5 options once your done making gems for leveling

1) make low gems to sell
2) save for alchemy transmute to inferno ruby
3) got all colours? transmute to shadowspirit diamond (meta)
4) got all colours? make fire prisms to level 500-525
5) make fist weapons to disenchant

You can make the fist weapons and get about 2 GCE average. So, see if that is worth more than an infernal ruby or selling 3 on the AH. Maybe it is.

Since 4.3 came out price of these went pretty high, easy obtainable gear from new 3 heroics and the fact that you can transmute Inferno ruby without cooldown (which is needed by most of classes/specs) made them that way.

Check the AH prices for these gems raw before making carnelian spikes to disenchant. It takes 3 of these to make one offhand to de . Once in a while you'll only get hypnotic dust while de'ing or only 1 greater celestial essence. The essence sells fro around 100g on my server. These raw gems sell anywhere from 69g - 89g per gem.

You can sometimes make more gold by just selling the gem then making the offhand and de'ing depending on your current server prices.

These should either be sold or turned into Inferno Ruby or into ShadowSpirit Diamonds. On my server Carnelian sells for 50-60 gold, Inferno Rubies sell for 150-200 gold and ShadowSpirit Diamonds for 150-300 gold.
