Soon as the "new and improved" ZA/ZG go live, these shoulders will be the best pre-raid tank shoulders for Paladins (excluding the BoE i359 shoulders of course).

Picked these up last night, they are SICK! ZA isn't so bad, ZG was torturous though! These have a pretty awesome glowing green skull effect on them. They drop off of Hex Lord Malacrass.

Idk if i'll be rated down for this but, I think that plate wearing dps and heals shouldn't roll on these if the tank's need rolling them. Cause these are a rare drop and imagine someone who's OS dps or heals rolls on a rare drop? i got these but the warr in my dungeon group took his time to roll and finally need rolled it. even if tank is your ms, you didn't come in as a tank so it's REALLY impolite and straight up rude to roll on em like that

I went through the trouble of making account here just to whine how these shoulders have a VERY low chance to drop. 8 kills so far for hex lord, and never seen these. Bone Plate Handguards in the other hand drops EVERY damn time.

A great looking tank item, plus great stats. Socket bonus is nice but not the best. It is a rare drop (like most tank items) So might want to go with a guild since there are always the chance for a healer/dps to need it for offspec.

So far i have seen every piece of gear from this guy's loot table, even the .7% drop rate trinket, EXCEPT these shoulders.

And i have a feeling the day they drop i will get some asshat ret pally roll need for off spec and gank them from me.

These are a DK tanks BiS until Cho'gall and/or Nefarian. So you will likely have these a while.

UPDATE: I have been farming this boss non stop for the last 2 weeks. I have killed him at least 40-50 times. Still no shoulders. According to wowhead they should have dropped 4 times by now.

Got these from ZA today, they are difficult to farm for because they drop off the second to last boss and because of the low drop rate.

I, like many of you, did not believe these shoulders could ever be found, until today.

Sometimes, if not all the time, loot works like that: every day is a bad day for loot, except one lucky break, when you clear out. I got these shoulders (yaaaaaay!) and then the Bloodlord's Protector in Zul'Gurub both today and I am one happy tank.

So for all of you desperately searching for your Troll Dinnerplate Pauldrons, never fear: if it just can't seem to work out, one day it might; and if that day is after the content has run stale and you found an upgrade somewhere else, at least you found an upgrade somewhere else.

I, like so many frustrated tanks am believing these do not exist. I have ran ZA 2 times a day for the past month and have never seen them drop for my tank. I know the day they do drop someone else will need roll on them and win, or I will run a raid and get a shoulder drop the same day.

Just logged into battle.net/wow and it took me 32 completed ZA runs to get these. Do not fear fellow tanks, they DO drop.

Srslly, blizz is making fun of me, it NEVER drops when I run this with my dk tank, but i already saw this drop like 5 times when I went with my rogue. Its sad.

These shoulders are only marginally better than Earthshape Pauldrons

Considering how much parry comes on gear now, I'd myself prefer the dodge to start with. Had a loss of .23% CTC equipping these.

Results may vary for others.

This only dropped for us during a guild run when everyone died atleast once on each boss, so that's about a few dozen wipes. I believe the sacrifice for these pauldrons were sufficient that they would drop that time.

13% drop rate my arse =/ done 19 runs on my pala tank. havent seen it drop once! seen it drop once or twice on alts =(

I have seen the mount off The cougar lady (high priestess Bethlekk* not sure if i spelled that right) more then i have seen these Shoulders drop. and i agree totally with Numeness

I had begun to believe that these things didn't exist myself - though thank God tanking is my offspec. I'm not sure about this 12% droprate though because I've kicked Malacrass back into his mother's womb a good few times and never saw them drop until yesterday. I was so happy when I asked if I could need for offspec and the tank said, "Please do!" Because it'll probably take till halfway through 4.3 before I see the freakin' things drop again...
