool below no fall damage.

This quest is incredibly simple if you have Northrend Flying. Just land on top of the pillar at 19,28 and hurl the Mack's Dark Grog down on the mobs below. They will make it even easier by re-grouping up together while the grog is on cooldown.

Good way if you have a flyer, throw some grog on a specific point, then mount up and land in it, maybe run around a bit and drag them back through.

Easy way of doing this: Aggro a ton of mobs, start running, throw bottle a certain distance behind yourself, keep running...
When the mobs turn around and run back, they'll run through the fires, making this quest really easy =)

Priests just throw your fiend in there and throw grog, the mobs hit for 60s so theres no reason your shadowfiend would die before the 15 second duration is up.

I found that the easiest way for a Death Knight to do it is to fly on top of the pillar type things at the bottom of the stairs, DnD a big mob so that they stand there and look up at you, and finally toss the bomb into the middle of them. Rinse, wash, and repeat, and ta-da, you're finished. I hope this helped some of you.

Well if you are standing on the stairs look to your right and you see that big statue standing there and if you can fly just land on that and fire a way no agro or nothing needed kill all them in just a few shots.

Easiest quest ever! Just stand on the rock at 16.00, 29.89 and lob the grog at the mobs. I've done this on at least 6 toons and never been attacked.

Ran up the stairs as stated above...wrong at this time. You do not need to go up at all. Just go to the left of the stairs. If you have flying, get on Statute and throw away or stand on wall, piece of cake.

As of 4.3, the cooldown on the bottle has been reduced to 2 seconds and it now has 50 charges. Much less annoying quest now!

20.28 is a safe place to stand where the trolls won't aggro. Facing NW I was getting about 5-6 trolls per toss. Yes they move around but you have 15 charges.

I targeted the elites from up by the road and kept moving. Targeting the elites, guaranteed one or more burns per throw as the "Famished" seemed to run towards the elites when they were hit. No muss, no fuss, no risk.

Stand on the wall overlooking the trolls just to one side of the central staircase. You might not be able to get up there without a flying mount, I'm not sure. Get close enough to the edge that you get in combat and several of the trolls will run away from you, up the staircase and along the ledge. Pop a bomb around where they appear and back away slowly while they run through the flames. If you go into the water or back away too far you will go out of comabat and any left will leash. I managed to do the 30 in 4 pulls like this. Just make sure the cooldown is finished on the grog before you pull. :)

Best way to do this quest is with a tank. Let the tank get a bunch together & the other member(s) toss the grog. Will do this quest fast. Trying to bomb them 1 at a time is hard as you have to be some distance away from them and of course they will not be still. Do not kill them as they then will not burn.

Fly onto or jump up on the end of the staircase at 16,28 and face west. You'll see a little courtyard with the famished trolls milling around. Toss a bottle near a little cluster, but keep in mind they move around... for a few seconds the ground will burn and anything moving through it will also give you credit.

Seems you have to throw it far. Or you get "too close" messages.

Do a pet sacrifice to get the most you can with 1 throw.

Target an elite and send pet at him. Throw vile as close to elite as you can. Pet should aggro a bunch, and run through the vial's cloud on way to elite. This should get you about 5 or 6 in one throw.

The grog you throw does NOT work if the trolls are in combat with you. I tried multiple times to round up the trolls, throw a fire and drag them through the fire. They never catch fire. You have to just get lucky with then running through the fire naturally.

If you don't get 20 trolls with your 15 charges of grog, DON'T abandon the quest and try again. Just go back to mack (the quest giver) and he'll give you another one. If you have one in your bags with low charges, you have to trash it first since getting a new one won't refresh the charges.

The only reason to do this quest is to get the followup dungeon quest for the keep.
1. you don't get experience for the kills
2. the quest is frustrating because it is pure luck on how many trolls you burn per throw.
3. If you agro horrified trolls or famished trolls, you need to kill them for no loot or exp, even though they're fully grown level 73 mobs.

If you don't have flying: Get on a mount, go up to the top of the stairs of the way up to Drak'Theron Keep. Turn around, leap down onto the railing. Go up the railing and off to the right at the top, drop down onto the ledge behind the troll bombing area. Angle yourself, time stuff, and throw grog. No aggro whatsoever!

If you do have flying, just fly up there onto that ledge and throw the grog.
