Head to nifflevar and use the incense and simply run to the crowd of people in front of the king. Incredibly easy and simple and very cool.

You can save some time getting all the way over here to do this quest by waiting until you choose to complete Meet Lieutenant Icehammer... which will fly you close to Nifflevar automatically.

I stood around for about five minutes, nothing, just a bunch of angry ancient citizens yelling a lot. Seems this quest could be hit or miss, I'll try it again later.

Didn't work for me when I used the Incense when I was already in the center. Tried using it at the outer edge of town, then running in, and it completed just fine. Hope that helps!

Note: You have to stand somewhat close to the king. If you just stand in the crowd, he won't start speaking - move closer. If you then move back to the crowd, you may not get credit for the quest. So stand near the king until you get credit.

"Abberations"? I guess spelling was never the strong suit of King Niffle and his Nifflevarian minions.

Im surprised that no-one here has made a link to the human's presence in the eastern kingdoms.

In the this part of the quest the Vykrul leader states that the children "are unable to stand up at birth" - Similar to how human babies cannot do this.

And in the second part of the chain the couple states how the baby is far to small to be of Vykrul birth and how the wife says that she'll take him far, far away.

Thoralius said that the spirits are dated at 15,000 years old. The great sundering happened 10,000 Years ago.

(This is pre-sundering. Northrend would still be attached to Kalimdor . This would be a good explanation for the humans presence in Tirisfal Glades etc)

This makes it entirely possible that the mothers of the Vrykul placed their bizarre children (Humans) in the Eastern Kingdoms and nurtured them until they were self-sufficient and could take care of themselves.

Also, notice how in some of the lore books that Humans were tribes and not city states post-sundering.

There is also a addition to this from the dwarf quest that takes you down into the catacombs. He says that "Sorting these tablets out is going to take some time. All I can gather from a precursory study is that whatever used to be here was an ancestor of the humans." from the quest https://www.wowhead.com/cata/quest=11278.

WoW... I'm surprised no one mentioned that if you go out of the building and turn Right, that the Lich King is standing there not far from the room you are in, by the stairs. (Walk up to him for some fun, though you will die but suffer no dmg durability)

He says the following:
Shamanism has brought you here... It's scent permeates the air. *The Lich King laughs* I was once a shaman.
Val'kyr Soulclaimer says: Shall we prepare it for you, my lord?
The Lich King says: No, minion. This one is not ready.
Do you feel it, mortal? Death seeps through me, enveloping all that I touch. With just a snap of my finger your soul will languish in damnation for all eternity.
But... It is not yet your time to serve the Lich King. Yes, a greater destiny awaits you. Power... You must become more powerful before you are to serve me.
Now watch, Val'Kyr. Observe as I apply pressure. Can you see that it is not yet ripe? Watch as it pops and falls lifeless to the floor.

Rez-ing isnt a problem no walk back. Just jump over the wooden mini fence and walla, your alive again only in current time.

Being in grade 10, this last line of the king specially caught my attention because i just finished reading the book "The Chrysalids". In this book, all babies born with any kind of difference like an extra finger or if you are born blind, you are considered a mutant and must be killed or sent away to a place with other people of your kind, the purpose of this is to keep the human race "pure" and have no "abominations", just like the Vrykul are attempting to do here.

Fact A. We know the transformation from Earthen to Dwarf occured through the curse of flesh, a curse brought on by the old gods.

Fact B. Some quests and the existence of Iron Vrykul mentions the Vrykul as being created by the titans, similar to the giants, earthen and mechagnomes. Its not out of this world to assume the Vrykul are the Curse of Flesh victims of some currently unknown progenitor race (I'm calling them Stone Vrykul for simplicity).

The only Iron Vrykul that appear are servants of Loken or the Old Gods. More likely: Humans are decendants of the Vrykul, and the iron vrykul are either Loken/Yogg's own creation to create an army, or possibly the Titan's 'response' to the curse of flesh... a race immune to it.

This questline is probably one of the more interesting in the game, if only because you figure out where humans descended from.

This is easily the most awesome quest line in Howling Fjord.. even if its sadly only three steps. Why this didn't continue further or why it wasn't picked up in quests elsewhere i will never know. They even reference the next step but never took it.. It would have been interesting to see the early humans being lead by the Vrykul renegades..

Also why was this completely ignored when Archeology was introduced? We could have gotten so many Vrykul objects that would explain/elaborate on the transition or even early-human from the tribal periods pre-Arathor. Seems sad we get toss away items like the Bearded Axe instead..

I'm also curious what it means that Humans were created from the curse effecting the Vrykul, presumably the 'curse of flesh' caused by Yogg-Saron. So basically humans owe their existence to an Old God, not the Titans..

He was at 69, 54 for me. It doesn't seem like much, but it was down a steep hill and took me a bit to find. More importantly, remember to activate the device you were given. You don't see anything until then.

I travelled to Nifflevar (70, 55) and moved in behind King Ymiron, which triggered him to begin speaking to the crowd. Although all the mobs are kos, I came quite close to some of them and none attacked.

All that we know of the vrykul indicates that they only recently appeared in Northrend. Why, then, are we seeing vrykul in visions that date back 15,000 years? Surely if the vrykul had previously existed in Northrend we would have known.

You must press on to Nifflevar. To get there you must go northeast, through Wyrmskull Village, and take the path leading up through the dam. Nifflevar is on the bluffs of the fjord.

Use the incense burner once you arrive at Nifflevar and search the area for clues.
