That is a hell of a lot of attack power... plus two gem slots and decent attack speed? looks like hunters and druids are going to get a run for their money on this one. Mind you, there ARE better choices, but when upgrading from 232 and 245 gear?

The socket bonus is +6 agility, by the way. From purely hunter PoV, if you need hit, this is relatively easy to get. It could have more agility for sure but the extra socket and the truckload of attack power (when comparing to IL245 Hellion Glaive) compensates for it. As Survival when gemmed with two +20 agility gems, you'll lose ~13 agility, ~30 stamina and about 2.10% crit against the 25-man normal Anub polearm. In return you'll get ~100 attack power, ~1.6% hit and about 1.35% more armor penetration. It's always good to have different choices to juggle gear about if/when need arises.

While Druids and Hunters will no doubt lust after a weapon like this, this is a very nice (possibly superior) weapon for Death Knights, Arms Warriors and to a lesser extent Retribution Paladins (who will probably prefer the Citadel Enforcer's Claymore since ArP is a wonky stat for them ) due to the fact that it's budget is skewed so much towards Attack Power rather than Agility. This of course assumes you are actually in need of the hit rating.

I wouldn't roll against a hunter or druid for it though, given that there are at least 3 strength based 2H weapons already in ICC 10 and 2 of those are much more easily obtained.

From the point of view of a Feral DPS druid, this weapon is a great choice. The lack of Hit gear makes this very nice to balance out your gear. And the armor pen is just piled on to compensate the low amount of hit they do put on this weapon. Notice how the Heroic version's Hit rating is lower than the non-heroic's. Clearly intended to be for those who are trying to juggle the hit cap.

Oh, and just to make a note. Gear with armor pen and hit or armor pen and expertise rating combination is rare. And stuff like that (in order to try and get armor pen on every piece of gear) would really help out to try and hit the armor pen hard cap.

This is definitely BiS (second only to the heroic version) for MM hunters. With the hit, you'll be able to stack ArP boots and belt (although you will probably have to take a point into Focused Aim for your lack of hit.) Even if you end up having to put a 20 hit gem in one of your pieces of gear (which this gives a nice option to get that extra 6 agi), you'll still come out far ahead of using Distant Land.

Unfortunately have not had a chance to own this weapon, but as a MM hunter, I have a comment on the hit rating discussion here. I am in nearly full tier 10 (missing chest) and, having compared stats on the missing gear, see no reason to believe that I will be in danger of dropping below hit cap. With only 2 more pieces of gear to replace (legs with the LW for the armor pen) and my t10 chest, I currently sit at just under 11% hit rating, which is well over cap. This might change, but as it seems now the hit is not necessary for a MM hunter, even without focused aim (currently NOT in my spec). Heroic of this will be BiS for MM from nearly everything I've seen so far.

I imagine it's also better than this for hunters since it's a higher level item.

I would agree the weapon you linked would be better but NOT because of the ilvl....

When will people learn, higher ilvl DOES NOT make an item better.

just in regards to design: i just picked this up last night. I've noticed it has a skeleton head on it with smoke pluming from its mouth. it leaves a trail as you run. very cool.

The stam is wrong on this item, it's actually 109, not 243.

Im trying to decide if i should roll on this during my guild run of ICC if it drops(Hunter already has a better weapon and no feral druids) Im a blood death knight tank. Should i roll on this? Im currently using Ramalandi's Blade of culling.
