Just imagine being a "Dwarf Archaeology" Shaman, Having a hearthstone, Astral Recall with the glyph, and now this! (assuming that it doesn't share a cooldown) That's 3 hearths!
Oh yeah, AND the guild talent, "hasty hearth"

With all that:

Hearthstone + Hasty Hearth = 15 minute CD

Astral Recall + Glyph of Astral Recall = 7.5 minute CD

The Innkeeper's Daughter + Hasty Hearth = 15 Minute CD

Do note: When you successfully use -this- hearthstone, "The Innkeeper's Daughter" spawns (a female dwarf) as your 'companion', and will follow you, laugh at random times, and (twice now for me) blow kisses.

(It happens when you use this altogether, as my hearth is stormwind)

Finally we don't have to sit there at the inn all day pretending we are there for the mead while ogling the Innkeepers daughter, not having the guts to ask her out. Now she is mine and will even follow me out on adventures. Only way this could be any better, was if she was bringing beer!(Blizzard: add beer!).

This is the best reward I have gotten from archaeology so far. Finally an upgrade to an item that have been with me for 6 years now, however small some might find it. I love it...

Btw. She is counted as a normal vanity pet, and will go away if you summon another pet.

EDIT: hmm for some reason she only showed up the first time I used it. Wonder if its random or only once...

People seems to forget that Archaeology is a pass the time profession. Yes, there are some cool lvl 85 epics you can get from it but nevertheless its merely a hobby within a hobby. I got this new hearthstone and immediately deleted my old one. I for one consider it an upgrade with no real benefit, it's just fun to have. I'm guessing the companion is random upon use she showed up for me after my first use of the stone but didn't after the second use.

I didn't see this project until 525, however I leveled my archaeology on a painful plan of using as few troll fragments as possible to hit 450 ( so I could drop a massive bomb in my chase of ZIn'rokh... which I didnt get /sigh ). So I do believe people are correct with their assumption of 450+

I like this item, it's a unique substitute to the hearthstone. I personally have the Ethereal Portal (and love it), but this is a fun option for people who enjoy fun items in the game because it's a game.

Similar to Ironforge, if your hearth location is set to the Inn in the Dwarven District of Stormwind you will spawn The Innkeeper's Daughter, a translucent female dwarf companion upon hearthing.

I can confirm that with this in your inventory instead of your hearthstone, when using the auto-unstuck feature you will NOT be teleported to your home point. Instead you will be killed and sent to the graveyard. So it does have some usefulness over a hearth but I am doubting that will be effected by Hasty Hearth which relegated it to completely useless if your guild has that.

Seems to work for Horde now, I just hearthed to the Valley of Wisdom in Orgimmar and had a ghostly female Dwarf of questionable reputation follow me around.

So for 150 archaeology fragments we have been given a hearthstone that is only special in that it summons a shady dwarf, not a draenei, or a night elf, or even an orc or troll! A dwarf. A male dwarf. *tabs back into WoW*

...Okay so my friend is telling me he thinks it's a female dwarf, but he's only about 60% sure, dwarves are highly androgynous. I'll brb I'm finding a dwarf to tell me. *comes back* Okay well I found a dark iron dwarf but he isn't sure because he can only identify the genders of dark iron dwarves, and even then just barely. Off to find another dwarf.

*comes back* Okay! I found a dwarf who is telling me that it does summon a female dwarf! He's about 95% sure it's a girl, but he says that's as good as it'll get. There is still a 5% chance it is a male dwarf who shaved his beard, but I'm just going to go with it's a girl dwarf. *reads item name* ...Okay I should've done that in the first place. It's a girl dwarf.

So yeah 150 fragments to summon a most likely girl dwarf. So worth it.

Recently used this as Orc and the ghost appeared to my surprise.

You are so missing the point of archeoligy

Let me guess... the real point of archaeology is to spend hours flying around to places you've already visited hundreds of times in order to get rewards that are 9 out of 10 times completely, utterly useless.

Archaeology requires investing a lot of time. Anything that requires so much player time should have rewards that are at least more than wastes of bag and bank space. While there are a couple of rewards that are definitely useful (Zin'Rokh and the Staff of Sorceror-Thane Thaurissan), most of the items don't provide any benefit other than some particularly lame effect like dwarves dancing, or an incredible 20 second shape shift.

Blizzard mostly failed on archaeology by making the rare items have absolutely minimal effects. Even those that have cool effects last for such a short time that they're almost insulting after you've spent a few hours collecting fragments.

I was stoked thinking I'd have an additional hearth (something great for world pvp) when this came up. When I used it and saw it put my hearth stone on cooldown it was like getting a poke in the eye.

~~Also note that if you destroy your hearthstone with the intent of keeping this in your bag instead it appears that you cannot get your normal hearthstone back without destroying this first.~~ Nevermind... the innkeeper does give you a new hearth even with The Innkeeper's Daughter in your packs. I found it in my pack later... amidst a bunch of useless gray artifacts. :)

It's a HS replacement with a proc effect - I've changed it from my regular HS just for fun.

IMO Archeology is just that, something just for fun. If you expect to become millionaire or have this OMG Buff you might have the wrong explicative about this profession... any how it is a secondary profession with little to no profit.

I do it as a timer killer between queues :)

If it has not been said already, there is currently what I assume to be a bug with this item.

A normal hearthstone gets interrupted when the player is damaged.
The innkeeper's daughter does not.

Not sure what the chances of the NPC spawning in are, but I have yet to have her spawn in since I got the artifact a month ago. I haven't used my regular hearthstone since getting this, so I guess it's just bad luck. :p

Here's what Blizz should do: this item should allow players to set a second hearth location. Sharing the CD with the regular hearthstone is fine, but it'd be really cool to set one stone to IF and one to Shattrath, for example. Or to Dalaran, for those who don't have the teleport tabard. That way it'd be cool AND useful. :)

It's just a copy of your Heartstone, only differance is .. it somtime spawn a ghost as u use it. Else, when u set a new inn, both normal HS and this is changed to new place.

I use Mik's Scrolling Battle Text, and sometimes it lets me know when my heart is no longer on cooldown, so after i got the The Innkeeper's Daughter i was quite surprised when this message popped on my screen

"The Innkeeper's Daughter is ready to be used"

*sigh* So many people whining about this item being useless. I just had this pop up for me on my main and I was genuinely excited. Yeah, it's just a replacement for your hearthstone but it's an interesting item and that's what Archaeology is about. Interesting, flavourful items. This was one I'd heard about and it sounded like something quite cool and I don't expect to be disappointed when I finish creating it. So, in short, stop your whining and enjoy your cool new hearthstone.

EDIT: Got it now, had the daughter proc first time I used it :D I am not disappointed.

This appears to be a perma pet now after patch 4.1, probably as long as you have the item in your bag like the Haunted Memento. I hearthed once today and this pet would not go away, even after dying in Zul'Aman.

Can anyone confirm it being a perma pet?

Seems as of patch 4.1 shes a permanent ghost companion. any and all citys, camps i got to shes there following me.

For the record, this does not count as a hearthstone for Home Alone (Children's week achievement). If you ditched yours when you got this artifact like I did, talk to an innkeeper and set your home again. After you confirm, you will receive a new hearthstone.

I've noticed that after the latest patch when she became a semi-permanent pet, that she's dying randomly when I land to perform archeology upon a site. I land and dismount and she just dies and is gone until I mount up again and land once more. She appears to only be dying in archeology sites but I can't be sure of this.

The Innkeeper's Daughter can no longer be targeted for healing or harmful effects.

This hotfix has, for some reason, created this bug, which I find to be most entertaining. Simply mount/dismount or zone and she will be back, ready to perform again to your heart's content! So far she's died while doing Archaeology, in front of the UP and MGT entrances, and within the dungeons themselves. I'm guessing it happens everywhere.

I'm positive this won't last long so i'm going to enjoy it while I can.

My favorite case of "Dwarven Death" so far was while doing PoS (before the hotfix). I contracted and it jumped to her, happily ending her life after two tics. I couldn't continue with the dungeon for 10 minutes or so due to laughing hard enough for tears. =)

Since 4.1, while mini-pets stay with you even if you die / log off, my Innkeeper Daughter stays a lot with me, although she seems to die about 10 seconds after I log in / summon her again.

I guess Blizzard heard how annoyed this laugh could be, thus helps with our frustration.

I had Haunted Memento in my bags when i solved item. Read about them conflicting here and put memento in my bank. Ghost from memento still followed me while memento was in bank, even after relogging/switching toons. Mailed memento to alt, now no ghost, but still no daughter either yet and i have used it about 10 times in the past couple days..

I was wondering why the heck I was constantly hearing the sound of a girl Dwarf dying when I was in Stormwind, then I finally saw "The Innkeeper's Daughter" ghost after she had collapsed and died on the player that used this. I'm glad I finally figured out it was this little toy. It was annoying me and making me think there was a Dwarf Huntress on my server that was fond of using Feign Death as often as she could!

I have the haunted memento. I got the daughter and have used it probably 75 times or more with the memento in my bags. I have seen the daughter proc a total of about 3 times pre 4.2. I noticed others were posting about it not procing with the memento. I quit playing for about 5 months after april and since I got back the daughter has not proced once. I dont see her at all in over 50 uses. I will try moving the memento to the bank like others have suggested to see what happens.

Come to think of it, I haven't seen the daughter at all dieing or not with anyone.

Edit a little later: I sent the memento to an alt and still do not see the daughter.

Keep in mind that the The Innkeeper's Daughter shares cooldown with the original Hearthstone, so you could be negative and think of it as a piece of crap OR you could consider it being a cool new icon for your heartstone that also gives a chance to get a glimpse of a beautiful dwarven girl.

To anyone having a hard time getting her to spawn. I believe shes kinda like a pet so if ya have a pet out then she wont spawn.

Try putting your pet away b4 you hearth, and also if ya bring out a pet she disappears.

Just thought it might be worth mentioning... I've had this item for ages and replaced my HS with it, never had the daughter appear so i opened a ticket lol

The reply was... 'When using this item, it should normally summon the Innkeeper's Daughter as a companion, however if you have an active companion pet, this will prevent the Daughter from appearing to you'...

This is a completely USELESS item. What use is it, if we cant set its location different than our hearthstone? What a stupid item. Thanks Blizzard for making me waste 150 fragments on this. Daughter, daughter, where for art thou innkeeper's daughter?

Just had a chat with a GM about the absence of the innkeeper's daughter showing up when using the Innkeeper's Daughter hearth stone.

He said that he wasn't "sure if it was intended for her to not show up when using that." i.e. You should be getting the daughter every time you use it. (I've had the Innkeeper's daughter for several months now and have never gotten her to appear and I've been using it extensively during my Archaeology flailings.)

The GM also mentioned that others have been complaining that she hasn't been making an appearance.

Standard line: He will forward my comment and for me to track the Bug Report forum for any comments.

I'll edit this if, in the unlikely chance, I hear/see anything.

The above was posted in 4.3.3. At that time the description mentioned that the daughter would appear. That comment is no longer there. So, apparently, the innkeeper's daughter is now locked away by dear old dad and will no longer make an appearance. (In other words, the item apparently was broken at the beginning and rather than fix it Blizzard decided to modify the description. Sigh...) (But at least we're still told when the Innkeeper's Daughter is ready! Lockpick ready!)

Yes, take heart! The innkeeper's daughter will occasionally appear. But in a faint, ghost-like form for just a few seconds. No, she still doesn't show up on radar so you can find out which room she's in. I still have my lock pick just in case...

When I first got Innkeeper's Daughter she would pop up fairly frequently. I found it annoying most of the time.
Now, for about the last 6 months, there has been no sight of her and that has been ok.
I see no real reason to keep this stone when the one you get from a Innkeeper does exactly the same thing.
