To get this item, you must be at the Darkmoon Deathmatch Arena when the special chest spawns. It spawns every three or so hours at approxamately the following server times:

00:00 (Midnight)
03:00
06:00
09:00
12:00
15:00 (3:00pm)
18:00 (6:00pm)
21:00 (9:00pm)

In addition to being at the chest, you must also defend yourself if some else is seeking the treasure. Even if they are from the same faction! If you can collect 12 of Pit Fighter from the treasure chest, you will receive Master Pit Fighter and be awared Darkmoon Dominator

Like any good carnival, the Darkmoon Faire has a shady side. You can leave the skilled labor to the suckers and go for a faster score instead. If you’ve got the minerals, the Darkmoon Deathmatch offers an experience unparalleled since the Gurubashi Arena. Pitmaster Pei has a big old treasure chest just brimming with goodies and Darkmoon Faire Prize Tickets that he’ll drag out into the Darkmoon Deathmatch Pit every three hours or so. Everybody wants it, so if you want a piece of the action you’ll just have to jump in and prove that you’re the toughest one in the Pit.

Just got this on live - The stats have changed, its 510 Stamina on blue one and 575 stamina on the Master Pit Fighter trinket.

What is your toons name? I find it hard to believe someone already has 12 trinkets, though its not impossible.

If Anyone Thinks that this is Not a Good Tank Trinket, I'd Urge you to Reconsider.

Soulshifter Vortex

^ Is not in Any way a "Flavor" Item and Is most certainly a Tanking Trinket, and Meant to Be so. Sure, this Pit Master one has a lower ilvl and such, but that does not negate its usefulness.

Personally, as a DeathKnight, When The Vortex is proc'd I have about 38 Mastery, which means every DeathStrike's Heal during its duration Gives me an Absorbtion Shield worth Approximately 240% of the amount healed... (Allowing me to build an Physical Damage Absorption Barrier of about 43k Every time I DeathStrike) It is VERY Useful.

The Light of Elune DOES NOT work for looting the chest in the Darkmoon Faire's arena. You CAN NOT loot the chest while under the effects, and you get a similar message to "You cannot loot that right now". It was worth a shot though. I sacrificed mine so that you could keep yours for whatever epic moment it aids you. ;) Confirmed as of 12/10/2011.

The graphic for the proc is a size increase equal to that of the Vrykul Drinking Horn.
The size increase does not stack with other size increases.

Here's some useless info:

Untill writing this message, there is a small graphical bug with the buff this trinket applies when it procs.
The frame around all spells/items in world of warcraft seems to be missing from the buff.
You can check it out ~~Here~~ (buff on the far left)
I got into contact with a GM about this, originally thinking it was something wrong with my game files.
After testing it I was told it was a little bug and I was given the standard "I'll file a bug report".

Got this last month. Kind of useless for a hunter but it helped a lot getting the tickets, since I will have everything obtained next darkmoon. :)

Won the tournament 13 times, then a whole horde group started coming so it's nearly impossible to win now.

i'll let you guys in on the awesome way i got the chest, as already suggested you bring Noggenfogger Elixir
but i also bought loads of Darkmoon "Tiger"
drink noggens before you enter until you are small with skelly, rush in and up to the chest and plonk down a "Tiger", now stand inside it and assault the chest!
it may sound stupid but with a little luck it will work, everyones too busy fighting that they dont notice you,
and sometimes the ones that do notice you click to attack and end up sitting on the tiger, "weee!" XD

Just curious other then the stupid couple acheiv points is there any reason for non-tanks to have this. This according to askmrrobot is 2nd bis for blood tanks(ignoring heroic ds) yet every time a mage or rogue in full arena pvp gear and legendary dagger/staff has won. How is this not retarded? How could someone think this up and not see how stupid this is?
