It pretty much is the BiS Tanking Weapon for DKs

VS Voldrethar you gain:
Around 1,4% Dodge
Close to 2% Hit
1 Stamina
And 2,6% Haste

and lose:
Close to 100 AP
around 0,5% Parry
0,1% Crit
and 5,7% ArPen.

So the net gain is around 1% avoidance and 2% hit for the loss of 100 AP und the 5,7% ArPen.

And you shouldn't even be comparing it to Earthshaper due to the two Socket slots which make quite a huge difference.
Better start befrieding some Ferals/Hunters/Most of the Melee or start bunkering DKP

as a hunter i would stick to my lotrafen, if you're that far in ulduar, and are not hit capped yet, theres really something wrong with you ;p

This may be BiS for ferals, but it would end up adding more total raid dps if given to a Ret/MS/Fury/DK.

You do, in fact, get the same raw dps from it. However, after normalization... that is not the case.

BiS for feral tanks. It's also BiS for a lot of DPS classes. That being said, it's not uncommon for guilds to gear out their tanks first.

And ferals will out-dps any Ret/MS/Fury/DKs out there as long as the feral isn't full retarded.

Why? i read all these forums and every one has something to say about hunters and how they should NOT get a weapon, and only how this weapon or that is NOT made for a Hunter. Well moron, what exactly would you suggest then as a weapon that is for a hunter if not first of all, a polearm that in past has always been geared towards hunters? And you mean to tell me that the stats are NOT made for Hunters in mind? There are VERY few weapons out there speciffically made for one class. And im sure that anyone could argue that this could go to any other class, but to say that you would be... whatever that is if this went to a hunter is ridiculous.

All the posts I read show one thing going to hunters... Bows or Guns and then even THOSE are looked at as not hunter gear if they have any other stat on it. Its absolutly ridiculous.

Kind of a Shame that it has the same Graphic as Relentless Edge, you can't tell the difference if that hunter/druid has a 239 Weapon from Yogg or just a 219 weapon from Ignis.

For the first time theres a weapon progression DK's can pass on for the hunters/druids without feeling left in the dirt by blizzard. (I have never seen betrayer of humanity passed in favor of a hunter :P) If you weigh out stats considering the +hit this may actually seem to be bis for DK's however due to the fact that DK armor in ulduar has a trend of +hit it may be more viable an option to go for the Vezax hard mode sword. Besides, this polearm (just like the betrayer) has haste... blegh. :P

Hm, now would this be better than the feral pvp weapons for tanking? I know you trade it a s**t ton of agi, but I've heard after about ~40% dodge you should start stacking stam, and most Gladiators weapons are trading about 100 agi for 100 stam.

Any suggestions?

A horrible letdown compared to its predecessor. The Dark Edge of Insanity has an eye that blinks and turns it its socket, this thing is just... some polearm. 3 other polearms look the same as this one, too.

The Dark Edge had an awesome proc, too, this one just has stats.

Doesn't live up, really. Even if it's an awesome weapon stat-wise, of course.
