The zeppelin takes a very long trip around the bay where you need to drop bombs on the pirates and cannons, relatively easy, especially if you group with the people on the boat with you. No reason not to really. The zeppelin stays docked for 2 minutes in between trips and you can tell how long is left based on the goblin yelling to the city.

You do get experience (20,100) for completing this quest, every day that you do it. I've done it twice so far, and gotten the full exp amount both times.

Breaking the cannons seems to be the sticking point, but i found out something important:

If you aim your bomb to hit DIRECTLY on the cannon, it will be destroyed in one shot.

Aiming between the cannons to try and hit multiples does far far less damage and is a waste of time as you will more than likely not complete the objective on one pass.

This quest is a waste of time unless you are in a group. Even if you're in a group, there's a chance it will take several trips around the bay to get your kills.

This quest sucks for a daily :(

Ship takes way too long and it's most unlikely that you get it in one go unless others are with you partied together.

Even without not doing it in one go, it simply takes too long sitting and waiting as the zepp wanders around.

Some comments are correct : I did it once, and don't plan on doing it anytime soon again. It simply takes too long to complete, especially since the zeppelin moves so slowly.

Not to mention when some people don't want to group, in that case it's close to impossible to complete in a single run.

It's not worth spending that much time on this quest, there are more profitable ways to :

- gain XP
- gain gold
- gain reputation

What about flying mount BTW ? Can people use it to do that daily ? In that case it might be interesting.

Even though the bombs only work from the Zep, you can land on the boats and kill the pirates and cannons yourself and still get quest credit. I did this when I completed a trip 3 pirates and 1 cannon short of completion. Just fly down, aoe the boat and presto...quest complete.

Hint: Stand at the very front of the Zeppelin and face backwards. You'll be able to drop your bombs both forward and backwards (through the Zeppelin). Whereas if you're facing forward, you can't throw them backwards through the Zeppelin, for whatever reason. This is the best way to solo this daily. Enjoy.

Also, I have yet to see someone else using this method.

The zeppelin passes to the right of the first two boats, directly over the third, then to the left of the final two. That means:

Stand on the left side of the zeppelin for the first two boats (left side as you're facing the front...or the side opposite the one you board the zep)
Stand of the front of the airship for the next boat
Stand on the right side of the zep for the final two boats

If you do that, you'll have an almost completely unhindered shot at all 5 boats...and a decent chance to complete the quest in one pass (barring other riders, that is).

Edit: Today (12/1), I completed the quest in one run with no problem. The last pirate was a close call, but it's possible to do this in one pass.

This quest gives 250 Valiance Expedition rep, but if you are exalted with them, you will still receive 125 Alliance Vanguard rep.

You can use a flying mount both to get to the zeppelin if you're late getting there, and also to leave if you finish early. It's a long ride otherwise, though.

You have to be on the Zeppelin to use the item. BUT! You can land on the boats if you are lvl 77 or above and kill them that way. I did it with my Hunter with a Gorilla pet.

Now I've noticed that whenever I get this quest somehow it flags me for PVP. I couldn't figure it out for the longest time then a friend suggested that maybe because I'm hated by the Steamwheedle Cartel goblins of Azeroth (I have my Bloodsail Admiral title and hat and have not yet repaired my rep) that this might be the case. The goblin appears as Red/Hostile to me and one of his guards makes an attack shout alert when I walk past him, but does not actually attack me. Can anyone else confirm this please?

Simplest way to finish this quest: Jump onto the boats. I got *!@#ed off at the bombing, so I just jumped onto one of the boats and started killing everybody. Was much quicker and more efficient.

Remember - HAVE A FLYING MOUNT!

You can stand all times at the front of the zeppelin.
If you stand at left or right side, the area where you want throw bombs can also stuck on the zeppelin. The zeppelin is "in the way".

The view in the front is much better.
You can do it barely in 1 round, but mostly in 2 rounds.

I find it much easier at higher levels to just fly out to the nearest boat and beat on the pirates and cannons manually. They respawn fast, and are easy to kill. When you're done, just jump over the side, swim to an iceberg, and fly back.

Not sure what people's problems are. It is possible, nay, easy to do this within the 5 boats. I was at 9/10 and 24/25 before I got to the fourth boat. Just spam, low cooldown.

Personal best is getting it all within three boats. First time I did it I only had 2 pirates left after the third boat and thought I had to go another round...was quite surpriced there were more boats left.

An important thing to remember, (if you've ever fallen off the zepplin before.. like me... LOL!), is to not have "click to move" enabled. I was always targeting, but would sometimes just randomly jump off which was embarrasing and inconvenient. This time I stayed rooted to the front of the zepplin and completed the quest with NO problem... hope this helps someone...

There must be a lot of click/retarget types. The only time I ever had trouble getting this in one round is when I clicked the icon and targeted. My second time at this quest, I replaced a spot on my toolbar so I could press a keyboard key and mouse click much quicker where I was already targeted.

A little cool tip for Blood specced Death Knights - Dancing Rune Weapon will mimic the bombs. It's not really needed at any rate but if you're in a hurry, it can help to wipe the third boat where you fly directly over-head and don't have as much time to throw...

I must note that throwing bombs does not break the /dance animations. Throwing bombs and pirates while dancing is simply win. :)

I gotta say i am starting to not disagree with myself when i spent my entire 1kg for CWF... (toon just turned 77, I know all ya 80's are prob chuckling @ me knowing my worst is yet to come w/ epic.... >.< )

One of the reasions is that "OMFG, this zepplin is slow as hell!"
So lately i have been picking up the daily, and not even waiting for the zep to dock... ill mount up and go to the first boat and then stamd on the nose of the ship, and light my bombs... @ the nose they can not aggro to me and it is much faster b/c of the instant AoE of the bomb's then just landing and engaging in combat... not really nessessary imo when you can just do it that way...

You may need to mount up again and go to a second boat, if you killed all the cannons and pirate's and dont forget the 2 cannons @ the front of the boat as well that can count for your 10..

The absolute easiest way to do this quest is to go out to where you'd normally board and fly off the dock to the closest ship. It'll be firing so you know it's a good one. Get close to the ship, get off your gryphon close to the water and swim toward the ship. Change your camera angle so you're getting almost an overhead view and take them out. After you complete, swim north to land, switch to your gryphon and fly to the quest giver to turn it in. Piece of cake. If you don't have Northrend Flying yet (1000g) you can ride the zeppellin to the closest ship, jump off when you get close to the ship (landing in water takes no HP away), finish the quest off as above and hearth back.

If You are fast enough You can complete quest in one trip. For me it was easier to do standing on the small balcony at the aft.

Pick up the quest, ignore the airship and just use your flying mount to fly to the nearest ship.

Land on one of the spars of the main Mast and carefully dismount so you're stood on the spar.

Bomb the hell out of everything.

Get back onto your flying mount and head back to the questgiver. You can do all of that while the airship is still waiting to leave.

I can't use my flying mount here, perhaps you need to be above level 72 for that. But I get on the zep and then jump off by the first two pirate ships. You can bomb from sitting in the water. The pirates respawn in about 10 seconds. Then I just swim back to shore at Whisper Gulch.

If you don't want to wait on the zeppelin, if you have cold weather flying you can fly to an iceberg near a ship, and just stand on the iceberg and use the bombs to kill the pirates and destroy the cannons. If your lower level just drop off the zeppelin, or just swim to a ship, you can destroy the cannons while swimming, but to kill the pirates you need to get a little higher so the targeting reticule will target pirates, it might be a bug, or maybe it's just working for me. It says the bombs only work on the zeppelins, but I can use them in the water and on icebergs.

If you have a flying mount, land on the front of the ship and you can hit everything from there.

If you want to do this quest a different way or don't have your flying mount yet, you can use water walking. Just jump off the zep in the middle of the bay and land in the water. Then use a water walking ability, like path of frost and mount up and run to the boats. You can easily hit the cannons and pirates in one shot. The bombs apparently still work off the zeppelin.

Complete this Daily in just five minutes every day! I do this every day!

1. After picking up quest head out to a pirate boat...you cab use the Zepplin, flying mount, or just swim!

2. Standing/swimming close to the boat, place your camera so that it looks directly down on you, and zoom all the way out.

3. Walk right up next to the boat...this should allow you to target the deck of the boat where pirates and cannons will be firing. If your camera will not zoom out far enough use this command to increase maximum zoom distance:

4. Fire away! They respawn quickly enough...no need to go to more than one boat!

This only works if you can fly.
Get quest, simply fly to rigging of first ship with pve on.
Use the bomb till quested completed, and fly back.
No messing waiting for lift, and done in 2 minutes flat.

What a terrible quest. The zeplin move very slow, over half the time there are no targets, and you even pass directly over one ship so you can't even get camera angle to aim.

Came though 1 cannon short of completion. Now how long do I have to wait around for the zeplin to leave to I can get 1 more stupid cannon!

This daily is easy, just fly out to the ships and kill everything. I'm a lvl 85 pala and this quest takes 5 mins easy :D

When I was playing on my tauren dk I saw the zepplin fly overhead. Curious, I flew up onto the deck and didn't see anyone there. I was creeped out at the thought of the zepplin flying with no one flying it. Only just now when I finally got my night elf druid to the Howling Fjord did I learn about this daily and why I didn't see anyone aboard the zepplin.

This daily gave me 90 Rep for Explorer's League and helped me get my Exalted status. I was already Exalted with Valiance Expedition so maybe that's why only 90...

Oh and stand on either the bow of the ship or the little balcony at the back end (you have to either fly to it or go below decks to get to it) and it makes targeting very easy.

Rev. 4.3.4:
There is no such thing, as landing in the rigging,using your flying mount, or anything else doing this quest!

You will have to take the sloooooow slooooooooow moving Zep, over and over again. The aiming tool doesn´t work. Even if it is green, you will get the message: "You are to far away".

My recommendation is, abandon this quest! It is so annoying, that you will really start wondering, why you are spending money and time on this game...

Cords are correct.

I do recommend standing at the very front of the zeppelin though. You can bomb all the ships and not have to worry about moving around or accidentally falling off like I did on my first run.

If you have your cold weather flying, you can fly directly to the ships and attack in person. You cannot use the bombs but I killed a few pirates and a cannon with my own weapons, and got credit.
Not sure if this is any easier and the pirates spawn quickly

If there are several people on the boat ride you all get credit if you are grouped together in a party.

Break the Blockade

Take Petrov's Cluster Bombs and drop them on enough pirates to kill or destroy 25 Blockade Pirates and 10 Blockade Cannons. Once you've accomplished that, return to Bombardier Petrov at Westguard Keep.

All of our ships are sunk! We need your help to break the pirate blockade below in the Shattered Straits!

Take these cluster bombs and hitch a ride on the zeppelin that Harrowmeiser has 'loaned' to us. He'll fly you over the decks of those pirate scoundrels, and you make sure to give it to them good!

If you can't bomb them to smithereens, I'm afraid we'll never be able to break the blockade.
