Probably worth picking this up before you do the quests at the Explorer's League outpost. There's a quest there to get a Pristine Shoveltusk Hide. If you're going to be doing both of them, why not save yourself a little time in the long run.

Dont think this is available after you hit revered with Valiance Expedition. I can't get it anymore.

You do NOT get Recipe: Shoveltusk Soup as a reward from this quest.

I thought this was bugged for sure, and submitted a GM ticket. Below is a copy of the email I received from a Blizzard GM.

Issue Reported: Chef Kettleblack in Westguard Inn does not reward the item:

Recipe: Shoveltusk Soup

As she is supposed to for Quest "Shoveltusk Soup Again?"
Completed the quest, and only received the stack of Soup.

Any chance I can get clarification on this?

patch 3.0.8 on PTR

Shoveltusk Meat obtained during the quest, "Shoveltusk Soup Again?" is now correctly flagged as a quest item with no sell price.

Worth noting that any of the shoveltusks drop the meat, not just the stags (don't ask how long it took to work that out)

rather too lazy to really read everything right now but anyway the meat drops even if you don't have the quest and even if you're horde so don't keep it thinking it would be useful for something besides pet food

I found these all around 35, 40 just outside the gate to the east like the quest says.

There are aggro ones and herds of non-aggros wandering around.

I did this quest: One size does not fit all

Do you have to eat it for it to count? I finished the quest and it hasn't counted yet.

The drop rate seems to be somewhere slightly under 50%. Not a bad gathering quest IMO.

Think it might be a patch glitch.. but if your '?' shows up by the keep. Shes not there, go to the kitchen in the inn.

A warning: while the packs seem pretty weak and easy to AoE, they aren't necessarily. I was questing on my boomkin and decided to try to AoE the packs with hurricane/typhoon/starfall. It would have worked fine if not for the fact that they disorient you, and when fighting a pack, you could spend nearly 10 seconds disorient-locked. And soon dead, since you can't do anything.

Pick them from the herd one at a time.

With all of the strange disappearances of our livestock, we better resupply in a hurry, or the beasties around these parts will be the least of our worries!

Seeing as I'm in charge of feeding this lot, I'm going to need you to head east and get me some meat. More to the point, I'm looking to cook us up some tender shoveltusk meat.

Just beware the stags... they're mean!
