Testing the Rune is rather easy, run over to Giants' Run (It is designated on the map) - and find a neutral Stone Giant, get fairly close and use the quest item given...this will give you a pet (that is not a good tank but does fairly decent damage). Thats the first objection, second you need to kill the only named NPC in Giants' Run, you may have come across him but at the moment I don't have a location because I couldn't use a map mod when I was on the quest. (GG Beta) Really easy, have fun!

Binder Murdis is directly on top of the "N" in the word "Giants' Run" on the map.

Save your pet that you get from this quest and complete Demolishing Megalith on your way back. Megalith is an elite that you kill to end another chain... using this pet enables you to solo him (makes a decent tank and the stun your pet has helps a lot).

Hunters, don't worry about dismissing your real pet for this quest: since the giant isn't an actual controllable pet (but rather a "guardian" like the Tracking Hound from SM), you can have both it and your perma-pet with you at the same time.

Curious to see what would happen, I tried using my pet stone giant to solo one of the runed stone giant elites for another quest and quickly got my butt handed to me. Your pet giant is good enough to beat Murdis (a regular level 70 anyone can just as easily kill without the pet) but almost no help against the elites.

After you are done with this quest and handed it in. The large guardian follows you around for a long time. Helps you kill things and is quite nice boost.

Why has no one mention how to use Rune of Command? It says it requires the broken tablet? Where is it? Quest Helper doesn't seem to have that...

You use the rune of command on Stone Giant located at 71.9 23.2 or North of the Second N in Giants Run.

Just a note, the guardian mob summoned by the item helps immensely for the two group quests here. (https://www.wowhead.com/cata/quest=11355) (https://www.wowhead.com/cata/quest=11359) It spams a 5~ second stun, and a debilitating strike that reduces melee damage done by 75%. You still have to do most of the tanking and damage though, as it hits like a kitten.

This has been said on all the other quest pages for this area, but myseriously not here.

What am I missing? I have repeatedly killed Binder Murdis but can't make the rune work on the giant. I am told it is an invalid target.

target the Stone giants in yellow not the red Runed giants. . . it wasnt obvious to me. . .

Do NOT land on the pillar next to the stone giant and use the rune. The pet will spawn on top of the pillar and it will not come down.

Apply Rune to any YELLOW Stone Giant in the Target Zone (as shown on main map)... then go to
Cordinates : 72 . 25
and kill Binder Murdis
the Stone Giant that you enslave will help you kill Binder Murdis and any other thing you want to kill ,,, remember there is a timer on the Rune of Command ,,, and after you kill Binder Murdis you can not recast Rune of Commad ,,, however you can recast the Rune of Command BEFORE you Kill Binder Murdis and use the Stone Giant to help you do some looting and/or Leveling (depending on your level at the time)
Binder Murdis is a level 70 with 8,982 Health Points ,,, and he is also a Caster

When I tried this one, the quest was bugged. Binder Murdis is throwing some kind of beam at a giant. When you put the cursor on this giant (who is in a bubble), you get the little window saying "Test rune of Command 0/1" telling you that you have found the right target. When you left click and try to apply the rune, it says that its not the right target. I was able to use the giant behind Binder Murdis, however. Be sure to get all the mobs around the big stone or they will mob you when you try to apply the rune.

72,23 70,30 and 68,30 are approximate areas where there's an non-aggressive giant to use the Rune of Command on. Have to clear the dwarfs first. He's in your control then for 5 minutes. I found it just got in the way of my sight when moving around, so I just waited until it fell over dead. You also have to keep an eye out for the elite giants they create. I found Binder Murdis at 72,24.

The rune bugged for me and I got a stone giant pet and the regular 70 elite at the same time. Was trying to get a runed giant that was walking by so got overwhelmed.

Descrizione

Can you feel the power emanating from the runes I've carved on this tablet? They're smaller versions of the runes that the Iron Dwarves are using. We'll use it to shut down their operation.

Take it to Giants' Run and use it on a stone giant that the dwarves have not altered.

The giant should obey you, but I've tailored the runes to restore it to its natural state after a time. The giant may prove a valuable ally in the battle against Binder Murdis, the leader of the Iron Dwarf forces at Giants' Run.
