In addition, you can do the dance emote while on this thing and sail around, never missing a beat.

Do not log out while high in the air upon this thing. When you re-log, your mount will be gone and you will fall to your death. (Just happened to me).

Well. to use this carpet in northern land you need to learn cold weather flying.

Mount speed increasing effects do not work. Crusader Aura and such do absolutely nothing to the speed of vehicles.

I just tested the whole thing about being able to be on your mount while using the flying carpet (see screenshots) but it doesn't work, at least not now. Maybe it did at one point....

I am sorry, but magic rug flying regulations specifically prohibit any activity other than (a) enjoying the view (recommended), (b) reviewing one's possessions (optional) and (c) clutching rug edges in sheer stomach-churning terror (not recommended).

Here is a question i've been dying to ask.. can a person take up taloring, get to the skill to use the mount, learn said mount, then unlearn tailoring? only reason i ask is due to the mounts being "spells" now, dont know how the requirements work or can be tweeked. I hope someone has already tried this and can let us all know!

Now, here's a little tip for you that find infinite dusts (for the imbued cloth) at obscene prices in your server - find an enchanter, preferably a guildie or someone you know isn't an "arse".. While you level your tailoring to 410, you will make a lot of uncommon quality armors; They are lvl 70, 72. Now, give some of these, or all , to that enchanter and you will get your dusts easily, and if you let the enchanter keep the leftover dusts (you'll only need 8 for this), you'll probably have a happy enchanter friend now that'll give you mighty discounts on 'chants :)
That's at least how I'm working now, I send pretty much everything that is not of epic quality to a friend and I get basicly free enchants in return.

its a n00b question. but can someone buy this, learn the spell for the 50 mounts achievemtn and not use it?

Unfortunately it's graphically BUGGED!

You may see yourself perfectly, but all other players will look at you and see half of your body below the carpet.

I talked to the GM, and he told me that Blizzard does not plan to fix this soon, because there are other more important bugs to fix =/

Take a look at the screenshot i've posted, to feel the experience the other players will have when they see you.

This problem seems to have started in the last patch (3.0.8).

I made this for one of my guild members, but he said he could not use it..

he clamed that he had to have tailoring skill (410) to use it..i thought that was just me for making it? is this bug or is the carpet a profession specific mount?

Just thought I'd point out (however needlessly) that this is one of three race unrestricted mounts, the others being Turbo-Charged Flying Machine and Flying Machine. So you can indeed make these and sell them in a neutral AH.

I'm not sure why anyone would want to do that, other than the possible faction price differences.

Seeking clarification about tailoring/engineering mounts:

I am very much aware that this carpet requires Tailoring in order to be USED, however I am uncertain if that is also the requirement to just right-click on this item and learn it. I don't know if only trying to summon a mount is considered USE, or if any and all interaction with these items are considered USE.

I have seen carpets on the AH so I just want to be sure about this before bothering to buy it, since if I cannot simply add the carpet to my mount list without Tailoring I'd sooner learn to make my own. :p

Holy hell, I wish I had plants to fix things. That'd be great - I'd have the lawn mow itself - and the shrubs tend to the roses. Hell, I'd have a maple tree mop - my - floor.

... and that certain level is indicated in the tool tip, in the case of this item in particular its 410. Not some arbitrary "Oh some level or another"...

Enough with the dumb post, that way I don't have to post dumb post just to draw attention to the fact there are alot of dumb post that can be purged freeing up valuable resources consumed because of dumb posts.

As of patch 3.3 this only requires a tailoring skill of 300 to craft/ride.

I presume this was changed in 3.3 because it is now trainable by all Master Tailoring trainers in Outland. I was able to train it today in Hellfire Peninsula at Honor Hold at lvl 69 with tailoring 363.

Also, it now only requires Tailoring 300 to use. A much needed change for this item, since it was not usable until lvl 65 minimum (requires Grand Master Tailoring) despite other flying mounts being usable at lvl 60.

This recipe is possible to train in Hellfire Peninsula, In Thrallmar! IT NEEDS tailoring skill 300! So its not 410!

When u are in the air ur speed is 150%, and its also able to ride it on ˝land¨. Its actually flying above the ground, but speed is reduced to 100% and it looks different than in air. I just get my yesterday, and I hope this will help you!

Too bad the fast one doesn't come in this colour. Mounts should scale according to your riding skill. I prefer this colour to both the frosty and the magnificent flying carpets.

As of 4.0.1, all flying mounts scale according to your skill, so this flying carpet can fly at the +280% and +310% speeds if you have the appropriate riding skill.

Great flying mount for the worgen as the worgen sits too up front in the saddle of the gryphon. Plus we get a nice mean stance while riding the carpet.

Blizzard have been clever with the materials needed to make this item. Let me explain.

The bolt of Netherweave and silken thread are used to make the carpet.

The Golden Draenite (4) is enchanted with the Arcane Dust (4) to levitate the carpet - makes sense.

Took me a couple hours to level Tailoring 1-300 - I can confirm that (at least on my server) 1.5k gold is enough to level tailoring to 300 - counts for training, vendor items and AH cloth - I did not grind any at all.

Do they sell? I just checked the auction house on Azuremyst (EU) and there were two available for around the 200g. Now considering they're not that expensive to make (I bought the Golden Draenite for about 15g), I'm wondering if it's a good idea to put a few up and make some profit or not?

I have doubts about this ride. Sure you'll look uber cool and hilarious riding your carpet in Silithus desert sporting your Wizardweave Turban and your Mystical Robe, no doubt the next player you cross is going to go: "WTH was that?" But for more practical minded people like myself there are a few questions which come to mind, such as: What's the point of making this for tailors only? How am I ever going to sell one of these when everyone I can sell it to could actually make it? I didn't realize it could only be used by tailors until I tried to sell it on the AH and someone pointed it out to me. Still, I sold two of them and saw one more go while mine where on the AH and can't help but wonder how it is possible that someone would actually buy it. Well... sorry for the long and perplexed post and if anyone can actually think of a reason I would appreciate it if they would share it with me ^_^'

So I always thought this was a basic 150% flying mount. Just made one, and it's a 280% mount! So either it scales with you based on your riding skill, or the slowest flying carpet is 280%.

The stance on the carpet is actually the stealth stance for all classes-- Even draenei and tauren. You can see what they'd look like if the rogue class was available to them.

The only thing I wish that would change about the Flying Carpets and Machines, is that they have one or allow everyone to use them. I have blacksmithing and mining as my professions, so I cant use either. It sucks, only due to the fact it didnt make sense for my toon to have tailoring or engineering. Oh well, Hopefully this will happen one day or I'll do it for another one of my toons. Such is life. XD

In Patch 3.3.0, the pattern was changed to use Outland materials instead of Northrend materials, presumably to match the level requirement changing from 70 to 60. The new materials are:

6 Bolts of Netherweave (made from 30 Netherweave Cloth)
4 Golden Draenite (random drop from mining Outland nodes or prospecting Fel Iron and Adamantite)
4 Arcane Dust (disenchanted from objects of item level 80-120, which is most Outland greens)
5 Heavy Silken Thread (available from tailoring or leatherworking vendors for a few silver)

Here's what I don't get. There are now 7 profession mounts; 3 Tailoring, 3 Engineering, 1 Alchemy.

One of the Engineering and the one Alchemy aren't limited to having those professions. So why can't just this one flying carpet be open to everyone?

I'm 450 tailor and have both of the trainer learned carpets. I need to know where do I go to learn swift mooncloth carpet (other specialty carpets are swift spellweave carpet and swift ebonweave carpet) or was it only on test servers/beta?

For Alliance players, you can learn it from Alliance Tailoring trainer Hama. She is upstairs in the inn in Honor Hold, Hellfire Peninsula.
