If you get the chance, try to find Lady Vespia as she seems to drop the ring as well. I did this a a lvl 21 Rogue with no trouble at all. Lady V. was on her tod on the main shore by the island at 9, 16. As she was a lvl 22 it was a breeze.

Just soloed as a 21 hunter with a health pot. Freeze trap one, get pet to grab the aggro from other two, and fire away at Ruuzel. When the Freeze trapped one gets out, just immolation trap him and keep killing Ruuzel- When she dies, it's a picnic (Especially with Gift of the Naruu)

This is my first time playing WoW. I'm a 22 shaman.
And I had loads of problems doing this quest. I died several times - like 8.

Then I read some of your replies and mixed them a bit.
What I did =
1) Clear NE part of isle
2) Kill the fighter add
- I used Gift of Naruu, then the reduce dmg totem, then I used lightning bolt, then Earth shock, then I began to fight him and used Earth shock whenever I could, then I healed myself once and casted the slow totem, then ran.
3) Kill the mage add
- I used the reduce dmg totem and casted lightning bolt and used lesser healing once or twice, then ran..
4) Kill ruuzel
- That should be very easy, remember to use lesser healing wawe - it's really cool

Ruuzel is insanely easy to kill as a rogue. Good use of sap and distract can split the group, so you only have to deal with one at a time. Basically, sap one, let the other two path away. Kill the sapped one. Repeat on the other add. Then, finish off with Ruuzel.

Lady Vespia does not always drop the ring, but she's still worth killing if you find her ofcourse, since she'll drop a green.

I did this as a level 23 rogue and I was shocked at how simple it was. This is my first rogue and I haven't really mastered her abilities yet so I was a bit nervous to take on three baddies at once. I was prepared to take a potion, an energy tea, sprint, and vanish, but it ended up being much less complicated: I stealthed and used distract hoping to keep all of them where i wanted them, but luckily only Ruuzel stopped and the other two kept going, so I was able to kill her with no interruptions whatsoever. It might be worth it to note I probably got lucky distracting only Ruuzel, and I think Vansivandr's method would work just as well. Good luck to you! :)

soloed as a lvl 21 shadow specced priest, put on your shield and just nuke ruuzel, she dies fast enough, loot and run north to the sea, the adds stop after a few steps in the water...

21 druid:

- Clear one part of the beach so that you have unobstructed access to the sea.
- HoT up, root Ruuzel and pull the fighter. I used starfire.
- Kill the fighter. It's a good idea to use moonfire and rip, so you can run off before his health drops all the way to zero
- Run to the water and escape in aquatic form. Heal back up and return to the island.
- Root Ruuzel again and pull the caster away from her (she'll just stand right next to her, casting, so run away a bit). Kill the caster.
- If necessary, escape to the sea again.
- Kill Ruuzel.

This was a piece of cake as a 23 resto Shaman. I cleared a portion of the beach and placed my Strength of Earth and Healing Stream totems. When Ruuzel came by with her friends I just focused on killing her first. 2 Lightning Bolt, Flame Shock and a Searing Totem brought her down quick. I used a couple of healing spells right before going after the melee mob. The caster seemed to run out of mana pretty quick, she was just standing there by the time I got around to her.

Got her with a Priest ... needed to kamakazi it though.

Kill the melee add near the shore ... psychic scream and run like hell.

Healup, return, and do the same to the target.

Got killed a couple of time doing it ... but persistence pays.

Really not very hard. Simply burning down Ruuzel will probably allow you to win.

It was especially easy as an elemental shaman - I cleared a section of the island and waited for the group to pat around. I laid down a Searing Totem, an Earthbind totem, and a Healing Stream totem. I cast a couple of quick lightning bolts at ruuzel, followed by a frost shock. Kiting these few around my totems while frost shocking and lightning bolting ruuzel proved exceptionally easy.

A few lesser healing wave casts and i was back to full health and able to kill the other two.

Level 22 Feral Druid.

I've tried about 9 times to beat Ruuzel, getting rid of all the mobs and then attacking and I still can't do it, whether I'm in cat or bear form or not.

I should note that I got the ring off of lady Vespia who was walking along the shore, immediately adjacent to the island.

Not only did she drop the ring, she dropped a green mail belt and about 65 copper and of course the usual clam (no pearl). Even better is not having to fight those annoying, linked naga on the island. Hard to solo that one but if you're careful, you can follow Ruuzel until she's alone. But Vespia, even if she's an elite, is not tough and not surrounded by casters.

Oh and did I mention 2550 XP at level 23? Not bad.

If they have a silver dragon around their potrait, they are named mobs. not elite. Elites have gold dragons. thats why she is so easy.. NOT ELITE...

Priest solo'd Ruuzel and his two buddies. If you get rid of the other naga on the island, then when his gang comes along, fear them, you should be able to kill Ruuzel easily epecially with your shield. Heal yourself and fight the other ones. (Or run away like I did and collect the ring when they leave.) btw..where is Vespia?

As a 22 hunter I soloed the quest. I cleaned out a area of naga when Ruuzel and his two buddies came along I put my pet on Ruuzel and stood back and tagged him till he was dead. Then I ran to the other shore line while his buddies chased me. Soon I was out of their range and the ran back. I waited till they got away form the body...Ran back and looted it. Took me all of five minuted to complete the quest..Never even died once neither did my pet.

For hunters, setting a freezing trap works as well. I chose the northeast side of the island and cleared out surrounding naga from the shore. I had my bear out, and he held aggro really well so I was able to stay clear and shoot. Fighting two as opposed to three is a lot easier, and it didn't take too long to kill all three although I did almost die due to massive lag, my server is horrible lately.

I had tried this quest a few times in low 20's with my cat, and ending up dying every time. When I did it this time I was 25 and lvled to 26 during the fighting. Rather easy, and still yellow xp level for the quest.

Same thing as another user just hapened to me. I used to go to the island and get the ring from there but it was a pain in the butt at low level but this time I found that MOB Lady Vespia before you reach the island on the shore and she dropped the ring as well as a pair of boots . Easier.

Line up a pyroblast on the sea witch as she patrols past you such that it is max range when your cast completes. Immediately follow with a fireball. Sheep Ruuzel after the fireball. Finish up the sea witch with a fireball and a fireblast.

Re-sheep Ruuzel, frost nova to hold the myrmidon in place and kill him with fireballs/blasts. Re sheep Ruuzel after the myrmidon dies, bandage, evocate, mana shield and kill him.

Did this with a Lv 22 Mage while I happened to be in the area. After taking out Ruuzel I headed SE and ran across Vespia. I took out both nearby sea creatyres (whatever they were called) first and Lady Vespia had no chance. Easy quest, the only hard part were a couple of horde PvP hunters that were camping there taking out the quest giver whenever he respawned.

Ruuzel as you will see is protected by 2 body guards, dont bother going on the island - we cleared the area ready to take her , then decided we wouldnt be able to take all 3 and were returning to zoram strand to find some other quests, when we came across lady vespia, level 22 took her - and yes she drops the ring -- shes not on the island, but on hte shore before it.

Dont make more work for your self - just kill her for the drop.

As a 21 shadow priest Ruuzel was too difficult to kill all 3 at once so I had to kill one add, run away, kill another add and run away, and then kill Ruuzel. I should have looked for Lady Vespia first because I found her on the way back. Don't let your health get too low on Vespia because she does a frostbolt volley that does a lot of damage. Good luck. =)

I never saw Lady Vespia but killing Ruuzel wasn't that hard. You can find her roaming around the island. I am a lvl 20 hunter and had a lvl 21 priest with me. If your group just consentrates on Ruuzel then you can always come back to loot.

I think this quest changed with patch 2.1

After one very long game where I tried to kill mobs on Ruuzel's island, I tried looking for Lady Vespia instead. I waited for 40 mins - nothing. Went away, did another quest and came back - nothing.

A few days later, after the 2.10 patch, I went back and found Lady Vespia wandering the shore east of the island. I killed har and looted but no key!

I then had to go onto the island, concentrate solely on Ruuzel, kill her, get killed myself, race back to the island, resurrect and then loot Ruuzel's dead bod.

All this as a level 23 Paladin with all the skills. Then again, I may just be a crap Paladin :)

well i killed vespa and got some great boots but no key i descieded to go kill the other one at 6 13 and got pwned lol but it only took me two tryes to get it..as said above try to clear the area out and pull the body gaurds first

Level 24 Warriors should do the following.

Gather rage on mobs around her. Clear a fairly big area. Charge in, Intimidating Shout, Rend, Demo Shout, and HS spam 'till she's dead. You'll probably aggro like, two more adds >_> After she dies, immediately loot, switch to defensive stance and cheese it.

23 Paladin. Ruuzel has 2 adds. One is a Caster type, the other is a Melee type. She is a Warrior herself. She uses Heroic Strike. Of the three the caster does the most damage. It has almost no hitpoints, so if you concentrate on it first, you can take it out and cut the damage coming in by half.

21 priest soloed
Targeted the caster 1st and feared ruuzel and the other because they are melee attackers. Killed caster and ran away and waited for the Ruuzel and ad to come and then feared add and took down Ruuzel. If you have enough mana or health you can even take down the other ad.
For spells use mind blast, mind fray SwP, and PwS

Easy Quest. Solod it as a 22 Roque.

I first sapped the caster , then finished Ruuzel, got the warrior then killed the caster. Used 1 pot to survive.

Just soloed this as a level 20 Rogue. Just stealth up behinf Ruuzel and sap her. Wait for the guards to walk away and then kill Ruuzel. Her guards will not get alerted. Just make sure you clear out some of the island beacuse Ruuzel will run.

21 Druid. I couldn't handle all three at once so I cleared an area of mobs then waited for Ruuzel and her friends to come by. I picked out the weekest one, hit with starfire and dotted, switched to cat form and finished the mob off. I then left cat form, potted, bear formed and ran. After I exited combat, I came back fully healed and waited for the now smaller group to come by. I hit the second follower with starfire, etc, hit my two regens, bear formed, and finished off the second one. I was able to finish the second off, pop out of bear form long enough to put my regens up and pop back to bear form to finish of Ruuzel. Took two regen pops to take her.

Best way to do as a Feral Druid is, root ruuzel, take down his body guard, heal quick, turn back to cat form, take down ruuzel. Easy... might take more than 1 try... good luck!

if you're any class that has stun ability (but can only stun one target) use it on ruuzel. he fights warrior style so watch out for his melee strikes.

DRUIDS:
lower lvl druids make terrible grinders.. worse tanks.. also not good with enemies that have healing powers, druids do however, have some awesome abilities.. so use those to your advantage.

to make this quest simple if you are going to solo as a druid:

1. in cat form, stalk past mobs (you get this ability from a trainer at lvl 22) this is the equivilant of rogue's stealth mode.

2. set hotkeys for: heal (you'll be needing that for sure)
cure poisons (if those 3 headed things come after you)
and the disease one you get at lvl 24...i cant remember which one you get hit by from the 3-head creature..

3. thorn ruuzel. transform to cat quick.

4. if you have tiger's fury (aquired lvl 24) USE IT! helps you cause more damage and doesnt break stealth/stalk mode.

5. by the time ruuzel is out of those thorns, hopefuly you will have managed to kill at least one of the two attackers.

6. break cat to regular form, heal fast, switch to bear.

ENRAGE & SWIPE will become your best friend. (using swipe you can hit up to three targets...perfect for this scenario..) swipe doesnt do much damage by itsself but paired with demoralizing roar, (and if your swipe is at least rank 2) you do about the same amount of damage as you would have done having used a more powerful strike in the first place for each enemy individually, however, using the enrage+roar+swipe combo will allow you to save some health and shorten the precious time it takes you to lower the health of enemies.

timing is crucial to finishing these guys off before they kill you. so make sure once you're in there you fight to the death, hopefully you wont actually die.. but i guarentee you'll come close a couple of times. just be sure you use combos as efficiently as possible.

ok..so not "simple" per se.. but slightly less intimidating.

I finished this quest as a lvl 25 hunter....use your pet to attack ruuzel head on, the other two will attack ur pet as well...Shoot continuous arrows until she dies....then simply kill the other 2. After that just go to her body and pick up the ring. Easiest quest ever by far.

With my lvl 22 warlock i got my voidwalker out and i cleared a little bit and i sent my voidwalker to kill the witch docter while i killed Ruuzel when she ran i sacrificed my voidwalker and got bubbled and used my wand at ruuzel i picked up my ring and ran then swimmed.

...as a 21 Warlock.

1. Set up your soulstone resurrection and Demon Armor. Make sure you have an extra Healthstone and some extra soul shards too.
2. While Ruuzel & co are not around, clear half the island (so you can safely fear later).
3. When Ruuzel & entourage come to the "cleared" side of the island, send your Voidwalker to attack Ruuzel's weak green priestess defender, and fear Ruuzel herself.
4. Keep putting DoTs on the priestess (curse of agony, corruption, immolate, etc.) and wanding her til she dies. Drink a health potion and use your Healthstone if you need to.
5. The priestess will die, but you and/or your void will be taking lots of damage from the blue myrmidon defender. At this point your Void will be about to die too, so just Sacrifice him and run/swim away to someplace safe so you're out of combat. (If you die too, use your soulstone resurrection.)
6. Now Ruuzel has only one escort. Heal up, summon your Void, and go back to the cleared side of the island.
7. This time send your Void to attack Ruuzel directly. Attack by keeping your Void and DoTs on Ruuzel, and keep fearing her blue myrmidon escort to keep him out of the fight.
8. Ruuzel will die, and you and your Void will probably have enough health to finish off the blue escort, too.
9. Loot Ruuzel and turn in. Done!

21 Feral druid, with herbore skill, buffed up and made sure health was full, went in in bear form killed priestess while stunning myrmidon when i could, got to baout 2/3 health and used lifeblood (nice 300hp heal over 5 secs) kept stunning myrmidon while i attacked Ruuzel. got to about 1/2 health again and shifted to human and stuck on rejuvination and regrowth and then spammed moonfire til Ruuzel was dead, grabbed the ring, cat formed and ran out of there (30% speed boost) :)

just sat on the rocky bit in the middle til she came

sry but you guyz are wrong .. im lvl 21 and easied ruuzel with ease . freeze priest nuke ruuzel then nuke myrm , and after priestess . a pet is always nice to have. :)

btw lady vespia i done with my alt and shes lvl 21 rare . drops nothing out of the ordinary greens , but still a green is a green :)

In case someone dont know this. Right before the Island where Ruuzel resides you can sometime find a mob called Lady vespia (pink color) (rare mob). I died first once at the Island with my hunter, but killed this mob on way back to land as I wanted to wait and lvl, and belive it or not, Ring of Zoram dropped. :). This may help people not able to solo ruuzel as its assited by 2 other mobs, unless u got a team.

Did this solo with my 24 priest. Attack the priestess from distance and when Ruuzel and the myrmidon get on you hit fear finish priestess and run. Come back and kill myrmidon and ruuzel.

I went back to Talen and got this quest at level 27 as a druid, just for completenness' sake. Rooted the myrmidon (warrior mob) with her and then killed Ruuzel and ran off from the priestess. I was very surprised to get 2500 experience for completing the quest at such a high level.

could do single pulls on mobs with sap, meaning i could stop part of her train and kill bit by bit, witch first then mymeridon, then ruuzel herself. level 20 rogue

For squishy cloth-wearers, the key is to take out the Myrmidon. Run away (or die, like I did, trying to solo all 3). Come back, and Ruuzel goes down easy, and the Priestess is cake. Nice robe for the level. I was a 26 Mage.

I completed this as a level 23 casting druid. Well, I read the posts and tried the kamikaze method once or twice and got wasted by Ruuzel and her two hench-nagas, got bored with the trip from the (very remote) cemetery and each time i came back to try again, combed the shore for Lady Vespia. I had taken Lady Vespia a few times before with my alts (to farm green items) but she had never dropped the ring because I did not have the Ruuzel Quest on my list at the time.

I then switched to trying to take out the Myrmidon escort and running. Nice idea if you don't die in the process but I did! Then just as I had decided to only look for the suddenly elusive lady Vespia, this other level 23 Druid asks me if I am on a Q! When I mentioned "Ruuzel" he said "lets go" and we went back to the island of embarrassment. :)

We took all three of them this time, and I am thankful for this lucky meeting with my fellow druid. If you can't solo this quest....just remember it is just as satisfying, after you have been wiped a few times, to go back with a friend! This Quest gives +350 reputation for Darnassus, so is attractive for rep collectors. Revenge is sweet when it is shared with a friend.

Solod at level 20 Hunter with a level 19 Turtle, not a twink.
Cleared the single Myrmidons and Priestesses from the Island before starting.
Attacked the Witch from Ruuzel's retinue, then dropped an icetrap to hold Ruuzel while I killed the warrior then killed Ruuzel on my own easily.
Neither me or the turtle dropped below half health.

What I did was approach the island from the south by sea. One Myrmidon stood alone due south on the island...the sea approaching his loc is empty. Kill that Myrmidon and waited for Ruuzel and her two friends to appear. First pull I used bear form and killed the Myrmidon that comes with her, turn after its dead and swim straight south with seal form. Ruuzel will turn quickly and flee, you may need a healing potion. Heal/med and run back in for the priestess and Ruuzel. I was able to kill Ruuzel the second time using spells and my staff, turned and fled from priestess in same manner as before. When priestess stops chasing, loot the ring.

Solo'ed this as a 22 Mage, although it took two goes. First time I sheeped Ruuzel and tried to kill the Myrmidon as fast as possible (Frostbolts, Frost Nova when he gets too close, Frostbolts until he's got around 20% health, then Fire Blast and Arcane Explosion to finish him off), after which I ran off. Ate and drank to recover health and mana, then went back in, sheeped the priestess and took down Ruuzel (needed to blow a mana shield for Ruuzel). Looted her and ran off before the Priestess came out of sheep. Good XP and a good robe too.

Ruuzel is almost always accompanied by a Wraithtail Myrmidon and a Wraithtail Priestess and attacking any one of the three will provoke them all. If you have to solo this, either be a few levels higher than the stated level of the quest or be prepared to make a kamikaze run, kill Ruuzel, and loot the Ring before you bite it. With a party, however, it shouldn't be terribly difficult.

I did this one as a lvl 23 hunter - sent my pet over to the island, and when Ruuzel came for me, killed her fairly easily after hitting her with concuss and arcane shot.

Nothing else came with her, but I did wonder if one of the myrmidons in the water was buggy - couldn't send pet to attack him, and he 'evaded' all my shots.

Ruuzel is lvl 22 with a lvl 20 and 21 guard. so not easy!
First i killed all others andI could kill Ruuzel but i died. (level 25 priest)
Then just went back to pick up the ring

21 dwarf warrior, easy quest. cleared a battle ground for the group of three that are on the island of your map in the northwest. You can't miss it its the biggest one.

battle: Charged ruuzal, popped stoneform + retaliation, strike, demo shout and bloodrage. Hamstring for good measures and worked thunderclap in there. Killed all three before I hit half health.

Got this on 22 priest. Balked when i saw three, but with a fear i could quickly burn her to 50%.

The adds came back and begin to trash me so i fled and kept dotting her; they tethered and reset and i was able to finish her off solo.

If this hasn't been said before, do not die on the island or anywhere near it. The nearest GY is on Mars and you'll have to wait for the next inbound Mars Rover to get a ride back to Azeroth.
OK, I'm kidding. It's actually in one of the suburbs of Shanghai; three plane changes and eight time zones away from Ruuzel.

Ruuzel is apparently tethered, as is one of her guards, the Myrmidon. The Sea Witch isn't, so you can pull her away and kill her first. Then kite Ruuzel away from the Myrmidon and you're done. LadyJessa (below) is right - she is tethered but will follow you if you keep hitting her. Don't forget to clear the trash first and don't loot them until you've killed Ruuzel.

I saw Lady Vespia years ago (2005?) but haven't since. I hear she's working Vegas now.

I found it difficult as a 25 feral druid. I ended up rooting the Myrmidon on one side of the island then running over to the other side. Killed Ruuzel then ran away and came back to loot.

I cleared that island twice and no sign of Ruuzel at all. I checked the forums and saw that Lady Vespia drops the ring, but no sigh of her either.I dropped the quest and went over and reaquired it, and still no sign of either mob. Maybe the patch we had on Tuesday killed them.

23 rogue here, it was easy although it's worth noting that I had decent gear and poison on both swords.

Popped Evasion, started going ham on Ruuzel and tanked all 3. Killed Ruuzel in a matter of seconds, looted the ring then Vanished.

If you come across Lady Vespia, who is located at 12, 19, she can also drop Ring of Zoram. I killed her myself on my lvl 22 paladin and got the ring on my first try. Not sure if the drop chance is guaranteed from Lady Vespia, but I'd give it a try, after all, she is a rare mob and you have a high chance of getting a green item.

I'm a level 23 Enhance Shaman with AH greens and elixirs and potions for my level. I soloed this but it took 2 tries. Careful the walk back is very very long and mobs will despawn before you can loot the quest item. First clear an area to allow for runners. Kill the caster first and interrupt as much as you can. I don't think it matters what you kill next, but I killed the ques mob 2nd. I let them run away since I could just kill them when they came back. The first mob you should save up any closer to try and avoid the run away since the caster can hit you with range. I had to use a Greater Healing potion. I'm sure there are some classes that can do this easy but as a Shaman this is how I did it.

Was surprisingly easy for a 21 rogue. Sap one guard and wait for the other two to walk off. Kill that one and repeat until she is alone.

For what it's worth, I've done this quest a few dozen times since 2005 and it took me awhile (with the assistance of comments on Wowhead) to get it completed at level. Tried the same approach today (pull and kill the untethered Sea Witch first) but she is apparently now tethered or I did something else wrong, so that approach might not work anymore. But I did learn that Druid Travel Form can outrun the trio, so maybe that's worth something.

Ruuzel is on a 6 minute respawn timer and can be separated from the two guards if you pull immediately on respawn before the guards become aware of their surroundings.

That key is a ring, the Ring of Zoram. It belonged to the rulers of this city before the waves of the Sundering drowned it.

For years the ring was lost, but the naga have recently found it.

Their leader, Ruuzel, dwells on an isle on the northern edge of Zoram. Please, <name>, retrieve the ring for me!
