Yes, they are the cheap and nasty gems - Your Auction House prices will confirm this. If your realm is like mine, they are sub 20g each now and can be bought in quite some numbers at just 13g ea !

Alternatives to crafting the Alicite cuts that will not sell but are generally made to level up are :

Alicite Pendant :

I crafted 50. I proc'd 7 Blues so a little over 10% chance. I would not expect a mad rush on buyers at the AH but ...

Blue pendants are currently 400g ea
Green pendants are currently 40 - 120g ea

Disenchanting 50 green pendants produced : 80 x Hypnotic dust and 30 lesser celestial essence.
This would equal 1.6 Hypnotic & 0.6 Lesser celestials per pedant giving the D/E value per pendant at 49g20s. - Bearing in mind that Alicite is 13g - 19g atm.

To compare profits then - Alicite 13g - 19g ec 24 @ 26gea = 624g

Total sales = 2304 - 60 = 2244.

An easy 600+ profit by DE and also the possibility of some blue proc sales and more regents after DE if the blues don't sell.

Any cut gems from this one can be socketed only in items with item level 285 or higher.
