In case anyone is wondering what Highlord Bolvar Fordragon is refering to with the "Do not let Lady Prestor's protestations distract you", here's the conversation that takes place first:

Highlord Bolvar Fordragon says: Lady Jaina would not send a messenger with such haste if she did not believe her information reliable.
Highlord Bolvar Fordragon says: With their newfound patronage and apparent role in the king's disappearance, I see no choice but to plan a renewed offensive against the Defias.
Highlord Bolvar Fordragon says: Convey my thanks to Lady Jaina and let her know that we will pursue the Defias and their backers until our liege is safely returned!
Lady Katrana Prestor says: Don't be such a fool, Bolvar!

Uh guys, they're alreayd linked. You see since Lady Katrana is really Onyxia of the black flight...This just explains how Dr. Weavil ended up on the island. Dr. Weavil was the cargo, ie hte Monical. And the higher up in stormwind is Lady Katrana, ie Onyxia, ie Black Dragonflight mage.

From a story point of view there's a very good chnce that the continuation of this quest chain may be found in the WoW comic book. In fact reading through the missing diplomat quests and then this line have given me some new threads to think about in the comic.

This is a level 37 quest. It turned grey for me at level 46 and I was still able to use the teleport. I just leveled to 47 and the option is still there for me to use the teleport.

So it's not when the quest turns grey. I'll try and remember to check back at level 48 and see if it still works.

Edit: Level 48, teleport still works even though the quest is grey.
Edit: Level 49, teleport still works.
Edit: Don't remember if I checked at level 50. At level 51 I can not use the port anymore.

This still seems to be available for me, or my shaman at least. Went to turn in the quest "Reborn from the Ashes" and noticed that this was one of two low level quests available from Varian ("The First and the Last" was the other). Kinda funny, since Jaina was right there next to him (but refused to let me turn in the quest to her. Guess she figured my shammy needs the exercise).

But yeah, I guess it was just a matter of the pre-reqs being removed from the game, rather than every part of the quest line.

I think Blizzard might save that to Wotlk like the event to open the dark portal instead of opening a Portal we Save the King Of Stormwind so High lord bolvar can leave his post in Stormwind and Lead the Alliance forces in Northerend

I'm not sure what people are talking about. The free teleport still works for me, on two different toons. And I have yet to see the guy say his magic is too drained and can't teleport.

I went on my warlock to do this part of the quest and also got the message of the mage being too tired and can no longer port me.

I guess it is a random thing as someone recently said they had no problem with it?

I have never tried it (either on this char or my alt) before so it's not one of those 'used it too many times' things.

Think is right with the level required !
Im lvl 37 Priest right now and i just Teleported free from The mage Quater in SW to Theramore isle.
Quest are Yellow for me right now, so i w8 to turn in.

I am on a lvling guide and is lvl 40 hunt right now and it says i shall save the quest and i understand that but first where do i get the quest and second i don�t know if ive done it. Is there any ADDon so i can see the quests ive done?

Just an FYI - you need to have completed the entire Missing Diplomat chain to get this quest.

If you have not seen the cinimatic for achievment Veteran of the Wrathgate THEN DO NOT READ THIS POST...

This quest must be gone now...
Highlord Bolvar lead the alliance forces to northrend and if you complete the quest Return to Angrathar (achievment: Veteran of the Wrathgate) then you will watch a cinimatic in which Highlord Bolvar is killed by Forsaken forces...

If you keep this quest, you can talk to a mage in the mage district of Stormwind by the tower and he'll teleport you to Theramore for FREE. No having to ride a griffon to get there. Enjoy!

As of today, but probably starting at 2.4, (presumably) higher level toons can't use this path any more.

I used it many many times levelling and even to get to CoT quickly but just today I was told that I was a "worldly traveller" who must know of another way to get to Theramore; I suspect that the port only works once, but it may work more than once if you're low-levelled (someone else will have to test that).

So, feel free to turn it in finally *sob*.

The mage teleport in Stormwind appears to be disabled.

He says the following text when you talk to him:
"Forgive me, but I am spent and cannot use my magic to send you back (to, sic) Theramore. You have the look of a worldly adventurer about you; surely you know of another way to reach Theramore in time."

I suspect this may be because I'm level 60 and Blizzard wanted to address the "Free Portal to Theramore" exploit involving this quest.

Go to the Mage Quarter at the western end of the city and speak with Archmage Malin at the foot of the tower there. He will speed your return to Theramore.
