This quest is not available until players finish all of the Shady Rest Inn quests. You then receive the quest, "A Grim Connection."

WHEN GOING TO TOTEM CAMP THE ARMS ARE ON THE LEFT SIDE AGAINST THE WALLS, THEY SPARKLE SO U WILL SEE THEM, IF UR HAVING A HARD TIME GETTING TO ALL OF THEM U COULD EASILY CAMP OUT AT THE FIRST ONE THEY HAVE FAST RESPAWN. LOCATION CONFIRMED.

As you approach the village keep to the right, at the totem located 44 16 is one mob if you kill that and then stay on the right of the path there are no mobs till you reach the tents on that side of the vilage, you can sit there and pull (including elders) and then pick up the armaments which look like weapons racks.
Mobs do patrol the path but you can pick them off as easily, the racks respawn rate is fater that the mobs rate

Confirming the Suspicion

Arms of the grimtotems

Unleash the raptors (as 2nd part of the "Raptor Captor" quest

Prisoners of the Grimtotems

It's actually really easy if you do it the right way:

I started out just collecting the first 3 armaments, sneaking and punching my way to them, no big deal. While doing this, i made sure to loot every corpse, so that i would get as many keys to release the prisoners as possible. This is done by killing the Breakers (gave me the best drop ratio). As i moved further into the village, i made sure to pull only 1 mob at a time, to not draw too much attention. I went for the Elders and Breakers only, not those Shape-Shifters (when having killed these, 2 wolves will show, but only with very limited HP, about 50 maybe). The Elders drop the "Battle Note"s, which you will need to do the Confirming the Suspicion quest. 4 of these are required, and you can then create the Battle Plan needed.

Release the prisoners as you move further into the village, with the windmill as your goal.
The prisoners in the cages respawn fairly quickly, so you dont have to run to all the cages in the village to release the prisoners, just do the same ones a couple of times until you have released 5.

Now having collected the Armaments (which also respawns quickly), the Battle Plan
and having released the prisoners, all that is left is the raptors.

Spend a little while checking out the Breakers' routes, as this is important for you not to be noticed, planting the raptorbait. Move up on the south/souteastern side of the windmill, so it lines up in the middle of the two Elders at it. Move forwad one step at a time, until you can plant the bait. Do it carefully, as you might pull the two elders doing so.

When you are near enough, plant the bait, the raptors will come running, attacking the Grimtotems, and giving you some sort of cover going out.

Done easily with a 37 Retri pally

Total: 15,200 XP - Not too bad, I must say.

As all the comments here seem to be from the original TBC, and not "classic": This quest, and its related quest (Confirming the Suspicion) seems to be completely un-doable. There are guards defending every entry point of the village that are way higher in level than one may usually be picking up this quest. In addition, everyone inside the camp seems level 40-48. But again, that's even if you could get past the many guards, which doesn't seem likely (so far above my current level 44, that they have that skull in place of their level number).

Guess we're abandoning and moving on.

If the equipment you found at the ruins of the inn belonged to a Grimtotem attack party, there's likely to be more just like it within their camp to the northwest.

We haven't been able to gather much information about Blackhoof Village, but judging from the size of the raiding parties, there's a substantial force based there.

Do whatever you have to to capture some of their equipment so that we can compare it with your findings from the inn.
