This has a 25% chance to proc per cast, and likely a 45 second internal cooldown.

It's a weaker Pandora's Plea with full regen stats and no throughput. Very nice trinket, and can be obtained much easier than Pandora's Plea.

If this trinket procs every 45 seconds, the proc will equate to about 55.6mp5. It would make more sense if it procced every 50, and that would be about 50 mp5 (assuming a 1.5 sec cast time). Nifty chart ensues, with left being how much time it took to proc whenever it's up, and benefit on the right:

Note the proc only has a 25% chance per cast to work. I'm talking about the proc here, not the trinket's mp5 value as a whole.

with kings and replenishment this will give about 1386 mana and 54 mp5. Compared to https://www.wowhead.com/cata/item=45703#comments which gives about 74 mp5 to spirit based casters. For Vezax, this trinket still gives 1386 mana, and spark still gives about 40 mp5. It takes almost 3 minutes for 40 mp5 to match 1386 mana, giving the 5 man trinket the edge.No more need to run 10 man ulduar.

I'll prob try to pick up one of these on my shaman for arena, i seem to go through a lot of mana spamming lhw that even with the CD 500mana back is better then nothing and seeing how i don't raid this is probably bis for someone like me, who knows tho.

As Crevox kindly pointed out, this trinket will probably average out as about 50 MP5 from the proc. I'd like to point out the benefits of the Int though.

84 int equates to .5049% crit, 1260 mana for your mana pool, and 12.6 MP5 when you have replenishment. Add Kings into the mix, and you get 92.4 Int, which gives you .5544 crit, 1386 mana, and 13.86 MP5 with replenishment. Priests get even more benefit from the trinket, as it adds another 693 mana restored by Shadow Fiend.

This is a very powerful trinket for fights where longevity matters, and is about the easiest epic level trinket to get. I'm honestly surprised that this wasn't on the heroic mode loot table.

TLDR - With Kings you get 53.86 MP5, 0.55% chance to crit, and 1386 extra mana.

Some comparisons in mana regen for resto shaman:

28% unbuffed crit casting riptide > HW > HW rinse/repeat through about 4 full mana bars:

Mana restored:
Water Shield 73.1%
Mana Restore (Meta) 15.3%
Mana Mana (Trinket) 11.7%

I noticed while raiding that it tended to actually beat out my meta for mana regen, but it was consistently behind while spamming unbuffed spells in IF.

The guys at EJ explains this better than I could:

10 Intellect = 6 mp5 if you have a 5-minute fight with Mana Tide and 100% uptime from Replenishment.

10 Intellect also gives 3.3 crit rating and 1.8 spell power

Intellect gives mana from three different sources. Four if you include improved water shield procs.

1. Initial mana pool. +18mana.
2. Replenish. 0.225mp5
3. Mana tide. 4.32mana per use.

In five minute fight those number are:
1. 0.3mp5
2. 0.225mp5
3. 0.072mp5

Those combined give ~0.6mp5.

I got this on my holy paladin the other day and tested it in Ulduar10. It produces about the same mana over a given fight as the meta, and it procs ALL the time.. even when I'm not doing anything. We had a running joke in the raid because someone would /rw and I'd get 500 mana, or /readycheck, 500 mana, mounting up, 500 mana, buffing, talent switching, vent activity, 500 mana.

Obviously not all of these things are causing the trinket to proc, but it seems like it just ticks 500 mana every time the internal cooldown is up, whether you've actually done anything or not. This seems broken/buggy. I smell a hotfix.

I confronted it with Darkmoon Card :Greatness from a paladin PoV, considering a mana pool of 30k raid buffed (an average value for a mix of Naxx25 and Ulduar gear, int stacking) and on a 3 min timer (time required to synchronize DP with Greatness proc):
- with Tears of the Vanquished we have 2000 mana gained, ~55 mp5
- with DC:G ~1200 extra mana from Plea (I considered DP popped within 1st 2 sec of Greatness proc) and optionally 651 mana by meleeing with SoW (15ppm--->3, luckily 4 proc within 15 sec of Greatness buff) corresponding to ~33-51 mp5 NOT RELIABLE, because it needs a good timing, paticular fighting situations and the possibility to sustain Plea debuff for the whole duration
BUT
DC:G has 6 more intellect and 300 int proc gives also 60 spell power and ~ 2,19% crit for roghly 1/3 of the fight and if planets are aligned and u're lucky to get a few mana tide ticks with Greatness up it's another 1k mana restored

My conclusion is....looking at regen (our current main issue unless u're a FoL spammer, but at that point why a int trinket, go for a spell power one...) I'll stick to TotV (with Pandora's Plea in the other slot), more reliable and I'm not bound anymore to Dp/Greatness proc mechanic, but I cry for the lost extra bonus of Greatness :(

Any opinion on this matter?

Can this trinket be used in conjunction with the meta gem or do they share an internal CD? I'm thinking it would be quite a powerful mana return combo if used together.

Earlier today, I picked up this trinket, and was previously using a Sapphire Owl (with 2x 20int gems), and Pandora's Plea. After doing some research I figured that it is better than the owl. Int is roughly equivalent with epic gems; the owl restores 2340 mana every 5 minutes. Tears will restore 500 every 45-50 seconds, which (using the 50 second value) is 3000 mana every 5 minutes. Hopefully this will help other JC Pallys (and other classes) decide there trinkets.

The 1260 mana and .5% crit is amazing this trink just made my mana efficient disc priest even more so. I recommend this trinket for other disc priests, holy pallies, and shamans perhaps as well

though im not saying its a bad trinket for other healing classes i think, for example, a holy priest should get an actual high mp5 trink than this one that just gives a high amount of mana, roughly 6.8 mp5 from the 84 int. id stick with trying to get Spirit-World Glass instead

Ive had this proc back to back with the insightful earthseige meta gem. The proc rate on this trink seems to be higher than the meta gem as i see +500 mana flash quite a bit more often than the +600 i get from the meta. Ive also seen it proc off inner fire and other buffs. its also procced on like the 2nd or 3rd penance hit so it procs at strange times. If it has the ability to proc off a mana generating spell such as hymn of hope and such id say thatd be a bit much

These numbers do not take into account the replenishment nerf that came into effect the same time this trinket was released. So, yeah, building the Challenger?

3.2 patchnotes

Replenish This buff now grants 1% of the target's maximum mana over 5 seconds instead of 0.25% per second.

so from 0.25% to 0.20% per second => a 20% nerf, lowering the 0.225mp5 to 0.18mp5

This in turn makes the effect of 1 int 0.552mp5

making the intellect part of this trinket worth (84x0.552) 46,368 mp5 for restoration shaman, making the trinket's net worth 102mp5 for restoration shamans in a typical boss fight.

I submitted this screenshot of the proc, hopefully it will be uploaded shortly. It looks like a series of green concentric circles around your character's body, then fades into greenish gold (though the gold may just be because my holy spells are golden in color). And it is indeed named "Mana Mana" in the combat log.

I really wish this trinket didn't have the int, and it had some other equally usefull healer stat.

The reason is, that every time this item drops for me, about once every 5 or so runs, a dps will always need and win over me because of the int, no matter how much i tell them not to ninja the healing trinket, and tell them it clearly is meant to be a healer trinket, as there is already a caster dps, meele/range dps and tanking trinket from the same inst, it should be mine (the healer) without question.

Judging by the comments on this page, lots of the other people here don't have the same dps ninja problem, i know i might get downrated if i ask for advice but hell, how do i get this trinket without making my own group and changing it to master looter every time we get to the last boss?

It might just be my server, but its a very annoying problem..

This trinket has an internal cooldown of around 45 seconds.

500 mana every 45 seconds is equal to about 55MP5.

Still usable by Paladin and Discipline Priest, but easily replaced by superior ICC251/264 trinkets or emblem rewards.

No longer worth farming imho.

I didn't see anyone mention it yet, but yes, it does proc as a Shadow Priest. I was unsure as the wording says "cast a helpful spell" rather than something like "chance on spell hit", whether it would proc on the healing benefits gained in Shadow spec. It does, though obviously this is more beneficial for healing specs and there are many better trinkets for SPriests.
