They are the dead pilots in the oil lakes.... some are right by the crashed airplanes some by themselves in the water. Just talk to them ... all are located in the surrounding lakes filled with oil-stained animals

The corpses, being puny and gnomish, can be hard to spot in the water. Use "/tar Fizzcrank Recon Pilot" to find them more easily.

Do use the macro.. only way to go on this quest!

I used this macro to see the gnomes easier:
/tar Fizzcrank Recon Pilot

Able to do while mounted.

Stay on your mount. Right-click the dead gnomes lying by the lakes around the questgiver, when they are not clickable you've got the wrong ones.
Don't forget to right-click them twice, the corpses do not despawn instantly.

It its dead pilot's around the lake. Just go to them and press "Search for the piolet's insignia". Really easy quest.

A couple of things blunt the pain of this quest.

#1 Create a macro /target fizzcrank and drag to action bar.

#2 Mount up and head to the top of the ledge just east of Iggy.

#3 Ride north along the ridge, clicking on your macro every so often to confirm dead pilots are in range.

#4 You can loot the badges without dismounting.

#5 The black pilots' outfits stand out against the white rock ridges, making them easy to spot.

#6 I was able to find all my badges within five mins., all along the ridges, and I didn't aggro a single oil-stained animal while doing it.

As of the latest patch this quest has been hot-fixed, you can no longer get more than one insignia from a single corpse.

You can obtain them while mounted. It doesnt dismount you.^^

Injured or not, as squadron commander, I'm responsible for locating and returning the insignia of all fallen pilots under my command. In all the years I've flown with Fizzcrank, we've never failed to return the signet of a pilot.

My injuries make it dangerous for me to stray far from the safety of the wreckage, but perhaps you would be willing to help me recover the insignia? In the meantime, I'll make preparations to carry out my final duty as squadron commander.
