These things do NOT have 8,400 HP as indicated here. I can't say exactly how much they do have, but it's <1000 even in heroic. One Shadow Burn will down them even in gimped Stam gear.

I believe they actually have something like 100 HP, and just about any hit with any spell/ ability will take care of them.

I´ve always managed to kill them with one shot from my Wand. I doubt they have more than 200 health.
Personally - If I designed a mob called "Pure Energy" I'd make sure that it only had 1 health.

Shadowguard, Hamstring, and Intercept one shot these things. I think it's pretty safe to say they have 1 HP. If they have more, it's not higher than 100.

-Wowhead finally updated and as it now says in the upper corner, these have 40 HP.

Which is quite a bit closer than the old number of 8,400 HP.

These should be killed A.S.A.P. as they start doing around 2k damage to your group members who's close to them. After they die, the person (or thing) that kills the pure energy will get a debuff that'll hurt for around 500hp a tick. Unless the debuff can be removed, it's best to make sure the healer knows that they have to heal the person on adds. (I had a healer once who didn't know.. ~_~)

Hunters, locks, and frost mages (summon elemental) can use their pets to take on one or two of these charges to reduce the damage on the party.

Mages can use ice block to remove the debuff effect, and rogues can use cloak of shadows.

I once had a mage in my party who said they were immune to her arcane explosion...

When killed these give you a buff that does stack it increases AP and spell damage i believe

I just ran Heroic and regular MgT today, they have 40 health in regular for sure, I believe in Heroic as well. It was my first Heroic ever, so I was kind of in shock and didn't notice, but regardless, they are 1-shottable.

I know its almost 10 years after the fact, but, just ran today, trying to power through for the mount ... and, these Pure Energy adds are immune to most, if not all forms of AoE. Which would also explain a poster's earlier comment about a mage in his group claiming they were immune to her Arcane explosion.

Seal of Command will hit these mobs and kill them asap, and since command now hits two other mobs aswell as the one you're focusing on they will go down really fast.

Watching yourself grow to a giant is funny as hell.

Edit: Blood Dks Heart Strike does the same it seems, tried it with my dk.

It would allow you to stack the buff cast by them on your pet, dismiss your pet , reset the boss and go back in, get more stacks.. rinse and repeat.

You can go in arenas with a pet buffed by 5000% increased damage (4950% actually)

and just destroy people :)
