Actually, having one eye would cause you to lose depth perception and make you almost always miss. One eye doesn't increase your focus, either, lol. It depletes it.

Saddly, for night elves who want to use this for RP, it does NOT cancel the glow effect of the avatar's eyes, making it almost appear invisible.

Just saying, this is pretty much the best Item you will find for Enchance Shamans/Feral Druids/Rogues, and even to some degree, Warriors/Pallies due to the hit/stam, it's a real winner :o at least for 10ish levels, I know my 34 Hunter got this at 20, and has yet to find anything better.

Sadly not available in the game.
The requirement for this item, involves killing hogger, so this will never be obtained legitamately.

What? Hogger is now the new 'end-boss' for Stockades.

Actually, interestingly enough, Pirates used their Eyepatches not just to cover up damaged / lost eyes.
They also wore it so their eye(s) would get used to the darkness so they could see better at night when they take it off.
So technically speaking, an eyepatch SHOULD give hit rating.

I looked around a bit and didn't come up with anything. Being this is Alliance only quest reward, is there a Horde equivalent to this head slot item at or near this level?

This helm really ticks me off. I have a F2P twink war, that I plan on just using for tanking purposes. The quest which gives this helm also gives basically the BiS tanking ring at this level. This helm is also the best you can get at this level as well. Such a pain in the rear.

To be honest, I'd be very happy with this item even as a mage or priest. Purely because it means you will have defeated the almighty Hogger and merely lost an eye in the process, clearly indicating you are a truly powerful warrior indeed and ready to solo deathwing.

(Yes, I'm aware it's leather, I'm just remarking on how you'd be lucky to get away alive let alone unscathed)

For those of you wondering how an eyepatch could possibly give you hit rating or make your vision better I give you this fact.
In older times pirates would wear eyepatches even when that eye was working fine. Why? Out in the open sea the sun was often unhindered and the only dark/shaded places were below deck. So if you went from working above deck for an hour to below deck you wouldn't be able to see a damn thing. Pirates being the smart seadogs that they were wore an eyepatch on one eye so it could get used to the darkness and then would switch the patch to the other eye when they went below decks to create an "instant night vision" effect. For pirates a second could save their life. The person wearing this patch before you probably used it in the same way. Also depth perception increases with one eye if allowed to just like how if you had no vision at all your sense of hearing would increase.

Wish horde got an headpiece like this at this level. Sure lucky fishing hat is nice but I would gladly have a little less stam for 8 agility. This is a slap to the face to 20 horde trials :(

I'm not sure if its been said here but... unfortunately the hunter's heirloom head piece cannot be transmogged to look like this. ):
