Since this weapon and Mobus's Vile Halberd have a different ID I think the epic version is gonna drop off Mobus after 4.1, and loots prior to the patch will remain unchanged. Would be cool if someone with the blue version could check on the PTR if it's upgraded to epic or not.

what will most likely happen is the blue version will be no longer attainable, and become one of those oddity items people collect.

I'd hope they wouldn't buff the new one and not compensate those that already worked to get the old one. On the other side of the fence, the old one will become a collectors item of sorts and could sell for just as much.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this one of the best 2h weapon for hunters currently in the game that can be obtained without ever going into a raid.

It's worth noting that this is the BoE equivalent of the conquest-purchased PvP items Vicious Gladiator's Staff/Vicious Gladiator's Pike, having identical agi/stam and replacing the crit/resil with haste/mastery.

While Malevolence is better for any hunter or druid, this isn't a bad weapon if you're just looking to dump some gold on a good weapon upgrade to get yourself into raids.

Pretty nice weapon for a feral drood or hunter. I sold it for 42k!
btw... whats the spawn time for Mobus? and for the other 4 rare bosses?

Was on my priest in the Burning Steppes, and NPCScan went off with this guy. Was able to keep him targeted all the way through Elwynn, Westfall, and both areas of STV. Finally saw paladin and hunter debuffs on the target. Going to take a long time to kill him!

Tip for transmoggers: an identical substitute is Nethergarde Spear. On my server, the epic sells for about 6500-7000g. I often see the green for as little as 25g.
